The HOMEGUARD HG3000 is a mains powered,
photoelectric smoke alarm that operates on a 240VAC
power source with a 9VDC battery backup. This
smoke alarm has the ability to function as a stand
alone unit or in an interconnected system. This smoke
alarm uses photoelectric sensing technology and do
not contain any radioactive material.
The HOMEGUARD HG3000 has new circuitry
designed with improved resilience to electrical
interferences and ripple control signals. The HG3000
smoke alarm complies with AS3786:2014 standard
and is Activfire listed with a 5 year warranty.

FUNCTION
STANDBY CONDITION: The red LED will flash every 40
seconds to indicate that the smoke alarm is operating properly.
ALARM CONDITION: When the alarm senses products of
combustion and goes into alarm the red LED will flash one
flash per second. The flashing LED and pulsating alarm will
continue until the air is cleared. When units are interconnected,
only the red LED of the alarm that senses the smoke or is
being tested (the originating unit) will flash. All other units in the
interconnected system will sound an alarm but their red LED’s
will NOT flash.
HUSH MODE: The red LED will illuminate for every 8 seconds,
indicating the smoke alarm is in the Hush Mode. Pressing and
releasing the Test button the smoke alarm will enter Hush mode.
INSTALLATION OF THE SMOKE ALARM
The HOMEGUARD smoke alarm is easy to install. The unit is
fitted on a base plate with multiple fixing holes. The smoke
alarm is connected to power on a 3 pin terminal block on the
base plate. The smoke alarm easily slides on the base plate for
positive power connection.
This alarm cannot be operated from power derived from a
square wave, modified square wave or modified sine wave
inverter. These type of inverters are sometimes used to supply
power to the structure in off grid installations, such as solar or
wind derived power sources. These power sources produce
high peak voltages that will damage the alarm.
Installing smoke alarm on its own subcircuit will avoid
false alarms and nuisance chirping that may be caused by
electromagnetic interferences from other electrical equipment.
The HOMEGUARD HG3000 is not designed to be
interconnected with other brands or products. Should other
