Maintaining performance
FILTER SYSTEM
There are 3 filters and a vortex tube. The HEPA and foam pre-motor filters and vortex tube
are located beneath the dust container lid (14a . The exhaust filter is located below the dust
container (16b .
REMEMBER – Always switch off and unplug the machine from the electricity supply before
maintaining your cleaner.
14 Cleaning the pre-motor filters
For optimum performance clean the HEPA pre-motor and foam pre-motor filter after each
dust container empty.
(14a Rotate the pre-motor filters cover anticlockwise.
(14b The HEPA and foam pre-motor filters and the vortex tube are attached to the lid.
(14c Remove the vortex tube.
(14d Remove the foam filter.
(14e Tap the HEPA pre-motor filter against an hard surface and shake the foam filter to
remove dust.
15 Washing the pre-motor filters
For optimum performance wash the pre-motor filters after 5 dust container empties.
(15a Wash the HEPA and foam pre-motor filters under hand warm water.
If preferred, remove the HEPA filter from the lid prior washing (15b .
Do not scrub and do not use detergents. Allow to air dry thoroughly before refitting.
Reassemble the components by reversing the above process.
16 Exhaust filter maintenance
The exhaust filter requires little or no maintenance and should only need checking if there is a
drop in performance.
To access the exhaust filter, remove the dust container from the cleaner (16a . Press the filter
release button to release the exhaust filter (16b and 16c . Do not scrub and do not use
detergents. Allow to air dry thoroughly before refitting.
REMEMBER – To maintain optimum cleaning performance it is imperative to wash the HEPA
pre-motor filter and foam pre-motor filter every 5 dust container empties.
