roller. The CourtPac is the next generation clay tennis court
roller manufactured for ease of use, reliability and durability.
Your safety and comfort are important to us. Please take the time
to read this manual before operating the roller. It will familiarize
you with safety, operational, maintenance, and warranty
information. Follow the safety procedures and operating
instructions to ensure continued safe operation of your new roller.
The specifications and descriptions in this manual are accurate at
the time of printing. Because improvements are a constant goal at

CONTROLS
Engine Switch
The switch is located on the left side of the engine. It has two positions, OFF and
ON.
Forward/Reverse Control
The forward/reverse control is located on the dash. Push forward to operate the
vehicle in the forward direction, or pull back, to operate the vehicle in reverse
direction.

Park Brake Lever
The park brake lever is located to the right of steering column. To set the
brake, pull the brake lever towards the operator. To release park brake,
depress button on top of the lever and return lever to vertical position.
To prevent the roller from rolling, the park brake must be set whenever the
operator leaves the unit.
Emergency Shut Off Button
If the operator pushes the emergency stop button into the OFF position, the
engine will automatically shut off.
Seat Switch
The seat is equipped with an emergency engine kill switch that will shut off
engine if operator leaves seat while transmission is in gear.
BEFORE OPERATING THE ROLLER
Before operating and on a daily basis, the roller should be inspected to ensure
it is in safe operating condition.
Use the following checklist as a guide to inspect your new roller. Any
problems should be corrected before operating.
Inspection Checklist
Check engine oil.
Check transmission fluid reservoir. Make sure oil is visible between
full and fill lines in reservoir.
Check for fluid leaks.
Make sure parking brake is set by checking that lever is pulled toward
rear of unit and ratchet locking mechanism is engaged. Unit should
not move.
OPERATING THE ROLLER
Note: This machine is intended to be used only on leveled surfaces.
Starting the Roller
1. Ensure “Emergency Stop” button is in the UP position.
2. Parking brake must be fully engaged.
3. Transmission gearshift must be in NEUTRAL.

4. Turn engine switch to ON.
5. Turn engine fuel valve to ON.
6. Engage engine choke.
7. Pull-start engine.
Operating the Roller
1. Release the park brake. Be sure the engine choke is not engaged when
operating the roller.
2. Push the control lever slowly in the desired direction and the roller will
start to move.
3. Slowly increase speed to prevent front roller from pulling tennis court
surface material.
4. Continue to push lever in the desired direction until desired speed is
reached. For optimal use of the unit, you do not need to operate throttle at
highest level. A mid-range level is recommended.
Slowing and Stopping the Roller
1. To slow roller, move the forward/reverse lever toward NEUTRAL.
2. To stop the roller, move the forward/reverse lever directly to NEUTRAL.
Parking and Leaving the Roller
1. After stopping the roller, set the brake before leaving the machine.
2. Turn the engine ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
PERFORMANCE INSPECTION
After reading the instructions and familiarizing yourself with the controls, take
the roller for a test drive. Use the following list as a guide to check your new
roller. Any problems should be corrected before operating the roller.
Park Brake –When engaged and latched, the roller should be unable
to move.
Emergency Shut Off Switch –While engine is operating, push down
on emergency shut off button to ensure engine stops.
Emergency Seat Switch –While engine is operating and transmission
is slightly engaged, slightly raise your body off the seat to ensure
motor stops if operator leaves the seat while transmission is in gear.

SAFETY WARNING DECAL INFORMATION
It is important to note that some of the decals affixed to the CourtPac relate to
personal safety and are preceded by the words: WARNING or CAUTION, as
shown below.
For your protection and safety, you should take special notice of these decals.
If any of the safety decals on the CourtPac become damaged, have been
removed, or cannot be read, they should be replaced as soon as possible.
Contact your CourtPac dealer.
DISCONNECTING POWERHEAD FROM ROLLER
WARNING indicates a potentially hazardous situation
which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious
injury.
CAUTION indicates a potentially hazardous
situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor
or moderate injury.

This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to potential
personal injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that follow this
symbol to avoid possible injury or death.
To disconnect the powerhead
from the rear roller, simply pull
the lynch pin and slide the
powerhead and rear roller apart.

MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
Perform regular maintenance on the roller to ensure properly functioning
equipment. For maintenance schedule for engine, please see Honda’s owner’s
manual.

Record your Court Pac Model and Serial Number above.
Warranty
Your CourtPac has a two-year bumper to bumper warranty, under normal conditions with
regular maintenance. Har-Tru Sports warrants that CourtPac rollers will be free from defects
in materials and workmanship that develop under normal use for a period of two years from
the date of shipment from factory. Our warranty excludes normal replaceable wear items,
i.e., scraper urethane, gaskets, seats, etc. Any equipment, part or product, which is furnished
by Har-Tru Sports, but is manufactured by another, bears only the warranty given by other
such manufacturer. Warranty is voided by product abuse, alterations, and use of equipment
in applications for which it its not intended, use of non-manufacturer parts, or failure to
follow documented service instructions. Har-Tru Sports’s sole responsibility is at its option
to repair, replace or refund such product or parts upon the prepaid return thereof to location
designated specifically Har-Tru Sports.
