CSM (Current Sense Module) Causes No Operation or
Dead Condition
Dishwasher
A heating element or random non dishwasher faults may cause the CSM to trip and render a
dishwasher in ano operation or dead state. For the models and serials shown, follow these
instructions.

If the dishwasher has no response, no LED’s,
display or operation, the CSM may be
tripped.
GE Technicians use laptop diagnostics to
diagnose
CC Technicians will enter Consumer Error
Mode.
Press the Select Cycle and Start buttons at
the same time for Five (5) seconds. If the
control responds with LED’s or Display
coming on, The CSM is tripped.
Or
Access the main control board and view the
service LED. If it is flashing 7 times within 3
seconds, the CSM is tripped.

Replace the Heating Element with
WD05X24776*and update the software.
GE Technicians will use laptop diagnostics to
diagnose and update software.
Customer Care Technicians will use
Consumer error and Service Modes to
diagnose and SUM Module WD98R2327901
to update software.
Follow the steps on the next page
Important Note: All components must be
thoroughly dry when installing the new
element, including the tub area around the
element (inside and outside).

To reset the CSM. (GE Technicians use Laptop Diagnostics Program)
Entering Service Mode will reset the CSM.
To enter Service Mode:
1. First enter Consumer Error mode as directed previously. After the ten (10) second door check
has completed, continue to next step.
2. Enter Service mode (while in Consumer Error Mode), by pressing and holding the Select Cycle
button for five (5) seconds.
Fill, circulate, heater and drain tests can be selected by using the Select Cycle button. To start each
test, press the Start button.

Guides.
Replace the Heating Element with WD05X24776 (Exposed Heater models only)
GE Technicians will use laptop diagnostics to diagnose and view load snapshot at time of trip
and to update software.
Customer Care Technicians will use SUM Module WD98R2327901 to update software.
