Carefully read the following infor ation in order to operate the air conditioner
correctly.

The user of the unit should keep this a ual at hand and ake it available to those who will
be perfor ing repairs or relocating the unit.
Also, ake it available to the new user when the user changes hands.

conditioner will damage the conditioner,
and may cau e electrical hock or fire
hazard.
Incorrect maintenance and repairment
may cau e water leak, electrical hock
and fire hazard.
When need aintenance and repair ent,
call dealer to handle it.
After a long ti e use of air-conditioner
the base should be checked for any
da ages.
If the damaged ba e i not repaired, the
unit may fall down and cau e accident .

Air-conditioner can't be installed in
the environ ent with infla able
gases because the infla able gases
near to air-conditioner ay cause fire
hazard.
Connect earthing wire.
Use discharge pipe correctly to ensure
efficient discharge.
Earthing wire hould not be con-
nected to the ga pipe, water pipe,
lightning rod or phone line, in-
correct earthing may cau e hock.
Incorrect pipe u e may cau e water
leaking.

Please let the dealer be responsible for
installing the conditioner.

Call the dealer to take easures to
prevent the refrigerant fro leaking.
If conditioner i in talled in a mall
room be ure to take every mea ure in
order to prevent uffocation accident
even in ca e of refrigerant leakage.
When conditioner is deinstalled or
reinstalled dealer should be
responsible for the .

Don't operate the air-conditioner with

Safety Cautions
Warning !
Have the unit professionally installed.
Improper in tallation by an unqualified per on
may re ult in water leak, electric hock, or fire.
Be sure to carefully follow each step in this
handbook when installing the unit.
Improper in tallation may re ult in water leak,
electric hock, moke or fire.
Have all electrical work perfor ed by a
licensed electrician according to the local
regulations and the instructions given in
this anual. Secure a circuit designated
exclusively to the unit.
Place the unit on a stable, level surface that
withstands the weight of the unit to prevent
the unit fro tipping over or falling causing
injury as a result.
Only use specified cables for wiring.Securely
connect each cable, and ake sure that the
cables are not straining the ter inals.
Cable not connected ecurely and properly may
generate heat and cau e fire.
Take necessary safety easures against
typhoons and earthquakes to prevent the
unit fro falling over.
Do not ake any changes or odifications
to the unit. In case of proble s, consult the
dealer.
If repair are not made properly, the unit may
leak water and pre ent a ri k of electric hock, or
it may produce moke or cau e fire.
Improper in tallation or a lack of circuit capacity
may cau e the unit to malfunction or pre ent a
ri k of electric hock, moke,and fire.
Securely attach the ter inal cover(panel)
on the unit.
If in talled improperly, du t and/or water may
enter the unit and pre ent a ri k of electric hock,
moke, or fire.
Only use refrigerant R410A as indicated
on the unit when installing or relocating
the unit.
The u e of any other refrigerant or an
introduction of air into the unit circuit may
cau e the unit to run an abnormal cycle and

Safety Cautions
In the event of a refrigerant gas leak,
provide adequate ventilation to the roo .
Do not touch the fins on the heat exchanger
with bare hands:they are sharp and
dangerous.
If leaked refrigerant ga i expo ed to a heat
ource, noxiou ga e may form.
Direct expe ure to outdoor air may pre ent a
health hazard, and it may al o cau e food item
to deteriorate.
Do not try to defeat the safety features of
the devices, and do not change the settings.
Defeating the afety feature on the unit uch a
the pre ure witch and temperature witch or
u ing part other than the dealer or peciali t
may re ult in fire or explo ion.
When installing the unit in a s all roo ,
safeguard against hypoxia that results fro
leaked refrigerant reaching the threshold
level.
When relocating the air conditioner,
consult the dealer or a specialist.
Con ult the dealer for nece ary mea ure to take.

After co pleting the service work, check
for a refrigerant gas leak.
If leaked ga refrigerant i expo ed to a heat
ource uch a fan heater, tove,and electric grill,
noxiou ga e may form.
Only use specified parts.

Precautions for handling Units for Use with R410A
Caution!
Do not use the existing refrigerant piping
The old refrigerant and refrigerator oil in the
exi ting piping contain a large amount of
chlorine, which will cau e the refrigerator oil in
the new unit to deteriorate.
R410A i a high-pre ure refrigerant,and the u e
of the exi ting piping may re ult in bur ting.
Keep the inner and outer surfaces of the
pipes clean and free of conta inants such
as sulfur, oxides, dust/dirt shaving particles,
oils,and oisture.
Contaminant in ide the refrigerant piping will
cau e the refrigerant oil to deteriorate.
Do not use the following tools that have
been used with the conventional
refrigerants. prepare tools that are for
exclusive use with R410A.
(Gauge anifold, charging hose, gas leak
detector,reverse-flow check valve,
refrigerant charge base,vacuu gauge,
and refrigerant recovery equip ent.)
If refrigerant and/or refrigerant oil left on the e
tool are mixed in with R410, or if water i
mixed with R410A, it will cau e the refrigerant
to deteriorate.
Since R410A doe not contain chlorine, ga -leak
detector for conventional refrigerator will not
work.
With All-Fresh type air cinditioners, outdoor
air ay be directly blown into the roo
upon ther o off. Take this into consideration
when installing the unit.
Use a vacuu pu p with a reverse-flow-
check valve.
If other type of valve are u ed, the vacuum
pump oil will flow back into the refrigerant cycle
and cau e the refrigerator oil to deteriorate.

Safety Cautions
Caution!
Store the piping to be used during
installation indoors, and keep both ends of
the piping sealed until i ediately before
brazing.(keep elbows and other joints
wrapped in plastic.)
A large amount of mineral oil will cau e the
refrigerating machine oil to deteriorate.
Do not use a charging cylinder.
Exercise special care when handling the
tools.
An introduction of foreign object uch a du t,
dirt, or water into the refrigerant cycle will cau e
the refrigerating machine oil to deteriorate.
Only use R410A refrigerant.
The u e of refrigerant containing chlorine(i.e.
R22) will cau e the refrigerant to deteriorate.
Before Installing the Unit
Warning!
Do not install the unit in a place where there
is a possibility of fla able gas leak.
Leaked ga accumulated around the unit may
tart a fire.
When installing the unit in a hospital,take
necessary easures against noise.
High-frequency medical equipment may interfere
with the normal operation of the air conditioning
unit or the air conditioning unit may interfere
with the normal operation of the medical
equipment
Do not use the unit to preserve food,
ani als, plants,artifacts, or for other special
purposes.
The unit i not de igned to provide adepuate
condition to pre erve the quality of the e item .
When humidity level exceed 80% or when the
drainage y tem i clogged, indoor unit may drip
water.
In tallation of a centralized drainage y tem for
the outdoor unit may al o need to be con idered
to prevent water drip from the outdoor unit .
If du t, dirt, or water enter the refrigerant cycle,
it may cau e the oil in the unit to deteriorate or
may cau e the compre or to malfunction.
Use a s all a ount of ester oil,ether oil, or
alkylbenzene to coat flares and flange
connections.
Use lipuid refrigerant to charge the syste .
Charge the unit with ga refrigerant will cau e
the refrigerant in the cylinder to change it
compo ition and will lead to a drop in
performance
The u e of charging cylinder will change the
compo ition of the refrigerant and lead to power
lo .
Do not use the unit in an unusual
environ ent
The u e of the unit in the pre ence of a large
amount of oil, team,acid, alkaline olvent ,or
pecial type of pray may lead to a remarkable
drop in performance and/or malfunction and
pre ent a ri k of electric hock, moke, or fire.
The pre ence of organic olvent , corroded ga
( uch a ammonia, ulfur compound ,and acid
may cau e ga or water leak.)
Do not place the unit on or over things that
ay not get wet.

Safety Cautions
Caution!
If the wire are too taut, they may break or
generate heat and/or moke and cau e fire.
Use breakers and fuses (electrical current
breaker, re ote switch<switch+Type-B
fuse>, olded case circuit breaker) with a
proper current capacity.
The u e of large-capacity fu e , teel wire, or
copper wire may damage the unit or cau e moke
or fire.
Do not spray water on the air conditioners
or i erse the air conditioners in water.
Water on the unit pre ent a ri k of electric hock.
When installing draining pipes, follow the
instructions in the anual, and ake
sure that they properly drain water so as
to avoid dew condensation.
Thing uch a nail may be included in the
package. Di po e of them properly to prevent
injury.
Pla tic bag pre ent a choking hazard to children.
Tear up the pla tic bag before di po ing of them
to prevent accident .
Make sure the wires are not subject to
tension.
Install a breaker for current leakage at the
power source to avoid the risk of electric
shock.
Without a breaker for current leakage, there i a
ri k of electric hock, moke, or fire.
Properly dispose of the packing aterials.
Ground the unit.
Before installing(Relocating) the Unit or Perfor ing Electric Work
Do not connect the grounding on the unit to ga
pipe ,water pipe , lightning rod ,or the
grounding terminal of telephone . Improper
grounding pre ent a ri k of electric hock,
moke, fire, or the noi e cau ed by improper
grounding may cau e the unit to malfunction.
Periodically check the platfor on which
is placed for da age to prevent the unit
fro falling.
If the unit i left on a damaged plarform, it may
topple over, cau ing injury.
If not in talled properly, they may cau e water
leak and damage the furni hing .
Before the Test Run
Do not operate switches with wet hands to
avoid electric.
Do not touch the refrigerant pipes with
bare hands during and i ediately after
operation.
Depending on the tate of the refrigerant in the
y tem, certain part of the unit uch a the pipe
and compre or may become very cold or hot
and may ubject the per on to fro t bite or
burning.
Allow for at lea t five minute before turning off
the unit; otherwi e, the unit may leak water or
experience other problem .
Do not turn off the power i ediately
after stopping the unit.
Du t particle in the air may clog the y tem and
cau e malfunction.
Do not operate the unit without air filters.
Do not operated the unit without panels
and safety guards in their proper places.
They are there to keep the u er from injury from
accidentally touching rotating, high-tempreture
or high-voltage part .

CAUTION!
Ite s to Be Checked
<1>. Verify the type of refrigerant used by the unit to be serviced.
Refrigerant Type: R410A
<2>. Check the sy pto exhibited by the unit to be serviced.
Look in thi ercice handbook for ympeom relating to the refrigerant cycle.
<3>. Be sure to carefully read the Safety cautions at the beginning of this docu ent.
<4>. If there is a gas leak or if the re aining refrigerant is exposed to an open fla e, a
noxious gas hydrofluoric acid ay for . Keep workplace well ventilated.
Install new pipes i ediately after re oving old ones to keep oisture out of the
refrigerant circuit.
Chloride in so e types of refrigerants such as R22 will cause the refrigerating
achine oil to deteriorate.
