Limited Warranty:
HAYES warrants its products to be free from defects in materials or workmanship under
normal intended use for a period of one year (two years in European Union countries) from
the date of purchase, subject to normal wear and tear. Unless otherwise prohibited by law,
any such defective products will be repaired or replaced at the option of HAYES when received
with proof of purchase, freight prepaid. This warranty does not cover breakage, bending, or
damage that may result from crashes or falls. This warranty does not cover any defects or
damage caused by alterations or modications of HAYES products or by normal wear, accidents,
improper maintenance, damages caused by the use of HAYES products with parts of dierent
manufacturers, improper use or abuse of the product, application or uses other than those
set forth in the HAYES instruction manual or failure to follow the instructions contained in the
applicable HAYES instruction manual. Instruction manuals can be found on-line at
www.hayescomponents.com. Any modications made by the BUYER or any subsequent user
will render the warranty null and void. This warranty does not apply when the serial number or
production code has been deliberately altered, defaced or removed from the product. The cost
of normal maintenance or replacement of service items, which are not defective, shall be the
BUYER’s responsibility. If permitted by local law, this warranty is expressly in lieu of all other
warranties (except as to title), express or implied, and in particular and without limitation HAYES
disclaims the implied warranties of merchantability or tness for purpose If for any reason
warranty work is necessary, return the component to the place of purchase or contact your dealer
or local HAYES distributor. In the USA, contact HAYES for a return authorization number (RA#)
at [phone]. At that time, instructions for repair, return, or replacement shall be given.
Customers in countries other than the USA should contact their dealer or local HAYES distributor.
Limitation of Liability.
Unless required by mandatory law, HAYES shall not be liable for any incidental, indirect, special
or consequential damages.
This warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear. Wear and tear parts are subject to
damage through normal use, failure to service according to recommendations or riding in
conditions other than recommended. The cost of normal maintenance or replacement of service
items, which are not defective, shall be paid for by the original purchaser. Wear and tear parts
that will not be replaced under warranty include but are not limited to the following:

This manual is intended to provide the information necessary Service of the
SUNRINGLE Super Bubba Hubs. We highly recommend installation be performed
by a qualied mechanic. These instructions can be downloaded from the Hayes
Disc Brake website at

We highly recommend that service to this brake be performed by a certied
bicycle mechanic. Failure to follow instructions presented in this manual could

Below is a list of tools and materials necessary for Servicing Super Bubba hubs.
• Two Pin Spanner (Example: Part Tool SPA-2)
• 90 Degree Pick Tool
• Bearing Puller OR Hammer and Punch
• Bearing press

1Remove wheel from frame &
remove end caps.

Slide o the Free Hub Body.
Remove axle.

4Remove lock ring with pin
spacer. The lock ring is LEFT
HAND THREADED.
Note: if you are having a hard
time removing the lock ring
attach two disk screws in the
hub 180 degrees from each
other, use these to hold the hub
in a vise.

Remove the crush tube.
Using the 90 Degree pick tool
pry out the top rachet ring.

7Remove the bottom rachet ring
as well with the pick tool.

1Remove the rst set of Pawls and
springs, three of each, they will
side out by hand.

Remove the pawl split ring with
the pick tool.
Slide out the second set of Pawls
and springs.

4Remove the Seal from the drive
side of the Free hub.

bearing Removal
Pull out the non-drive side (NDS)
bearing from the hub, behind
this bearing is a spacer.

Pull out the drive side bearing.
Pull out the inner bearing on
the freehub body, behind this
bearing is a spacer.
4Pull out the outer bearing on the
freehub body.

1Press in a new bearing into the
Non-drive side (NDS) of the Hub.

Install the spacer and press in
the driver side (DS) bearing.
Press in the inside bearing on
the freehub body.

the outside bearing.

1Install the rst set of springs and
Pawls.

Install the Pawl split ring onto
the free hub.
Install the second set of springs
and Pawls.

4Install the seal. (note the
lip must face out toward the
cassette)
Note: the seal must sit in its
grove without being twisted or
you will experience a high drag)

1With the groove facing outward
slide the rst rachet ring down
into the hub, make sure you
have the rst lob of the rachet
ring in the rst notch of the hub.

For 8 degrees of engagement
install the second rachet ring,
with the groove up, with the rst
lob on the rachet ring in the rst
notch of the hub.
For 4 degrees of engagement
install the second rachet ring,
with the groove up, with the
rst lob on the rachet ring in the
second notch of the hub.

4Reinstall the rachet ring with the
pin spanner tool.

Slide the axle back into the hub.
Install the crush tube.

7Install the Free Hub Body onto
the axle.

Once the freehub is resting on
the hub, depress all three pawls
of the rst set and push down,
this will allow the freehub to
move into the hub up to the
second set of Pawls.
Repeat step 8 with the second
set of Pawls.

10 Press the freehub body down
fully making sure the seal does
not get folded over.

Press the none drive side (NDS)
end cap on, press till the cap
touches the hub bearing, this
sets the axle.
Press on the drive side (DS)
endcap.
