The four indent crimp tool 7.000.900.901 has been developed f or op t ima l c ri mping of
machined con tacts with diame ters from 0 .14 to 6.0 mm2 {26 through 10 AWG).
H ow to Cri mp
Th e reference table i ndica tes the cor rect locato r position to be se lected a nd the cri mp
depth to be adjusted for the contact to be crimped. The con ta ct is then in sert ed through
th e access hole of the too l on the opposite side of the loca t or . Th e contact is held in place
by closing the handles to the first loc k-in posit ion thus preve nting the contact from fa lling
out of the t ool and facilitating insertion of the wire in to th e contact.
The precision ratchet assures consistently
accurate cr imping every time by forcing the tool
to
be closed all th e way comp let ing th e crimping cycle be f ore the too l con be opened
aga in.
Exc han ge of the Locator
The l ocator con be excha nged by removing the socket head cap screw with a socket wrench.
II con then be disassembled from the hex head screw by tu rning it counter-clockwise.

Crimp depth can be adjus t ed as follows:
Turn the ad justing screw clockwise for reducing the crimp depth and counter - clock·
wise for increasing the crimp dep t h.
Adjustment Increments:
1 space on the adjust i ng screw
1 full rotation of adjust i ng screw

as well as on the rough scale)

Control of Crimp Deptn
Crimp tool adjustment is done at the factory , but with frequent use, period ic calibra-
tion is recommended to insure accuracy. This is easily accomp lished with a 2.0 mm 0
wire gouge as fo ll ows.
A crimp depth of 2.0mm is set by means of the ad justing screw (scale mark at ,.2",
screw mark at ,.0" as shown in the fi g. above) and the too l in the closed position.
After inserti on of the gouge, there must be just enough space for moving the gouge
inside the entry h ole. If the opening is too small or too large to exactly match the
gouge, the deviation (+/ ·) con be chec ked by the precis ion setting of the screw.
Please
contact the factory in case the deviation exceeds the tolerances specified by
the contract manufacturer.
Maintenan ce and Repair
Keep the tool clean and properly stored when not in service. All pi vot points need to
be oi l ed regularly and t he spring clips securing the bolts h ove to always be in place.
For repair please send the tool bock to the factory.
