System Gateway User Guide
INTRODUCTION
Halio System Gateway is a device that serves as the secure
connection between the local Halio smart-tinting system and
the Halio Cloud Services. Once installed in the Halio
Component Cabinet along with Halio Tint Drivers, it receives
and distributes system communication. The System Gateway:
•Monitors and reports on status of the Halio system
components
•Serves as the exclusive connection to the Halio Cloud
Services using secure TLS/SSL connectivity
•Facilitates software updates of Halio devices to ensure
optimum performance
USING GATEWAY STATUS INDICATORS
POWER (LED 1) –Green/Red
•Green Flashing –Gateway is starting up and loading
onboard software applications.
•Green Solid - After boot up, indicates system has read
the next stage bootloader from memory and is loading.
•Red –indicates
HALIO CLOUD CONNECTION (LED 2) –Green/Red
•Green Solid –Gateway is connected to the Halio Cloud.
•Red –Gateway is unable to communicate with Halio
Cloud services.
WIRELESS NETWORK STATUS (LED 3) –Green/Orange/Red
•Orange flashing - indicates the Gateway is starting the
wireless thread network.
•Green Solid –indicates the Gateway wireless network is
active.
•Red –indicates a problem with the wireless Thread
network.
USING SYSTEM GATEWAY BUTTONS
ID Button - Side of driver near power input
•Pressing this button will be used to start a Thread
network join process. Press it when instructed to do so
by the Halio Installation app.
RESTART Button –Pinhole button on front of driver
•Click–restarts the EC Driver but does not clear any device
settings or network connections.
TROUBLESHOOTING
General Troubleshooting Tips
When you do not know where to start, think small.
•Read LEDs or error codes on one device at a time.
•Manually see if you can tint or bleach the windows using
the buttons on the left side of the driver.
•Confirm wireless communication between the Gateway
and drivers by moving drivers closer or using the external
antenna option of the Gateway.

which the receiver is connected.
•Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

Technologies could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
