HIMAC BENCH SAW
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
SECTION 1
Before attempting to operate saw, please check the following:
•All guards are in place and secure.
•Machine is on level ground.
•Blade is in good condition.
•Blade securing nut is tight.
•Belts are not worn or cracked.
•Check the fuel and oil of engine.
•Check all nuts and bolts to make sure they are tight.
•Inflate tyres to correct tyre pressure (20psi)
SECTION 2
Procedure for starting manual start engines.
•Make sure bench is in open position.
•Turn on kill switch and fuel.
•Turn choke on and give ¼throttle.
•Lift motor plate to release tension on belts-use brackets.
•Pull start cord to start engine.
•When engine is running, turn off choke.
•Slowly lower engine so belts tighten and turn shaft.
•Increase revs on engine.
•Do not exceed 1000rpms shaft speed.

SECTION 3
While operating saw, observe the following procedures:
•Always wear safety glasses.
•Always wear ear protection.
•Always wear protective clothing.
•Always cut straight logs.
•Always push bench with one hand on handle and the other on log.
•Keep both hands on left hand side of the blade at all times.
•Keep hands at least 200mm away from blade.
•Do not touch any moving parts while machine is operating.
•Do not leave machine running unattended.
•Do not allow logs to pile higher than ¾of the wheel height.
•Always keep operating area clear.
•Do not allow an untrained or unskilled person to operate.
•If severe vibrations occur, shut machine down and do not operate.
•Do not cut logs that are shorter than 300mm.
•Do not cut logs that are smaller than 2” (50mm) diameter.
•Do not move machine while it is operating.
•Do not cut steel objects such as nails, bolts or wire left on timber.
SECTION 4
When shutting down engine:
•Slow engine down to idle before turning off kill switch.
•Secure the table in the closed position before transporting.
•Keep machine covered when not in use.
SECTION 5
General:
•Grease bearings annually only using 1-2 pumps.
•Table is adjusted to open position by using the chain lengths behind table.
•Table is best situated approximately 25mm (1”) in front of blade.

PTO DRIVE MACHINES
Please note: PTO shaft must be disconnected before raising
machine or damage could result to the shaft and/or gearbox.
Once sawbench is coupled to three point linkage you may need to adjust
shaft length. This must be measured and cut with machine lowered to
working position.
Make sure that there is no less than 100mm of shaft overlapping each other
when it is connected to PTO.
Remember to attach safety chain from cover to frame.
PTO speed to machine should be 475 rpm.
(‘L’ box is 1-1.91 ratio. Blade should run at 900 rpm)
