CLEANER MAINTENANCE
For models equipped with LED display, * (see ) both full bag and lter cleaning
are signaled by a specic red light on the display.
For models equipped with rotary knob control (see D1), the red LED turns on if
the bag is full and/or if some obstructions occur.
Replacing the Dust Bag
Please check the bag, if necessary, replace it.
1. Press the bag door release latch and open the bag door.

2. Lift the handle of the bag holder up.

3. Hold the bag with the holder over a bin. Press the red button to automatically release
the bag without any contact with dust.

4. Fold a new bag and insert the collar into the bag holder.

5. Ret the bag with holder back into the appliance.

6. Close the bag door.
WARNING: The bag door will NOT close if the dust bag and/or the bag holder are not
assembled to the cleaner. Always ensure the bag is present when closing the bag door.
REMEMBER: The bag check indicator also turns red (F or )** if an obstruction occurs. In
this case refer to ‘Removing a Blockage from the System’.
Cleaning the Filters
To ensure constant optimum cleaning performances:
- For models equipped with LED display* (see ): please wash the lters when
the lter indicator red light is on and then press the MANUAL MODE activation
button for 3 seconds to turn off the red indicator light.
- For models not equipped with LED display, please wash the lters after each
5 bag changes.
Cleaning the pre-motor lter:
1. Lift the bag door release latch to open bag door and remove the bag. [11,12]
2. Remove the pre-motor lter frame from the cleaner. [19]
3. Remove the lter from the pre-motor lter frame. [20]
4. Wash the pre-motor lter and the pre-motor lter frame using warm water, and allow
it to dry thoroughly before inserting into the cleaner. [20,21]
Cleaning the exhaust lter:
1. Unclip the exhaust lter cover and remove the exhaust lter pack. [17,18]
2. Wash the exhaust lter pack under warm water, and allow it to dry thoroughly before
inserting into the cleaner. [20,21]
Remember: Do not use hot water or detergents. In the unlikely event of the lters
becoming damaged, t a Genuine Hoover replacement. Do not try and use the product
without dust bag or lters tted.
Cleaning the permanent cloth dust bag* (*Certain model only)
To maintain optimum performance we recommended that you wash the permanent cloth
dust bag after every 5 full bags. Empty the contents of the bag into a bin, wash the bag
under warm water, remove excess water and leave to dry fully before replacing.
Removing a blockage from the system
If the bag check indicator remains lit (F or ):
1. Check if the bag is full. If so refer to ‘Replacing the Dust Bag’.
2. If it is not full, then
A. Do the lters need cleaning? If so refer to ‘Cleaning the Filters’.
B. Check if there is any other blockage in the system.
- Use a cord or a stick to remove any blockage from the telescopic tube or exible hose.
Warning - The bag check indicator will remain red*or lit* if the cleaner is used when
the bag is full, if there is a blockage or if the lters are dirty. If the cleaner is used for a
signicant period of time with the bag check indicator illuminated, a thermal cut out will
switch the cleaner off to prevent overheating. The bag check indicator turns off once
the cleaner has switched off to signal that the thermal cut out has been activated. If this
should happen, switch the cleaner off, unplug and correct the fault. It will take about 30
minutes for the cut out to automatically reset.
ACCESSORIES
To obtain the best performance and efciency it is recommended that the correct nozzles
are used for the main cleaning operations. These nozzles are indicated in the diagrams
by the letters GP, HF or CA.
A nozzle type GP can be used to clean both carpet and hard oor.
A nozzle type HF is suitable for use only on hard oor.
A nozzle of type CA is suitable for use only on carpet.
The other nozzles are accessories for specialist cleaning tasks and are recommended
for occasional use only.
All accessories can be tted to the end of the hose handle or to the end of the xed tube
(except for dusting brush).
The Crevice Tool and Furniture nozzle are stored on the tube, while the Dusting brush is
stored underneath the hose handle.
• Crevice Tool * – For corners and hard to reach areas.
• Dusting Brush * – For bookshelves, frames, keyboards and other delicate areas.
• Furniture Nozzle * – For soft furnishings and fabrics.
• C&F Nozzle : For carpets and hard oors.
• Parquet Nozzle* – For parquet oors and other delicate oors.
• Pet Hair Remover Mini Turbo Nozzle* – Use the mini turbo nozzle on stairs or for deep
cleaning on textile surfaces.
IMPORTANT: Do not use mini turbo nozzle on rugs with long fringes, animal hides and
carpet pile deeper than 15mm. Do not keep the nozzle stationary while the brush is
rotating.
