• This air condit ioner must be properly inst alled in
accordance wit h t he Inst allat ion Inst ruct ions before it is
used.
• Never unplug your air condit ioner by pulling on t he power
cord. Always grip plug firmly and pull st raight out from t he
recept acle.
• Replace immediat ely all elect ric service cords t hat have
become frayed or ot herwise damaged. A damaged power
supply cord must be replaced wit h a new power supply cord
obt ained from t he manufact urer and not repaired. Do not
use a cord t hat shows cracks or abrasion damage along it s
lengt h or at eit her t he plug or connect or end.
• Turn the unit OFF and unplug your air condit ioner before
cleaning.
• For your safet y…do not st ore or use combust ible mat erials,
gasoline or ot her flammable vapors or liquids in the vicinit y
of t his or any ot her appliance.
• If t he recept acle does not mat ch t he plug, t he recept acle
must be changed out by a qualified elect rician.
• Do not use means t o accelerat e t he defrost ing process
or t o clean, ot her t han t hose recommended by t he
manufact urer.
• The appliance shall be stored in a room wit hout
cont inuously operat ing ignit ion sources (for example: open
flames, an operat ing gas appliance or an operat ing elect ric
heat er.
• Do not pierce or burn refrigerant tubing. Be aware t hat
refrigerant s may not cont ain an odor.
• Keep vent ilat ion openings clear of obst ruct ion.
• When handling, inst alling, and operat ing t he appliance, care
should be t aken t o avoid damage t o t he refrigerant t ubing.
• Do not drill holes in t he unit .
• Maint enance, cleaning, and service should only be
performed by t echnicians properly t rained and qualified in
t he use of flammable refrigerant s.
• Haier Appliances does not support any servicing of the air
condit ioner.
• Dispose of air condit ioner in accordance wit h Federal and
Local Regulations. Flammable refrigerant s require special
disposal procedures. Cont act your local aut horit ies for t he
environment ally safe disposal of your air condit ioner.

HOW TO CONNECT ELECTRICITY
Do not , under any circumst ances, cut or remove t he t hird
(ground) prong from the power cord. For personal safet y, t his
appliance must be properly grounded.
DO NOT use an adapter plug with this appliance.
The power cord of this appliance is equipped wit h a 3- prong
(grounding) plug which mat es wit h a st andard 3- prong
(grounding) wall out let t o minimize t he possibilit y of elect ric
shock hazard from t his appliance.
Power cord includes a current int errupt er device. A t est
and reset but t on is provided on t he plug case. The device
should be t est ed on a periodic basis by first pressing t he

Have t he wall out let and circuit checked by a qualified
elect rician t o make sure t he out let is properly grounded.
Where a 2- prong wall out let is encount ered, it is your
personal responsibilit y and obligat ion t o have it replaced wit h
a properly grounded 3- prong wall out let .
The air condit ioner should always be plugged int o it s own
individual elect rical out let which has a volt age rat ing t hat
mat ches t he rat ing plat e.
This provides t he best performance and also prevent s
overloading house wiring circuit s which could cause a fire
hazard from overheat ed wires.

This sect ion explains how t o operat e t his air condit ioner.
IMPORTANT:
When you t urn off t he air condit ioner, eit her at t he cont rol panel
or wit h t he remot e cont rol, wait at least 3 minut es before t urning
it back on. This prevent s t he compressor from overloading. This
3 minut e delay also applies when swit ching from cool mode t o
fan and back.
NOTE: There is a built in 3 minut e delay. You may not ice t he
compressor might not st art right away. This was designat ed t o
prot ect t he unit .
Do not operat e your air condit ioner in t he Cool Mode when
t he out side t emperat ure is below 61° F (16° C). This inside
evaporat or coil will freeze up, and t he air condit ioner will not
operat e properly.
NOTE: When t he air condit ioner is first plugged in, t he LED
display will show “ 88” for 3 seconds. Aft er t he air condit ioner
is t urned on for t he first t ime, t he display will show t he
t emperat ure 72° F and t he fan will aut omat ically set t he Quiet
speed and t he Mode indicat or will show ENERGY SAVE.
NOTE: To swit ch t he t emperat ure display bet ween Fahrenheit
(°F) and Celsius (°C), t he air condit ioner must be plugged in
and t urned on. On t he cont rol panel on t he front of t he air
condit ioner press t he UPand DOWN but t on at t he same t ime
and hold for 3 seconds. Press F/ C but t on on remot e cont rol t o
swit ch bet ween Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C).
NOTE: Each t ime t his ENERGY STARqualified air condit ioner
is t urned on, it will operate in energy save mode per t he EPA
requirement s. You can select any ot her mode t o sat isfy your
needs.

Controls
1. MODE
1. Press MODEunt il you see the indicator light come on next
t o t he desired set t ing.
2. Choose Fan, Cool, Energy save (E- Save), or Dehum.
Fan - Only t he fan runs. Press FAN SPEED t o select High,
Med or Quiet fan speed. The display shows t he current room
t emperat ure.
NOTE: in fan mode, t he t emperat ure cannot be set .
E- Save - In t his t his mode t he fan runs only when cooling is
needed. The fan will run for 3 minut es aft er t he compressor
shut s off. The fan then cycles on for 2 minut es at 10 minut e
int ervals unt il t he t emperat ure in t he room is above t he set
t emperat ure. The compressor t hen t urns back on.
Cool - Cools t he room. Press FAN SPEED t o select High,
Med, Quiet or Aut o Cool fan speed. Press t he TEMP/ TIME^
or varrow but t on t o adjust t he t emperat ure. The fan will run
cont inuously in cool mode.
Dehum - Aids in removing humidit y from t he room. Dehum
mode cannot be used t o cool room.
NOTE: In Dehum mode, when t he set t emperat ure is close t o
ambient t emperat ure, t he compressor may st op and t he fan
will run in Quiet speed only.
2. FAN SPEED
1. Press FAN SPEED unt il you see t he indicat or light come on
next t o t he desired set t ing.
2. Choose High, Med, Quiet , or Aut o.
HIGH – For maximum cooling.
MED – For normal cooling.
QUIET – For minimum cooling and noise.
AUTO – Adjust s t he fan speed aut omat ically t o provide ideal
cooling based on t he room t emperat ure.

3. Delay
Delay ON—When t he air condit ioner is off, it can be set
t o aut omat ically come on in 1 t o 24 hours at it s previous
mode and fan set t ings.
Delay OFF—When t he air condit ioner is on,
it can be set t o aut omat ically t urn off in 1 t o
24 hours.
How to set:
Press t he Delay 1–24hr pad on t he unit or t he remot e
cont rol. Each t ouch of t he Increase ^ / Decrease v pads on
t he unit or t he remot e cont rol will set t he t imer in 1- hour
int ervals.
To review t he remaining t ime on t he Delay 1–24hr t imer,
press t he Delay 1–24hr pad on t he unit or t he remot e
cont rol. Use t he Increase ^/ Decrease v pads on t he unit
or on t he remot e cont rol t o set a new t ime if desired.
To cancel the timer, press Decrease v pad on t he unit
or t he remot e cont rol unt il t he set t ime is zero. Aft er 3
seconds t he light on t he Delay 1-24 hour pad goes off.
4. TEMP/ TIME
1. Press t he TEMP/ TIME^but t on t o raise t he t emperat ure.
Each t ime you press t he TEMP/ TIME ^but t on, t he
t emperat ure will go up by 1° F unt il it reaches 86° F (30° C).
2. Press t he TEMP/ TIMEvbut t on t o lower t he t emperat ure.
Each t ime you press t he TEMP/ TIME vbut t on, t he
t emperat ure will go down by 1° F unt il it reaches 61° F (16°
C).
NOTE: Under Fan mode, the display will show t he current
t emperat ure. Under Energy Save, Cool or Dehum mode, t he
display will show t he set t emperat ure.
5. FILTERRESET
This feat ure aut omat ically not ifies you t hat t he air filt er must
be cleaned. The indicator light will come on aft er 240 hours
of operat ion. Clean t he air filt er (refer t o Care and Cleaning
sect ion), place it back in t he front panel, and press t he Filt er
Reset but t on. The light will t urn off.
6. WiFi Connect
Enables connect ion of t he air condit ioner t o ht e home WiFi.

Using the Remote Control
Remot e Cont rol may differ in appearance from t he image show.
NOTE: Please remove t he back of t he cont roller and insert t wo
AAA bat t eries. Replace bat t eries aft er 6 mont hs of use or when
remot e cont rol st art s t o lose power.
NOTE: DO NOT mix old and new bat t eries.
1. POWER
Press t he power but t on t o t urn on t he air condit ioner.
When you first press t he power but t on, t he air condit ioner
will operat e in Energy Save mode, Quiet fan speed and
t emperat ure of 72°F. You can select any ot her mode t o
sat isfy your needs .
2. SPEED
High - Press HIGH but t on t o choose high fan speed.
Med - Press MED but t on t o choose medium fan speed.
Quiet - Press QUIET but t on t o choose quiet fan speed.
Auto Cool - Press AUTO but t on t o choose aut o cool fan
speed.
3. MODE
Fan- Press t he FAN but t on t o act ivat e fan mode.
Cool - Press t he COOL but t on t o act ivat e cool mode.
E- Save Press t he ENERGY SAVE but t on t o act ivat e mode.
Dehum - Press t he DEHUM but t on t o act ivat e dehum mode.
4. TIMER
To set the air conditioner to turn off after a set amount of
time between 1 hour and 24 hours (unit must be ON):
1. Press TIMERON/ OFF but t on on t he remot e cont rol t o
select t he t ime off funct ion.
2. Press t he TIMERUP or TIMERDOWN arrow but t on t o
change t he delay t ime from 1 hour t o 24 hours. Timer OFF
indicat or light on t he air condit ioner panel will illuminat e.
3. The buzzer beeps t wice aft er 5 seconds, t hen Timer OFF
count down will init iat e.
To clear TIMERProgram:
NOTE: Air condit ioner can be eit her on or off.
Press TIMER ON/ OFF but t on unt il Timer indicat or light t urns
off.
5. TEMPUP/ TEMPDOWN
• Press t he TEMP UP but t on t o raise t he t emperat ure. Each
t ime you press t he TEMP UPbut t on, t he t emperat ure will
go up 1° F unt il it reaches 86°F (30°C).
• Press t he TEMP DOWN but t on t o lower t he t emperat ure.
Each t ime you press t he TEMP DOWN but t on, t he
t emperat ure will go down 1° F unt il it reaches 61°F (16°C).
6. SLEEP
1. Press SLEEP but t on on t he remot e cont rol t o choose
Sleep mode. This display will show (08) and t he indicat or
light will t urn on.
2. The t emperat ure will increase by 2° F one hour aft er t he
mode is chosen. The t emperat ure t hen increases anot her
2° F aft er one hour. The unt il will hold t his t emperat ure for
six hours t hen st op.
3. To t urn off Sleep mode, press t he SLEEP but t on unt il t he
indicat or light is off.
7. FAHRENHEIT/ CELSIUS
• Press t he F/ C but t on t o choose bet ween Fahrenheit and
Celsius.
8. LOCK
• Press t he LOCK but t on on t he remot e cont rol t o disable
but t on funct ionalit y. Press t he LOCK but t on again t o
act ivat e t he remot e cont rol funct ionalit y.
9. LIGHT
• When you press t he LIGHT but t on, t he display on t he unit
will t urn off, but t he unit is st ill operat ing normally. When
you press t he LIGHT but t on again or press any but t on on
t he remot e cont rol, t he display will be illuminat ed again.
10. RESET
• Press t he RESET but t on t o reset t he unit t o fact ory
set t ings.

COOL MIN:
To reduce cooling capacit y, point air direct ional louvers up.
COOL MAX:
To maximize cooling capacit y, point air direct ional louvers
down.
Changing the Air Direction
2- Way Air Flow: The air direct ional louvers let you cont rol
t he direct ion of t he airflow. The airflow can be direct ed up
t o down.

Cleaning the Air Filter
The air filt er is removable for easy cleaning. A clean air filt er
helps remove dust , lint and part icles from t he air for opt imal
cooling operat ing efficiency. The Filt er Reset light will t urn on t o
not ify you t hat t he air filt er must be cleaned. The light goes on
aft er t he air condit ioner has been operat ing for 240 hours.
1. Turn off t he air condit ioner and unplug t he power supply cord
from t he out let .
2. Remove t he air filt er by opening t he front panel.
To do t his, gent ly grip t he front panel by t he t wo openings on
t he side, and slide t owards you.
3. Use a vacuum cleaner wit h t he hose at t achment t o clean t he
air filt er. If t he air filt er is very dirt y, wash it in warm wat er wit h
mild det ergent . Do not wash t he air filt er in a dishwasher or
clot hes washer, or use any chemical cleaners. Do not use a
clot h dryer or microwave oven t o dry it . Air dry t he air filt er
complet ely before placing it back in t he unit .
4. Place t he air filt er back in t he air condit ioner. The bot t om of
t he black filt er should nest behind t hree whit e t abs in t he base
of t he front panel.
5. Close t he front panel.
6. Plug t he power supply cord int o t he out let , t urn on t he air
condit ioner and press t he filt er reset but t on t o t urn off t he
indicat or light .
NOTE: Do not operat e t he air condit ioner wit hout t he filt er in
place.
Cleaning the Front Panel
1. Turn off t he air condit ioner and unplug t he power supply cord
from t he out let .
2. Clean t he front panel wit h a soft clot h. Do not use chemical
cleaners, especially spray cleaners, sharp inst rument s, or
flammable fluids. These product s can damage t he surface of
your air condit ioner.
3. Air- dry t he front panel complet ely.
4. Plug t he power supply cord in t he out let and t urn on t he air
condit ioner.

t ime- delay fuse or circuit breaker.
The 3- prong grounding plug minimizes the

you plan t o use is only a 2- prong out let , it is your
responsibilit y t o have it replaced wit h a properly
grounded 3- prong wall out let .

t he air condit ioner, use t wo or more people. Wear gloves
when handling t he air condit ioner t o prot ect against
possible sharp edges and met al fins.
Remove Packaging Materials
• Remove packaging mat erials. Save t he cart on and
t he foam packaging for st oring t he unit when not in
use.
NOTE: There is NO int ernal packing mat erial inside
t he air condit ioner t o remove - DO NOT open t he
cabinet .
• Handle t he air condit ioner gent ly.
• Keep t he air condit ioner upright and level. Do not
set t he air condit ioner on it s side, front , back or
upside down.
• The air condit ioner must be st anding upright for 2
hours prior t o inst allat ion and operat ion.

4. INSTALL THE AIRCONDITIONERIN
THE WINDOW
A. Measure t he widt h of t he window opening and mark
t he cent er line on t he inside window sill.
Place t he unit in t he window. Lower t he window
sash t o hold unit in place.
B. Set t he air condit ioner in t he window so t hat is
cent ered. Place t he air condit ioner so t hat front
edge of t he bot t om mount ing rail is against t he
back edge of t he sill.
Make sure t hat t he air condit ioner is level or t ilt ing
slight ly t o t he out side.

C. Inst all t he side bracket int o t he unit and int o t he
window sill using t wo 1” wood screws provided.
Repeat on ot her side.

Mark t he locat ion of t he holes in each corner of t he
curt ain. Use t he drill and 1/ 8” drill bit t o drill pilot
holes. Use 4 t ype B screws t o secure t he side
panels in place.

Problem Possible Cause What To Do
Air conditioner does not
start.
The unit is unplugged. Make sure t he air condit ioner plug is pushed complet ely int o
t he out let .
The fuse is blown/ circuit breaker is
tripped.
Check t he house fuse/ circuit breaker box and replace t he fuse
or reset t he breaker.
Power Failure. The unit will aut omat ically rest art in t he set t ing last used aft er
t he power is rest ored.
There is a prot ect ive t ime delay (approximat ely 3 minut es) t o
prevent t ripping of t he compressor overload. For t his reason,
t he unit may not st art normal cooling f or 3 minut es aft er it is
t urned back on.
The current interrupter device is
tripped.
Press RESET but t on locat ed on t he power cord plug.
If t he RESET but t on will not st ay engaged, discont inue use of
t he air condit ioner and cont act a qualified service t echnician.
Remote control is not
working
Batteries are dead. Replace t he bat t eries.
Batteries inserted wrong. Make sure bat t eries are insert ed in t he correct posit ion.
Air conditioner does not
cool as it should.
Indoor airflow is restricted. Make sure t here are not curt ains, blinds or furnit ure blocking
t he front of t he air condit ioner.
The temp control may not be set
properly.
Turn t he t emperat ure cont rol t o a higher number.
The air filter is dirty. Clean t he filt er at least every 30 days. See Care and Cleaning
sect ion.
The room may have been hot. When t he air condit ioner is first t urned on, you need t o allow
t ime for t he room t o cool down.
Cold air is escaping. Check for open furnace regist ers and cold air ret urns.
Cooling coils have iced up. See “Air condit ioner freezing up” below.
Air conditioner freezing up Ice blocks the air flow and stops
the air conditioner from cooling the
room.
On models wit h cont rol knobs, set t he mode cont rol at High
Fan or High Cool wit h t he Temp at 1 or 2.
Water drips outside Hot, humid weather. This is normal.
Water drips inside The air conditioner is not tilted to
the outside.
For proper disposal, make sure t he air condit ioner slant s
slight ly from t he case front t o t he rear.
Water collects in base pan Moisture removed from air and drain
into base pan.
This is normal for a short period in areas wit h lit t le humidit y;
normal for a longer period in very humid areas.

• You may hear a pinging noise caused by water being picked up and
t hrown against t he condenser on rainy days or when t he humidit y
is high. This design feat ure helps remove moist ure and improve
efficiency.
• You may hear t he t hermost at click when t he compressor cycles on
and off.
• Wat er will collect in t he base pan during high humidit y or on rainy days.
The wat er may overflow and drip from t he out door side of t he unit .
• The fan may run even when t he compressor does not .
• Wat er droplet s being t hrown against t he out side coils can make a
pinging noise. This helps cool t he condenser. You can reduce t his
noise by removing t he subbase wat er plug.
Removing t his plug will lower t he Energy Efficiency of your unt il.
NOTE: Do not drill hole in t he base pan.
