HOW TO CONNECT ELECTRICITY
Donot,underanycircumstances,cutorremove the third
(ground)prongfromthepowercord.Forpersonal safety, this
appliancemustbeproperlygrounded.
DONOTuseanadapterplugwiththis appliance.
Thepowercordofthisapplianceisequipped with a 3-prong
(grounding)plugwhichmateswithastandard3-prong
(grounding)walloutlettominimizethepossibilityof electric
shockhazardfromthisappliance.
Havethewalloutletandcircuitcheckedby a qualified
electriciantomakesuretheoutletisproperly grounded.
Wherea2-prongwalloutletisencountered,it is your
personalresponsibilityandobligationtohaveitreplaced with

Thedehumidifiershouldalwaysbepluggedintoits own

1. Power Pad
Pressto turnthedehumidifier onand off.
NOTE: Turningoff thepowerby pressingthe Powerbutton does
NOTdisconnect theappliancefrom powersupply.

Controlsthe fanspeed.
PresstoselecteitherHigh,Medium,Low,orSmartDryfanspeed.
Setthefan controlto Highformaximum moistureremoval. When
thehumidity hasbeenreduced andquiet operationis preferred,
setthe fancontrolto Mediumor Low.
SmartDry comparestheset humiditylevel withthe actual
humidityand adjuststhefan speedautomatically.
3. Display
Showsthe set%humidity levelwhile setting,then showsthe
actual(+/– 5%accuracy)room %humidity level.

continuousoperation, pressthe paduntil the“Nonstop”
indicatorlight isilluminated.
NOTE: IfNonstop isselected,the dehumidifierwill operate
continuouslyat itsmaximumdehumidification settingsif
attachedto ahoseto drainor untilthe bucketis full.
Fordrierair,pressthe padandsettoalowerpercentvalue(%).
Fordamperair,pressthe padandsettoahigherpercentvalue(%).
Whenyou firstusethe dehumidifier,set thehumidity control
to45% or50%.Allow atleast 24hours forthe dehumidifier
toachieve thehumiditylevel. Ifyou stillhave damperair than
desired,set thehumiditylevel toa lowersetting orselect
Nonstopfor maximumdehumidification.
5. Filter Timer
After250hoursofoperation,theCleantheFilterindicatorlightwill
glowtoremindyoutocleanthefilter.Removethefilterandcleanit.
Pressand holdFilter buttonfor 3seconds toreset thefilter
reminder.See theCareand Cleaningsection.
6. Delay Off
Whilethe dehumidifierisoperating pressthe Delay button.
Pressthe
/ buttonsto selectthenumber ofhours youwant
thedehumidifier tocontinueto operatebefore turningOff.
NOTE: Afterdisplaying thetime,the Displaywill revertto
showingthe currenthumidityafter 5seconds havepassed.
Pressingthe Delay buttonwilldisplay thenumber ofhours lefton
thedelay.
Delay On
Whilethe dehumidifierisoff pressthe Delay button.
Pressthe
/ buttonsto selectthenumber ofhours you
wantthe dehumidifiertoremain offbefore turningOn.
NOTE: Thedisplay willshowthe numberof hoursleft untilthe
dehumidifierturns on.
To cancel the Delay:
Pressthe Delaybuttononce, thehours remainingon theDelay
willappear onthedisplay. Pressthe Delay buttonagain andthe
Delaywill becancelled.
7. Empty Indicator
The“Empty” indicatorwillblink whenthe bucketis readyto be
emptied,or whenthebucket isremoved and/ornot replacedin
theproper position.

Other Features
Alarm
Ifthebucket is fullormissing,an alarm will soundforabout10 seconds to
remindyouto empty andreplacethebucket.
Auto Shut Off
TheWaterLevel Control Switchshutsoffthe dehumidifier when thebucket
isfull,or when thebucketisremoved and/or not replacedintheproper
position.
NOTE: Thefanand compressor willstoprunningas soon as thebucketis
removed.Thealarm will soundifthebucket is not replacedintheproper
positionafter3 minutes.
Auto Defrost
Whenfrostbuilds up ontheevaporatorcoils, the compressor willcycleoff
andthefan will continuetorununtil the frost disappears.
Power Outage
Inthecase of apoweroutageor interruption, the unitwillautomatically
restart,inthe settings lastused,afterthe power is restored.

1.Removethe4castersfromthebagtapedtotheinsideof
thewaterbucketlid.
2.Carefullylaythedehumidifierdownonit’sfrontorbackona
paddedsurfacetopreventdamagetounit.
3.Pushthecastersintotheholesonthebaseoftheunituntil
theylockinplace.
4.Placetheunituprightandwait1hourbeforeuse.

Choosing a Location
Adehumidifieroperatinginabasementwillhavelittleorno
effectindryinganadjacentenclosedstoragearea,suchasa
closet,unlessthereisadequatecirculationofairinandoutofthe
area.
• Donotuseoutdoors.
• Thisdehumidifierisintendedforindoorresidentialapplications
only.Thisdehumidifiershouldnotbeusedforcommercialor
industrialapplications.
• Placethedehumidifieronasmooth,levelfloorstrongenough
tosupporttheunitwithafullbucketofwater.
• Allowatleast18inchesofairspaceonallsidesoftheunitfor
goodaircirculation.
• Placethedehumidifierinanareawherethetemperaturewill
notfallbelow41°F(5°C)orabove90°F(32°C).Thecoilscan
becomecoveredwithfrostattemperaturesbelow41°F,which
mayreduceperformance.
• Thesuggestedrangeofrelativehumidityisbetween40%and
50%
• Usethedehumidifierincooking,laundryanddishwashingareas
thathaveexcessivemoisture.
NOTE:Placethedehumidifierawayfromtheclothesdryer.
• Usethedehumidifiertopreventmoisturedamageanywhere
booksorvaluablesarestored.
• Usethedehumidifierinabasementtohelppreventmoisture
damage.
• Thedehumidifiermustbeoperatedinanenclosedareatobe
mosteffective.
• Closealldoors,windowsandotheroutsideopeningstothe
room.
NOTE:Thedehumidifierhascasterstoaidplacement,butit
shouldonlyberolledonsmooth,flatsurfaces.Donotattemptto
rollthedehumidifieroncarpetoroverobjects.
HowtheDehumidifierOperates
Moist,humidairisdrawnoveracoldrefrigerateddehumidifying
coil.Moistureintheaircondensesonthiscoilanddrainsintoa
bucket(orthroughahoseanddrain).
Dry,cleanairisdrawnthroughthecondenserwhereitisheated
anddischargedoutthetopgrilleintotheroom.
Itisnormalforthesurroundingairtobecomeslightlywarmeras
thedehumidifieroperates.
AutomaticDefrost
Whenfrostbuildsupontheevaporatorcoils,thecompressor
willcycleoffandthefanwillcontinuetorununtilthefrost
disappears.
Whenthecoilisdefrosted,thecompressororfanwill
automaticallyrestartanddehumidifyingwillresume.
When first using the dehumidifier, operate the unit continuously for 24 hours.

RemovingCollectedWater
Thereare2waystoremovecollectedwater:
Usethebucket.Whenthebucketisremoved,theunitwillshut
off.Emptyandreplacethebucket.
IMPORTANT:Donotusethehoseifusingthebuckettocollect
water.Whenthehoseisconnected,waterwillflowthroughit
ontothefloorinsteadofintothebucket.
NOTES:
• Donotremovethebucketwhilethedehumidifierisoperating
orifithasjuststoppedoperating.Thismightcausesome
watertodripfromthedrainpan.
• Thebucketmustbeinplaceandsecurelyseatedforthe
dehumidifiertooperate.
Useahose.Watercanbeautomaticallyemptiedintoafloor
drainbyattachingagardenwaterhose(notincluded).
1.Removethebucketfromthefrontoftheunit.
2.Openthedraincoveronthesideoftheunit.
3.Threadagardenhose(notsupplied)ontothenozzleand
ensureitisseatedsecurely.Cuttolengthandleadittothe
floordrain.
4.Replacethebucketintheunit.
NOTE:Thebucketmustbeinplaceandsecurelyseatedforthe
dehumidifiertooperate.Thedrainhosemustrundownfromthe
dehumidifiertothefloordrain.
Always make sure the water bucket is locked into place on the dehumidifier.
WaterLevel
Thedehumidifierwillturnoffautomaticallywhenthebucketis
full,orwhenthebucketisremovedornotreplacedintheproper
position.
Thebucketmustbereplacedintheproperpositionforthe
dehumidifiertowork.Theemptyindicatorwillblinkandthe
dehumidifierwillnotrunifthebucketisnotintheproper
position.

BucketOperation
DONOTremovethefoampieceandmagnetblockinthebucket
assembly.IfremovedtheDehumidifierwillnotworkproperly.

Air Filter
Theairfilterbehindthereargrilleshouldbecheckedandcleaned
atleastevery250hoursofoperationormoreoftenifnecessary.
After250hoursofoperation,theFilterindicatorlightwillglow
toremindyoutocleanthefilter.Removethefilterandclean
it.Replacethefilterandpressandholdthefilterbuttonfor3
seconds.
To remove:
Removethereargrilleandthefilterwillbeattached.
To clean:
Cleanthefilterwithwarm,soapywater.Rinseandletthefilter
drybeforereplacingit.

CAUTION DONOToperatethedehumidifier

GrilleandCase
To cleanthe case:
Usewaterandamilddetergent.Donotuse
bleachorabrasives.
To cleanthe reargrille:
Useavacuumattachmentorbrush.
WaterBucket
To clean:
Everyfewweeks,cleanthebuckettopreventgrowthofmold,
mildewandbacteria.Partiallyfillthebucketwithcleanwaterand
addalittlemilddetergent.Swishitaroundinthebucket,empty
andrinse.
NOTE:Donotuseadishwashertocleanthewaterbucket.
To remove:
Removethebucketandpouroutanywater.
To replace:
Slidethebucketintothedehumidifier.
NOTE:Thebucketmustbeinplaceandsecurelyseatedforthe
dehumidifiertooperate.
Turn off the dehumidifier and remove the plug from the wall outlet before cleaning.

Dehumidifier does not start The dehumidifier is unplugged. Makessure thedehumidifier’splug ispushed completelyinto
theoutlet.
The fuse is blown/circuit breaker is
tripped. Checkthe housefuse/circuitbreaker boxand replacethe fuse orreset thebreaker.
Dehumidifier has reached its set
humidity level or bucket is full. Thedehumidifier automaticallyturnsoff wheneither conditionoccurs. Change toalower settingor emptythe
bucketand replaceproperly.
Bucket is not in the proper position. Thebucket mustbein placeand securelyseated forthe
dehumidifierto operate.
Power Failure. Thereis aprotectivetime delay(up to3 minutes)to prevent
trippingof thecompressoroverload. Forthis reason,the unit
maynot startnormaldehumidification for3 minutesafter it
turnedback on.
Dehumidifier does not dry
the air as it should Did not allow enough time to remove the moisture. Whenfirst installed,allowat least24 hoursto maintainthe desireddryness.
Airflow is restricted. Makesure thereareno curtains,blinds orfurniture blocking
thetop orbackof thedehumidifier. See theChoosing a
Locationsection.
Dirty Filter Seethe CareandCleaning section.
The Humidity Control may not be set
low enough. Fordrier air,pressthe źpadand setto alower percentvalue
(%)or attheNonstop settingfor maximumdehumidification.
Doors and windowsmay not be
closedtightly. Checkthat alldoors, windowsandotheropeningsare securelyclosed.
Clothes dryer maybe blowing
moisure-ladenairinto the room. Install thedehumidifier awayfrom thedyer. Thedryer should bevented totheoutside.
Room temperature is too low. Moistureremoval isbestat higherroom temperatures.
Lowerroom temperatureswillreduce themoisture removal
rate. Modelsare designedtobe operatedat temperatures
above41°F (5°C).
Dehumidifier runs too much
Area to be dehumidified is too large. Thecapacity ofyourdehumidifier maynot beadequate.
Doors and windows are open. Closeall doorsandwindows tothe outside.
Frost appears on the coils Room temperature is below 41°F
(5°C) Pleaseoperate unitattemperatures above41 F(5 C).Frost willusually disappearwithin60 minutes.Under certain
conditions,frost mayappearon thecoils ofyour dehumidifier
attemperatures above41°F(5°C). Thisis normaland frost
willusually disappearwithin60 minutes.See theAutomatic
Defrostsection.
Fan noise Air is moving through the
dehumidifier. Thisis normal.
Water on floor Hose connection may be loose. Checkthe hoseconnection. Seethe RemovingCollected
Watersection.
Intended to use the bucket to collect
water, but a hose was attached. Disconnectthe hoseifusing abucket tocollect water. See theRemoving CollectedWatersection.
Bucket Full LED light
flashing and alarm sounds
while drain hose is
connected.
Drain hose not tight on fitting. Checkdrain hoseconnection.
Drain hose is kinked. Ensurethe drainhoseis pointedstraight downto thefloor
andis notkinkedin anyway.
