SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
When using this appliance, always exercise basic safety precautions, including
the following:
1) Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in this use and care
guide.
2) This refrigerator must be properly installed in accordance with the installation
instructions before it is used. See grounding instructions in the installation section.
3) Never unplug your refrigerator by pulling on the power cord. Always grasp the
plug firmly and pull straight out from the outlet.
4) Repair or replace immediately, all electric service cords that have become frayed
or otherwise damaged. Do not use a cord that shows cracks or abrasion damage
along its length, the plug or the connector end.
5) Unplug your refrigerator before cleaning or before making any repairs.
If for any reason this product requires service, we strongly recommend that
a certified technician performs the service.
6) If your old refrigerator is not being used, we recommend that you remove the doors
and leave the shelves in place. This will reduce the possibility of danger to children.
7) This refrigerator should not be recessed or built-in an enclosed cabinet. It is
designed for freestanding installation only.
8) Do not operate your refrigerator in the presence of explosive fumes.

Electrical Requirements
Wiring and Grounding Instructions
This appliance must be plugged into at least a 15 AMP 110-115 VOLT 60 Hz
GROUNDED OUTLET. This appliance must be grounded. It is equipped with a
3-wire cord having a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet
that is properly installed and grounded.
WARNING! Improper use of grounded wire can result in the risk of electricshock.
Consult a physician if necessary. Do not attempt to defeat this safety
feature by modifying the plug.
Avoid the use of an extension cord because it may overheat and cause a risk of
fire. However, if it is necessary to use an extension cord:
A. Use only 3-wire extension cords with 3-blade grounding plug.
B. The marked rating of an extension cord must be equal to or greater than the
rating of this appliance.
C. It should be positioned such that it does not drape over the counter or
tabletop where it can be pulled on by children intentionally.

After Unpacking Your Refrigerator
Find the best location to install your refrigerator near a 115 volt, 15 amp outlet.
Make sure there is proper air ventalation.
Proper Air Circulation
• To assure your refrigerator works at the maximum efficiency it was designed
for, you should install it in a location where there is proper air circulation and
electrical connections.
• The following are recommended clearances around the refrigerator:
Sides.......................2 “(50mm)
Top.......................2” (50mm)
Back....................4” (100mm)
Install Limitations
• Do not install your refrigerator in any location not properly insulated or heated
e.g. garage etc. Your refrigerator was not designed to operate in temperature
settings below 55º Fahrenheit.
• Select a suitable location for the refrigerator on a hard even surface away
from direct sunlight or heat source e.g. radiators, baseboard heaters, cooking
appliances etc.
• This refrigerator is designed to operate at 37ºF, in a room that has an ambient
temperature of 70ºF. At recommended settings, this fridge will be cold enough for
dairy and perishables if set between the MED and HIGH setting. The temperature
may fluctuate due to ambient temperate of the room it is in.
It is not suggested to keep perishables in the NuCool refrigerator if the
ambient temperature of the room is higher than 80ºF.

REFRIGERATOR FEATURES AND USE

General Features
Your refrigerator will automatically maintain the temperature level you select. The
temperature control dial has Low (warmest) and High (coldest) settings with a
Medium temperature setting in between. At first, set the dial to High for 2 hours
before adjusting the temperature to your needs.
Refrigerator Interior Shelf
To adjust, remove or replace a full-width slide-out shelf: (see fig. #4)
1. Gently tilt the shelf up and slide forward until the shelf has been completely
removed.
2. To replace the shelf, gently slide the shelf back.
Using the Dispense-A-Can®
Your refrigerator is equipped with the convenient
“Dispense-A-Can®” compartment. The compartment
will hold up to 5 cans. Simply load the cans from the top.
To dispense a can simply draw one out from the bottom.

PROPER REFRIGERATOR CARE & CLEANING
Warning:• To avoid electric shock always unplug your refrigerator before
cleaning. Ignoring this warning may result in death or injury.
Caution: • Before using cleaning products, always read and follow
manufacturer's instructions and warnings to avoid personal injury or
product damage.
General: • Prepare a cleaning solution of 3-4 tablespoons of baking soda
mixed with warm water. Use sponge or soft cloth, dampened with
the cleaning solution, to wipe down your refrigerator.
• Rinse with clean warm water and dry with a soft cloth.
• Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, ammonia, chlorine bleach,
concentrated detergents, solvents or metal scouring pads. Some
of these chemicals may dissolve, damage and/or discolor your
refrigerator.
Door Gaskets:
• Clean door gaskets every three months according to general
instructions. Gaskets must be kept clean and pliable to assure a
proper seal.
• Petroleum jelly applied lightly on the hinge side of gaskets will keep
the gasket pliable and assure a good seal.
Power Interruptions
• Occasionally there may be power interruptions due to
thunderstorms or other causes. Remove the power cord from AC
outlet when a power outage occurs. When power has been restored,
replug power cord to AC outlet. If outage is for a prolonged period,
inspect and discard spoiled food in the refrigerator. Clean inside the
refrigerator before reusing.
Vacation and Moving Care
• For long vacations or absences, unplug the power cord from AC
outlet, empty food from refrigerator and clean the refrigerator and
door gaskets according to “General cleaning” section. Prop door
open, so air can circulate inside. When moving, always try to
move the refrigerator vertically.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
Refrigerator Does Not Operate
• Check if refrigerator is plugged in.
• Check if there is power at the AC outlet, by checking the circuit breaker.
Food temperature appears too warm
• Frequent door openings.
• Allow time for recently added warm food to reach fresh food temperature.
• Check gaskets for proper seal.
• Adjust temperature control to colder setting.
Food temperature is too cold
• If temperature control setting is too cold, adjust to a warmer setting
and allow several hours for temperature to adjust.
Moisture build up on interior or exterior of the refrigerator:
• This is normal during high humidity periods.
• Prolonged or frequent door openings.
• Check door gaskets for proper seal.
Refrigerator has an odor:
• Interior needs cleaning.
• Foods improperly wrapped or sealed are giving off odors.
Refrigerator door does not shut properly:
• Check for blockages e.g. food containers, shelves, etc.
• Make sure no objects are stuck to the magnetic latch.

LIMITED WARRANTY
What is covered and for how long?
This warranty covers all defects in
workmanship or materials for a period of:

purchase. Customer shall provide Haier with
proof of the date of purchase, brand, model
and serial number for verification prior to any
warranty service being provided.

1. The mechanical and electrical parts of
the appliance which serve the functional
purpose of this appliance are covered for a

including but not limited to incidental or
consequential damages.
What will be done?
1. Any mechanical or electrical part that
proves to be defective in normal usage
during the specified warranty period will be
repaired or replaced at Haier’s discretion.
If it is determined that repair is not appropriate
or replacement part is unavailable for repair,
Haier will exchange the product with a
refurbished or new product the same or similar
to the original at its discretion.
2. There will be no charge to the purchaser
for functional replacement parts and labor
on any covered items during the initial 12-
month period.

Requisitos eléctricos
Instrucciones para el cableado y la descarga a tierra
Este aparato debe enchufarse en un TOMACORRIENTE DE AL MENOS 15
AMPERES 110-115 VOLTIOS, 60 HZ CON CONEXIÓN A TIERRA. Este artefacto
debe tener conexión a tierra. Está equipado con un cable de 3 hilos que cuenta
con un enchufe a tierra. El enchufe debe insertarse en un tomacorriente que se

Después de desembalar el refrigerador
Encuentre la mejor ubicación para instalar su refrigerador cerca de un tomacorriente
de 15 voltios, 15 amperes. Asegúrese de que la ventilación sea adecuada.
Circulación adecuada de aire
• Para asegurarse de que el refrigerador funcione con la eficiencia máxima para

recomendaciones, entre la temperatura MEDIA y ALTA. La temperatura puede

Nota: No se recomienda guardar productos perecederos en el refrigerador NuCool
si la temperatura ambiente es más alta que 80°F.

Características generales
El refrigerador mantendrá automáticamente el nivel de temperatura que seleccione.
El dial de control de temperatura tiene configuración Baja (más cálida) y Alta
(más fría) con configuración de temperatura Media. En un primer momento,
configure el dial en Alta durante 2 horas antes de regular la temperatura según sus
necesidades.
Estante interior del refrigerador
Para ajustar, quitar o reemplazar un estante de
ancho completo deslizable: (consulte la figura 4)
1. Incline con suavidad hacia arriba el estante
y deslícelo hacia adelante hasta
quitarlo completamente.
2. Para reemplazar el estante,
deslícelo suavemente hacia atrás.

Cómo usar el Sistema de almacenamiento
de latas “Dispense-A-Can®”
El refrigerador tiene un compartimiento conveniente
para el almacenamiento de latas “Dispense-a-Can®”.
Cada compartimiento tiene capacidad para hasta 5
latas. Simplemente coloque las latas desde arriba.
Para servirse una lata, simplemente quite una de abajo.

CUIDADO Y LIMPIEZA ADECUADOS DEL REFRIGERADOR
Advertencia:• Para evitar descargas eléctricas, desenchufe siempre el
refrigerador antes de limpiarlo. Ignorar esta advertencia puede
ocasionar lesiones personales o la muerte.
Precaución:• Antes de usar productos de limpieza, siempre debe leer y respetar
las instrucciones y advertencias del fabricante para evitar lesiones
personales o daños al producto.
General: • Prepare una solución de limpieza con 3 o 4 cucharadas de
bicarbonato de sodio mezcladas con agua tibia. Utilice una
esponja o paño suave humedecido en la solución de limpieza para
limpiar su refrigerador.
• Enjuague con agua limpia y tibia y seque con un paño suave.
• No utilice productos químicos fuertes, abrasivos, amoníaco,
blanqueador con cloro, detergentes concentrados, solventes o
esponjas de metal texturizado. Algunos de estos productos
químicos pueden disolver, dañar o desteñir el refrigerador.
Juntas de la puerta:
• Limpie las juntas de la puerta cada tres meses según lo que se
especifica en las instrucciones generales. Las juntas deben
mantenerse limpias y flexibles para garantizar que el cierre sea
hermético.
• Si se aplica vaselina suavemente a las juntas del lado de las
bisagras, éstas se mantendrán flexibles y se asegurará que el cierre
sea hermético.
Cortes de energía:
• Ocasionalmente, puede haber cortes de energía debido a
tormentas eléctricas u otras causas. Desenchufe el cable de
alimentación del tomacorriente de corriente alterna cuando haya
un corte de energía. Una vez que se restablezca la energía, vuelva
a enchufar el cable de alimentación en el tomacorriente de corriente
alterna. Si el corte se produce durante un período prolongado,
inspeccione y descarte los alimentos que se echaron a perder en el
refrigerador. Limpie el interior del refrigerador antes de volver a
usarlo.
Cuidados durante las vacaciones y las mudanzas:
• En el caso de vacaciones o ausencias prolongadas, desenchufe el
cable de energía del tomacorriente de corriente alterna, vacíe el
refrigerador y limpie tanto el refrigerador como las juntas de la
puerta de acuerdo con la sección “Limpieza general”. Póngale un
tope a la puerta para que queden abiertas, de forma tal que el aire
pueda circular en el interior de la unidad. Cuando se mude, intente
siempre que el refrigerador se traslade ubicado verticalmente.

DETECCIÓN Y RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
El refrigerador no funciona
• Compruebe que el refrigerador esté conectado.
• Compruebe que haya energía en el tomacorriente de corriente alterna
revisando el interruptor automático.
La temperatura de los alimentos es demasiado caliente
• Se abre la puerta con frecuencia.
• Deje que pase un tiempo para que los alimentos calientes que recién se
agregaron alcancen la temperatura de los alimentos frescos.
• Compruebe que la junta de la puerta tenga el sellado adecuado.
• Regule el control de temperatura en una configuración más fría.
La temperatura de los alimentos es demasiado baja
• Si la configuración del control de temperatura es demasiado baja, conf
ure una temperatura más alta y permita que transcurran varias horas para
que se regule la temperatura.
Acumulación de humedad en el interior o el exterior del refrigerador:
• Esto es normal durante períodos de humedad alta.
• Se abre la puerta durante períodos prolongados o con frecuencia.
• Controle la junta de la puerta para que el sellado sea adecuado.
El refrigerador tiene feo olor:
• Debe limpiarse el interior.
