HUGHES BOX BLIND
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
FOR HP-67000
Note: It will take two (2) people to assemble this box blind.
You must read all instructions before starting assembly!
(When referring to wall letters(A,B,C,&D), all walls are identical except when
referring to Wall D, which is the panel with your door cut out.)
TOOLS REQUIRED FOR ASSEMBLY:
Cordless drill Measuring tape
Phillips head drill bit Adjustable wrench or pliers

(1) Roof (1) 2 x 4 x 49 1/2" for wall support #1
(1) Package with screws, nuts, & bolts (extras (2) 2 x 4 x 45 1/2" for wall support #2 & #3
included in case of losing them) (1) 2 x 4 x 42" for wall support #4
(3) Walls with windows cut out (2) 2 x 4 x 31- 3/4" door frame #5 & #6
(1) Wall with window and door cut out
**Platform for flooring is not included. We recommend using a 4 x 4 ft, 1/2" thick, piece of
plywood as flooring.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) With wall panels A & B vertical, one person stands on the inside with nuts & the other on the
outside with the screws (8-32 x 3/4) (See Fig.1). Overlap the offset corner of Panel A with Panel
B. Using the predrilled holes, starting at the top insert screws (8-32 x 3/4) one at a time down the
edge of Panel B. DO NOT PUT A SCREW IN THE 3RD HOLE UP FROM THE
BOTTOM. A WOOD SCREW, #10 X 1", WILL GO THERE AT A LATER TIME
DURING ASSEMBLY. DO NOT PUT A SCREW IN THE BOTTOM HOLE OF EACH
PANEL UNTIL FLOORING IS PLACED AT END OF ASSEMBLY. Make sure panels are
tight against each other before you insert each screw.
2) Repeat above steps on panels A & C. Now attach panel D (door panel)to panels B & C.
3) Place roof over the top of the panels. With one person inside and one out, insert screws (8-32
x 3/4) from the outside into predrilled holes along the bottom edge of roof panel. Again make
sure roof panel is tight against the wall panel before you insert each screw. Note: Some screw
holes may not line up. In the event this happens, re-drill holes from the outside of the roof
to line up with holes in the panels.
***The next steps are for the optional use of 2 x 4's for extra support. If you
choose not to do this feature skip to step 8 to complete assembly of your box
blind.
4) On the inside of the box blind, insert 2 x 4 #1 into the horizontal grove in the side Panel D,
just above the door and below the window (see Fig. II). Make sure the 2 x 4 #1 is pushed tight
against the right side lip of Panel D. Now from the outside, insert screws#10 x 1 into the 2 x 4
through predrilled holes of Panel D. On the CORNER, make sure Panels D & B are tight against
each other before you secure the screw.
5) Install 2 x 4 #2 into Panel B just as instructed above. Make sure 2 x 4 #2 is pushed tight
against the side of 2 x 4 #1. Insert screws #10 x 1 from outside.
6) Install 2 x 4 #3 into Panel C just as instructed above. Make sure 2 x 4 #3 is pushed tight
against the side of 2 x 4 #1. Insert screws #10 x 1 from outside.
7) Install 2 x 4 #4 into Panel A just as instructed above. Make sure 2 x 4 #4 is tight against the
sides of 2 x 4 #2 and #3. Insert screws #10 x 1 from outside. Now from the inside of the box

blind, connect the 2 x 4's to each other in corners using #8 x 1 3/4" wood screws provided (see
Fig. III).
Floor Insertion:
8) When inserting flooring into your box blind, lay it on top of lip on inside of box blind bottom.
The plywood must be placed on top of the lip of the wall. Insert 8-32 x 3/4" screws into the
bottom predrilled hole on each panel corner.
