DISHWASHER
Caution

- The dishwasher must first be disconnected from the electricity supply before any repairs or other work can be carried out.
Switch off at the mains socket and water supply and remove the plug.

Thesefaultsarereportedbyoneor

flashingrapidly.Take noteofwhich
lightsareflashing,turntheappliance
offandcallHotpointServicefortech-
nicalassistance.
Tapoffalarm
Ifyouhaveforgottentoturnthewa-
tertapon,yourappliancewillre-
mindyouofthisbysoundingafew
shortbeepsforafewminutes.Turn
thetaponandyourappliancewill
startupagainafterafewminutes.
Wereyoutobeabsentwhenthese
beepsaresounded,theappliance
willbeblockedautomaticallyand
cyclephase2and3indicatorlights
(wash and rinse)willflashrapidly.
TurntheapplianceoffattheON-
OFFbutton,turnonthewatertap
andwaitapproximately20seconds
beforeturningtheapplianceback
on.
Re-selectthewashcycleandthe
appliancewillstartupagain.
Cloggedfilteralarm
If the appliance is blocked and
cyclephase1and3indicatorlights
(pre-washandrinses)flashrapidly,
thismeansthefilteriscloggedby
largeparticlesoffoodresidue.Turn
the appliance off, clean the filter
thoroughly and reposition it in its
seatasillustratedonpage13.Then
turntheappliancebackon.
Re-select a wash cycle as indi-
cated in the "Selecting the wash
cycle"paragraphandtheappliance
willstart.
Water load solenoid valve
malfunction alarm.
Ifindicatorlight2(wash)flashes
rapidly,TURNthedishwasher
OFFANDBACKONAGAIN
afteroneminute.Ifthealarm
persists,firstturnoffthewater
taptoavoidanyfloodingandthen
cutofftheelectricitysupplyand
callfortechnicalassistance.

Switchoffatthemainssocket
and remove the plug. Turn
offthe water supply.

Resolving minor problems yourself.
Experience has shown that you can resolve most problems that arise during normal daily usage yourself, without having
to call out a service engineer. Not only does this save costs but it also means the appliance is available for use again
that much sooner. The following list of common occurences and their remedies should help you identify the causes of
most problems.
