Cool Mode
Usethe COOL modeforcooling.
Toset the COOLmode:
1. Pressthe MODE pad untiltheCOOL indicator light islit.
2. Pressthe FANóäç÷òöè÷ÑÒÐÑÖÎÍÒÞÖòõÕØàéäñ
speed.
3. Press+ or - to set thedesiredtemperature between 61°F
and89°F in 1°Fincrements.
Aftersettings have beenmade,the display willchangeback
toshow the roomtemperature.
Thetemperature control isusedto maintain theroom
temperature.The compressor willcycleon and offtokeep
theroom at thesetlevel of comfort.Setthe temperature
controlat a lowernumberand the indoorairwill become
cooler.Set the temperaturecontrolat a highernumber
andthe indoor airwillbecome warmer. NOTE:Òé÷ëèäìõ
conditioneris off andisthen turned onwhileset to COOL,
itwill take approximately3minutes for thecompressorto
startand cooling tobegin.
Cooling Descriptions
For Normal Cooling—Selectthe COOL modeandHIGH,
MEDIUM,or LOW fanspeedwith a middlesettemperature.
For Maximum Cooling—Selectthe COOL mode
andHIGH fan speedwitha lower settemperature.
For Quieter & Nighttime Cooling—Selectthe COOL mode
andLOW fan speedwitha middle settemperature.

OFF,wait 3 minutesbeforerestarting.
DRY Mode—Dehumidification
Usethe DRY modetoprovide dehumidification only.The
fanwill run atafixed speed atthissetting, so afanspeed
cannotbe set. Keepwindowsand doors closedforthe best
dehumidifyingeffects.
To set the DRY mode:
•Pressthe MODE pad untiltheDRY indicator lightislit.

withoutcooling.
To set the FAN mode:
• Pressthe FAN paduntilthe desired indicatorlightfor high,
medium,or low fanspeedis lit.
Sincefan only settingsdonot provide cooling,aset
÷èðóèõä÷øõèúìïïñò÷åèçìöóïäüèçÊé÷èõÏÊ×öóèèçëäö
beenset, the displaywillchange back toshowthe room
temperature.
Theexhaust hose andwindowkit do notneedto be installed
whenoperating in fanmode.”
HEAT Mode
Usethe Heat modeatLow, Med, HighorAuto Fan Speed
forheating. Use theTemperatureIncrease (+) /Decrease(-)
padsto set thedesiredtemperature between 61°Fand86°F
in1°F increments.
Anelectronic thermostat isusedto maintain theroom
temperature.The heater willcycleon and offtokeep the
roomat the setlevelof comfort.
Power Outage Recovery Feature
Inthe case ofapower outage orinterruption,the unit will
automaticallyre-start in thesettingslast used afterthe
poweris restored.
NOTE: Ifthe TIMER wassetbefore the poweroutage,it will
needto be resetafterpower is restored.
Thedisplay will alwaysdefaultto show theroomtemperature.
Whenthe air conditioneristurned on, itwillautomatically start inthelast mode andfansettings selected.

Air Filter
Theair filters shouldbecleaned at leasteverytwo weeks for
yourunit to operateatoptimum efficiency.
CAUTION DO NOT operatethe air conditioner
withouta filter becausedirtand lint willclogit and reduce
performance.
To remove:
1.Unplug or disconnectpower.
2.Pull to removeupperfilter panel.
3.Wash or vacuumthedust from theairfilters.
NOTE: Ifwashed, gently shakethefilter to removethe
excesswater and dustparticlestrapped in thefilter.
4.Reinstall the filters.
5.Plug in orreconnectpower.
CLEANING 1.Unplug or disconnectpower.
2.Use only asoftcloth dampened withwaterto clean the
cabinet.
NOTE:
•Donot use aliquidor spray cleanertoclean the air
conditioner.
•DONOT use chemicals,abrasives,ammonia, chlorine
bleach,concentrated detergents, solventsorscouring
pads.Some of thesechemicals/itemsmay damage and/or
discoloryour air conditioner.
3.Dry thoroughly withasoft cloth.
4.Plug in orreconnectpower.

How to Insert the Batteries in the Remote Control
1.Remove the batterycoverby sliding itaccordingto the
arrowdirection.
2.Insert new batteries,makingsure that the(+)and (–) of
batteryare installed correctly.
3.Reattach the coverbysliding it backintoposition.
NOTES:
•Use 2 “AAA”(1.5volt) alkaline batteries.Donot use
rechargeablebatteries.
•Remove the batteriesfromthe remote controlifthe
systemis not goingtobe used foralong time.
•Do not mixoldand new batteries.Donot mix alkaline,
standard(carbon-zinc) or rechargeable(ni-cad,ni-mh, etc)
batteries.
Storage
If the unit is not being used for a long period of time:
To Empty the Internal Water Tank:
1.Unplug or disconnectpower.
2.Drain the waterfromthe water tank.(See“Internal Water
Tanksection” above.)
3.Use the originalpackagingto repack theunitto avoid a
buildupof dust ordirt.
4.Store the airconditionerin a cool,drylocation.
InternalWaterTank
TheWater Full indicator(“FL”on the controlpaneldisplay)
illuminateswhen the internalwatertank has filledwith
condensedwater.
ToEmpty the InternalWaterTank:
1.Unplug or disconnectpower.
2.Place a shallow1quart or largerpan(not included) below
thelower drain locatedonthe back (nearthebottom) of
theair conditioner.
3.Remove the capandthe rubber pluganddrain the water
tank.
4.Re-insert the drainplugand screw thecapsnugly into
place.
5.Plug in orreconnectpower. waterplug Draincap
