WARNING For your safety, the information in thismanual must be followed to minimize the risk of fire, electric

• Use t his appliance only for it s int ended purpose as
described in t his Owner’s Manual.
• This air condit ioner must be properly inst alled in
accordance wit h t he Inst allat ion Inst ruct ions before it is
used.
• Never unplug your air condit ioner by pulling on t he power
cord. Always grip plug firmly and pull st raight out from t he
recept acle.
• Replace immediat ely all elect ric service cords t hat have
become frayed or ot herwise damaged. A damaged power
supply cord must be replaced wit h a new power supply cord
obt ained from t he manufact urer and not repaired. Do not
use a cord t hat shows cracks or abrasion damage along it s
lengt h or at eit her t he plug or connect or end.
• Turn the unit OFF and unplug your air condit ioner before
cleaning.
• For your safet y…do not st ore or use combust ible mat erials,
gasoline or ot her flammable vapors or liquids in the vicinit y
of t his or any ot her appliance.
• If t he recept acle does not mat ch t he plug, t he recept acle
must be changed out by a qualified elect rician.
• Do not use means t o accelerat e t he defrost ing process
or t o clean, ot her t han t hose recommended by t he
manufact urer.
• The appliance shall be stored in a room wit hout
cont inuously operat ing ignit ion sources (for example: open
flames, an operat ing gas appliance or an operat ing elect ric
heat er.
• Do not pierce or burn refrigerant tubing. Be aware t hat
refrigerant s may not cont ain an odor.
• Keep vent ilat ion openings clear of obst ruct ion.
• When handling, inst alling, and operat ing t he appliance, care
should be t aken t o avoid damage t o t he refrigerant t ubing.
• Do not drill holes in t he unit .
• Maint enance, cleaning, and service should only be
performed by t echnicians properly t rained and qualified in
t he use of flammable refrigerant s.
• Haier Appliances does not support any servicing of the air
condit ioner.
• Dispose of air condit ioner in accordance wit h Federal and
Local Regulations. Flammable refrigerant s require special
disposal procedures. Cont act your local aut horit ies for t he
environment ally safe disposal of your air condit ioner.

HOW TO CONNECT ELECTRICITY
Do not , under any circumst ances, cut or remove t he t hird
(ground) prong from the power cord. For personal safet y, t his
appliance must be properly grounded.
DO NOT use an adapter plug with this appliance.
The power cord of this appliance is equipped wit h a 3- prong
(grounding) plug which mat es wit h a st andard 3- prong
(grounding) wall out let t o minimize t he possibilit y of elect ric
shock hazard from t his appliance.
Power cord includes a current int errupt er device. A t est
and reset but t on is provided on t he plug case. The device
should be t est ed on a periodic basis by first pressing t he

Have t he wall out let and circuit checked by a qualified
elect rician t o make sure t he out let is properly grounded.
Where a 2- prong wall out let is encount ered, it is your
personal responsibilit y and obligat ion t o have it replaced wit h
a properly grounded 3- prong wall out let .
The air condit ioner should always be plugged int o it s own
individual elect rical out let which has a volt age rat ing t hat
mat ches t he rat ing plat e.
This provides t he best performance and also prevent s
overloading house wiring circuit s which could cause a fire
hazard from overheat ed wires.
