IMPORTANT: Read all warnings before you begin.
CAUTIONS
• Read entire installation instructions carefully before beginning
installation and save these instructions.
• To avoid possible risk of electrical shock and  re, install this light
 xture only on Hunter fans, models 23720, 23721, and Hunter type
A-Z. Note: To  nd the fan model number, check the ceiling fan
package or on the nameplate label located on top of the motor
housing of the ceiling fan.
WARNINGS
• To avoid possible electrical shock, before installing
light  xtures disconnect power by turning o the
circuit breakers both to the outlet box and to its
associated wall switch location. If you cannot lock the
circuit breakers in the o position, securely fasten a
prominent warning device, such as a tag, to the service panel.
• Connect house wiring to the fan before attaching the light  xture to
the fan.
• All wiring must be in accordance with national and local electrical
codes. If you are unfamiliar with wiring, you should use a quali ed
electrician. Professional installation is recommended.
• To reduce the risk of  re or personal injury, allow bulbs and
surrounding surfaces to cool to room temperature before touching
or removing them.

Installing the Casbah Light Kit on the Casbah Fan
1. Uninstall the two screws from the lower switch housing.
2. Remove the screw from the center hole of the lower switch housing.
3. read the lower switch housing onto the wires from the light kit and
screw the lower switch housing onto the top of the light kit. Align the clearance
holes in the light kit plate with the screw holes in the lower switch housing. Install
the nut and washer onto the threaded rod from the light kit to secure the lower
switch housing.
4. Connect the black wire from the light kit to the black/white striped wire from the
switch housing and connect the white wire from the light kit to the white wire from
the switch housing with approved connectors.
5. Align the locator posts in the lower switch housing with the clearance holes in the
upper switch housing.
6. Align the threaded screw holes in the lower switch housing with the threaded holes
in the upper switch housing and install two screws.
7. Install two A-15 60 Watt max light bulbs into the sockets.
8. read the pull chains from the switch housing through the holes in the glass.
9. Align the hole in the center of the glass with the threaded pipe from the light kit.
Securely install the nial onto the threaded pipe to secure the glass.

Installing the Casbah Light Kit on Other Hunter Fans
1. Unscrew the three screws from the upper switch housing. Disconnect
the 9-pin plug connectors. Remove the lower switch housing.
2. Push the plug button from inside the lower switch housing to remove
the plug button and switch housing cap. Note: Save the plug button and switch
housing cap should you choose to remove the light xture in the future.
3. read the lower switch housing onto the wires from the light kit and screw the
lower switch housing onto the top of the light kit. Install the nut and washer onto
the threaded rod from the light kit to secure the lower switch housing.
4. Connect the black wire from the light kit to the black/white striped wire from the
light kit and connect the two white wires from the light kit to each other with
approved connectors.
5. Reconnect the 9-pin plug connectors.
6. Install screws to reattach the lower switch housing to the upper switch housing.
7. Install two A-15 60 Watt max light bulbs into the sockets.
8. read the pull chains from the switch housing through the holes in the glass.
9. Align the hole in the center of the glass with the threaded pipe from the light kit.
Securely install the nial onto the threaded pipe to secure the glass.

Installing the Casbah Light Kit on an OriginalTM Hunter Fan
1. Uninstall the switch housing cover by removing the two screws. Do not
discard the switch housing cover or screws, as you may wish to remove
the light kit later.
2. Connect the black wire from the light kit to the black/white striped wire from the
switch housing and connect the white wire from the light kit to the white wire from
the switch housing with approved connectors.
3. Align pull chain with the pull chain hole in the light kit. Screw the light kit into the
two tabs in the switch housing using the screws included with the light kit.
4. Install two A-15 60 Watt max light bulbs into the sockets.
5. read the pull chains from the switch housing through the holes in the glass.
6. Align the hole in the center of the glass with the threaded pipe from the light kit.
Securely install the nial onto the threaded pipe to secure the glass.

Troubleshooting
Light does not come on.
1. Make sure bulbs are installed properly and lament is not blown.
2. Make sure breakers or fuses are on.
3. Verify that the light power lead is connected at the ceiling. Refer to your
ceiling fan manual for locating assembly and wiring.
Glass rattles.
1. Make sure the glass globe is secure.
