Table 2-1 Composition and functions of each functional subsystem of the BTS3X
Functional
Subsystem Composition Function
TMU Provides the timing, transmission, and management functions for
the BTS.
TDU Transfers the clock signals received from the TMU and other
signals to other units.
ASU Completes the photoelectric conversion, provides E1 port and
self-rate cross connection between E1s.
PAT Realize order communication with local transmission equipment,
far end photoelectric conversion, multiplexing and demultiplexing
of data, remote delay control, and far end delay control and
ranging.
TES Provides power suppliers for the TEU and transfers
communication.
ABB Provides the Abis bypass, relays the BTS transmission, and
provides the transmission trunk loopback.
ABA Aids the ABB to communicate with the TMU.
PSU Provides the system with DC power supply.
PMU Manages the power supply and collects alarms.
FMU Manages and controls the fan in the fan box to ensure good heat
dissipation of the BTS.
EMU Monitors the environment inside the cabinet and collects alarm
information.
EMUA Monitors the environment outside the cabinet and collects alarm
information.
Common
Subsystem
SPD Protect the power supply system from lightning.
TRX Supports multiple frequency bands, receives the management and
configuration information sent by the TMU, and reports its own
status and alarm information.
PBU Enhance the effective transmission power of the antenna to
enlarge the coverage area of the BTS.
CDU Completes the duplexing of the reception and transmission
signals, filters and combines transmission signals, filters,
amplifies low noise, combines the receiving signals, and feeds the
TMA.
Signal
Processing
Subsystem
ECDU Provides similar functions with that provided by the CDU.
The difference between the CDU and the ECDU is that: a signal
port of the ECDU supports the maximum input power of 100 W,
but the CDU support the maximum input power of 60 W.
