Fast cutting speed thanks to high-power motor
The Model CR 13V2 can cut various types of construction materials fast and efficiently thanks to a high-
power motor with more than 1000 W of maximum output.
Speed selectable switch trigger
The Model CR 13V2 is equipped with an electronic control circuit for steplessly adjusting cutting speed by
means of a switch trigger, depending on the work conditions and type of workpiece.
Tool-less blade detachable mechanism (Same as Model CR 13VBY)
Recently, most saber saws on the market are coming
equipped with a mechanism that requires no hexagonal
wrench or other tool for mounting and removing saw blades.
The Model CR 13V2 is also equipped with such a mechanism
that enables speedy blade replacement.
Simply pressing a lever to easily mount or remove the saw
blade.
Saw blade mountable in either up or down direction
The Model CR 13V2 is convenient for cutting materials on the floor or near a wall, and also for plunge
cutting on plywood panels since the saw blade can be inversely mounted into position.
Dust-and water-resistant triple-sealing construction
The Model CR 13V2 has a triple-sealing construction that protects against large amounts of dust generated
from the cutting of construction materials such as autoclaved lightweight concrete panels, and also seals
out waste water during pipe-cutting work.

Conventional high-speed steel blades tend to break easily in such heavy applications as house
demolition work. To cope with this problem, the bimetal blades listed in the table below are provided as
optional accessories. These bimetal blades are tough and rarely break thanks to two different types of
steel combined via electron-beam welding. A very hard steel called "DM05" (JIS SKH51 or equivalent
molybdenum containing high-speed steel) or "Matrix II" (JIS SKH56 or equivalent cobalt containing
high-speed steel) is used along the cutting edges, with flexible spring steel used for the main blade body.
As a result, the bimetal blades are significantly stronger than conventional high-speed steel blades.

1. Safety instructions
In the interest of promoting the safest and most efficient use of the Model CR 13V2 Reciprocating Saw by
all of our customers, it is very important when concluding a sale that the salesperson carefully ensure that
the buyer seriously recognizes the importance of the Handling Instructions, and fully understands the
precautions listed on the Caution Plate and Nameplate attached to each tool.
A. Handling instructions
Although every effort is made in each step of design, manufacture, and inspection to provide protection
against safety hazards, the dangers inherent in the use of any electric tool cannot be completely eliminated.
Accordingly, the Handling Instructions list general precautions and suggestions on the use of electric power
tools, and specific precautions and suggestions on the use of the Reciprocating Saw in order to enhance
the safe, efficient use of the tool by the customer. Salespersons must be thoroughly familiar with the
contents of the Handling Instructions in order to offer appropriate guidance to customers during sales
promotion activities.
B. Caution plate
The Model CR 13V2 unit is provided with a Caution Plate (illustrated below) that lists basic safety
precautions on use. Make sure that the customer fully understands and follows these precautions before
using the tool.

1. Precautions in disassembly and reassembly
The [Bold] numbers in the description below correspond to the item numbers in the Parts List and the
exploded assembly diagram for the Model CR 13V2.
Before starting disassembling or replacing the blade, be sure to disconnect the power plug from the power
supply.
1. Disassembling the Front Cover (F) (Fig. 1)
Use a flat-blade screwdriver or similar tool to remove the Nylock Bolt (W/Flange) M5 x 12 [15], Base (F) [1],
and Cover Pin [3], and then pull the Front Cover (F) [2] away from the main body.
2. Disassembling the Gear Cover (F) (Figs. 2 and 4) and blade mount (Fig. 3)
With the armature assembly fan secured, loosen the Nylock Bolt (W/Flange) M6 x 35 [16] beforehand
(about two turns). Remove the four Machine Screws (W/Washers) M5 x 60 (Black) [47], and then remove
the Gear Cover (F) [4] from the main body. Remove the Nylock Bolt (W/Flange) M6 x 35 [16] and Washer
(G) [17]. The Second Shaft (F) [31] and Sub Shaft (B) [26] can now be removed from the Gear Cover (F)
[4] as one assembly.

Next, use your fingers to extract the rubber Cap [18] sideways from the Lever (C) [22]. Remove the Special
Bolt M5 [21]. The Blade Holder (C) [5], Lever (C) [22], Blade Spring [23], Holder Pin (B) [19], and Spring
(B) [20] can now be removed from the Plunger (F) [12].
Be careful not to lose or damage the Spring (B) [20].
Remove the Plunger (F) [12] from the Gear Cover (F) [4], and then remove the Connector Pin (F) [13] and
two Swing Rollers [14].
Be careful not to damage the Felt Washer [6], V-Ring [8], and O-Ring [9].
As the Metal (B) [10] is press-fit into the Gear Cover (F) [4], use a press or similar tool to push it out of
position. Then remove the V-Ring [8], Washer (H) [7], and Felt Washer [6]. Use a thin flat-blade
screwdriver or similar tool to remove the O-Ring [9] inside the Metal (B) [10]. Then remove the three Nylock
Bolts (W/Flange) M4 x 12 [25] and remove the Ball Bearing 6002DDCMPS2L [24].

3. Disassembling the Second Shaft (F) (Fig. 5)
First, remove the Ball Bearing 608VVC2PS2L [33] from the Second Shaft (F) [31]. With a lateral surface of
the Gear (F) [32] being received, use a press to push the end face of the Second Shaft (F) [31] and remove
the Gear (F) [32] from the Second Shaft (F) [31]. Then remove the Retaining Ring For D17 Shaft [27] from
the Second Shaft (F) [31]. With a lateral surface of the Recipro Plate (F) [28] being received, use a press to
push the end face of the Second Shaft (F) [31] (i.e., surface parallel to lateral surface of the Recipro Plate
(F) [28]) and remove the Recipro Plate (F) [28] as one assembly. Finally, remove the Retaining Ring For
D35 Hole [30] and then remove the two Ball Bearings 6003VVCM (Nylon Retainer) [29] from the Recipro
Plate (F) [28].
4. Disassembling the Inner Cover (F) and Housing (Fig. 6)
Remove the two Brush Caps [44] and two Carbon Brushes [45]. Use a plastic hammer to gently strike the
front ventilator window of the Housing [43]. This will separate the Inner Cover (F) [34] and Armature [37]
from the Housing [43]. Do not to strike the fan with the plastic hammer. Also remove the Fan Guide (F) [38]
in the Housing [43].

With the end face of the Inner Cover (F) [34] being received, use a press to push the pinion end face of the
Armature [37] and extract the Armature [37]. Then remove the Ball Bearing 6001VVCMPS2L [35] after
removing the two Slotted Hd. Screws (Seal Lock) M4 x 10 [36].
6. Disassembling the Handle (G) and Handle (H) (Fig. 8)
Remove the five Tapping Screws (W/Flange) D4 x 25 (Black) [50], and then remove the Handle (H) [51].
The Switch [53] can now be removed.

Note the two lead wires connected to the Stator Ass’y [40] and the two lead wires connected to the Cord
[61]. Loosen the machine screw on the Switch [53]. The Switch [53] can now be removed from the Handle
(G) [57]. Also remove the two Tapping Screws (W/Flange) D4 x 16 [58], and then remove the Cord Clip
[59], Cord [61], and Cord Armor [60] from the Handle (G) [57].
8. Disassembling the Housing and Stator Ass’y (Fig. 10)
Remove the brush terminal of the Stator Ass’y [40] from the Brush Holder [46], remove the two Hex. Hd.
Tapping Screws D5 x 55 [39], and then separate the Stator Ass’y [40] from the Housing [43]. Also use a
flat-blade screwdriver or similar tool to push the Brush Holder [46] out of the Housing [43]. (Note that the
Brush Holder [46] is not secured with a screw or adhesive.)

Reassembly can be accomplished by following the disassembly procedures in reverse. However,
particular attention should be given to the following items.
1. Mounting the Recipro Plate (F) assembly on the Second Shaft (F) (Fig. 11)
For press-fitting, use the dedicated jig (J-315). First, form the Recipro Plate (F) [28] assembly by attaching
the two Ball Bearings 6003VVCM (Nylon Retainer) [29] and Retaining Ring For D35 Hole [30] to the
Recipro Plate (F) [28].
(a) With the Gear (F) [32] and Ball Bearing 608VVC2PS2L [33] not incorporated
As shown in Fig. 11-a, mount the Recipro Plate (F) [28] assembly and the Second Shaft (F) [31] on the
jig, and then use a press to push in the direction of the arrow.
(b) With the Gear (F) [32] and Ball Bearing 608VVC2PS2L [33] incorporated
As shown in Fig. 11-b, mount the Recipro Plate (F) [28] assembly and the Second Shaft (F) [31] on the
jig, and then use a press to push in the direction of the arrow.
When press-fitting the Recipro Plate (F) [28] assembly, be sure to apply pressure in the correct
direction.

2. Mounting the Metal (B) on the Gear Cover (F) (Fig. 12)
First, apply Nippeco SEP-3A to the inner periphery of the Metal (B) [10] and O-Ring [9], and then fit the
O-Ring [9] into the internal groove of the Metal (B) [10].
Insert the Felt Washer [6], Washer (H) [7], and V-Ring [8] into the Gear Cover (F) [4] in this order. Then
press-fit the Metal (B) [10] until striking bottom. (Note that one end of the Metal (B) [10] is provided with an
inspection hole.) It is very important to insert the Felt Washer [6], Washer (H) [7], and V-Ring [8]
individually into the specified positions on the Gear Cover (F) [4]. If these parts are not properly inserted
into position, press-fitting the Metal (B) [10] may cause parts to break, Plunger (F) [12] mounting failure,
and impaired dustproofness or waterproofness.
Also ensure that the V-Ring [8] is properly oriented when inserted.
3. Mounting the Ball Bearing 6002DDMPS2L on the Gear Cover (F) (Fig. 13)
When mounting the Ball Bearing 6002DDCMPS2L [24] on the Gear Cover (F) [4], ensure that the Ball
Bearing 6002DDCMPS2L [24] abuts on the Gear Cover (F) [4]. Also tighten all three Nylock Bolts
(W/Flange) M4 x 12 [25] two times at the specified torque.
The product may be damaged if the Ball Bearing 6002DDCMPS2L [24] is improperly mounted or the
Nylock Bolts (W/Flange) M4 x 12 [25] are improperly tightened.

4. Mounting the Plunger (F) on the Gear Cover (F) (Fig. 14)
Apply Nippeco SEP-3A to the outer periphery of the Connector Pin (F) [13] and the inner periphery of the
two Swing Rollers [14], and then incorporate these parts into the Plunger (F) [12]. Next, apply Nippeco
SEP-3A to the polished portion of the Plunger (F) [12], and then insert the Plunger (F) [12] into the Gear
Cover (F) [4]. Here, insert the Plunger (F) [12] while slowly rotating it both clockwise and counterclockwise
to avoid damaging the Felt Washer [6], V-Ring [8], and O-Ring [9]. Please remember that the Felt Washer
[6] can be inadvertently pulled out by the Plunger (F) [12].
5. Reassembling the Blade Mount (Figs. 15 to 19)
First, insert the Spring (B) [20] and Holder Pin (B) [19] into the Plunger (F) [12]. Apply Nippeco SEP-3A to
the sloped portion of the Lever (C) [22], incorporate the shorter leg of the Blade Spring [23] into the Lever
(C) [22], and then incorporate the Lever (C) [22] into the Blade Holder (C) [5]. This step can be easily
accomplished by using your finger to push the longer leg of the Blade Spring [23] into the Lever (C) [22]
(see Fig. 15), while tilting the Blade Spring [23]) inside the Blade Holder (C) [5] as shown in Fig. 15. With
the resulting state being maintained as shown in Fig. 16, insert the Blade Holder (C) [5] from the leading
end of the Plunger (F) [12].
Make adjustments until the bolt hole on the Blade Holder (C) [5] becomes visible from the hole on the Lever
(C) [22], insert the Special Bolt M5 [21] into position, and then tighten the Special Bolt M5 [21] and Lock
Nut M5 [11] at the specified torque. Here, be careful not to excessively tighten the Special Bolt M5 [21] and
Lock Nut M5 [11]; otherwise, the Lever (C) [22] will be damaged. Press the rubber Cap [18] laterally
against the Lever (C) [22] in the downward arrow direction, confirm that there is no gap between the Cap
[18] and Blade Holder (C) [5], and then properly reassemble the blade mount. Finally, mount and demount
a blade in order to check the blade mount for any abnormalities.
