1 Introduction
This document outlines the tasks to be completed to prepare a CT60 handheld device
that will be used for a WTS project.
It mainly consists in installing a few pieces of software and applying a few settings. This
operation should take less than 15 minutes per device
2 Pre-requisite
1- Get a micro SD Card with mobile apps to be installed
The WTS and SOTI mobile apps to be installed on the CT60 device should be copied on a
micro SD card.
2- Be connected on Internet through a Wifi network
Connect the CT60 on a Wifi network enabling Internet access.
Please refer to Google Android help or CT60 help to connect to a Wifi network.
3 Preparation steps
Step 1 – Install Micro SD Card
Remove CT60 battery at the back of the device and place the micro SD card in the slot

Step 2 – Start-up
Turn on the device. Android OS is starting up. The first time you power on the device, a
welcome screen appears. Follow the prompts on the screen as the setup wizard asks you
to:
• Set the default language to English
• Set up the Wi-Fi network connections
• Personalize (name) the device
• Set up security and privacy options
Step 3 – Set up the barcode scanner
Go to Settings, then Scanning. Select Internal scanner, then Default profile
Data Processing Settings
Suffix property will add a default value to the end of scanned barcode after each scan.
Normally, when you scan a barcode, you need to manually press enter on keypad in
order to add the scanned tracking number to the list.
Add carriage return (“\n”) as suffix as shown below.

Symbology Settings
In this screen, you can enable/disable different barcode types on PDA.
Make sure the following symbology are enabled:
• Code 128
• GS1-128
• Code 39
• Datamatrix
• UPC-A
• UPC-E
• EAN-8
• EAN-13
• Aztec
• Codabar
• Interleaved 2 of 5
• PDF417
• QR Code

Step 4 – Set up the Display
Go to Settings then Display.
Turn ON the Adaptative brightness setting.
Then set Sleep time to 5 minutes
Step 5 – Language Settings
In order to change the language on WTS, you need to add your desired language in
Android OS, then move it at the top in the list of available languages.
In Settings, select Languages & Input section.
When you tap on Languages, Language preferences screen will be displayed.

Let’s say that we want to use WTS App in French. You need to add French language to
the list of available languages, then move it to the top of the list.
To add a language, tap Add a language and then select it in the list.
Now when you open WTS App, language has been changed to French.
Depending on where the CT60 will be delivered, we will add the following languages:

Step 6 – Setting Battery Maximizer
In order to set battery utilization plan on CT60, you need to look for Battery Maximizer
option in Honeywell Settings section.
Tap on Battery Maximizer to open settings page. Select High Energy Server option in
the list.
Tap on back button on PDA to return to main Settings screen.

Step 7 – Installing WTS and SOTI apps
Copy installation files on local storage memory
Launch ES file Explorer
Go to Storage, IPSM directory
Create a “CT60” directory
Copy SOTI and WTS directories from the SD card to IPSM/CT60 directory
Enable installation of apps out of Google Play store
In order to install an app out of the Google Play app store, you need to enable the
installation from unknown source.
To do so, go to Settings and look for Security section in the menu
Tap on Security to open Security page. Move down in the list and look for option Allow
Installation of apps from unknown sources. By default, this option is not activated. Tap
on toggle button to activate this option.

A warning message will pop up. Tap on OK button to confirm the change.

Install WTS
Launch WTS apk from the WTS directory in the CT60 directory.
When you tap on install button, WTS installation screen will be displayed. Click on install
button to launch installation process.
Installation only takes few seconds to be completed.

Once installation is terminated, you tap on Open button to start using WTS application.
Opening WTS app for the first time, you will see screen below.

When you click on Continue button, you will view a new screen where you should enter
provided Installation code as well as URL to connect to WTS web application.
Enter activation code created when setting up the customer account in WTS and set
system URL to https://wtscloud.neopost.com
Clicking on Register button, a message will confirm that registration has been
successful. By closing the confirmation message, you will be redirected to the WTS login
page.

When login page is opened for the first time, a message will
be asked to allow WTS application to access photos on CT60.
You should accept this option.
You need to enter your username and password to sign in to mobile application.
In case you have problem signing in, please make sure that you enter correct username
and password. Please remember that password is case sensitive.
Please note that you will not be able to login if you do not have internet connection on
your CT60 the first time that you sign in. When you are signed in, before viewing WTS
application’s main page, synchronization process will be launched to download reference
data as well as the list of packages that have been added to WTS.

Before installing MobiControl APK, make sure that you are connected to internet and
there are is no firewall that blocks your connection.
Install MobiControl APK. Once installed, you will be asked to enter Enroll Id that you have
received from system administrator. If you are behind firewall, it might not work even if
you have entered the right code (I had to connect mobile device via my mobile’s internet
connection) to be able to register enroll ID successfully.
Copy SOTI APK file and (HoneywellMobiControl1360NewGen_1045.apk) and
mcsetup.ini file in the “IPSM card”directory.
Go to « Download » section in the list of Android apps and select “IPSM Card” in the list
of downloads

Tap on « INSTALL »

Installation process is running. Once done, tap on “OPEN” to launch SOTI
SOTI app is launching and enroll your CT60 device automatically on the SOTI server.
