ComMaster CM3185
Parts Name & Function
1. ON/OFF – Volume – Rotate clockwise for switching the radio ON
and increase the volume. Rotate counter clockwise for decreasing
the volume and switching the radio OFF.
2. LED status indicator – [Green]: the radio is receiving, or squelch
is open. [Red]: the radio is transmitting. [Red blinking]: low battery
warning.
3. Speaker – Internal, built-in speaker.
4. Accessory connector – Connectors for connecting external
speaker/microphone or headset.
[MIC]: microphone 2,5mm. [SP]: speaker 3,5mm.
5. Microphone – Internal, built-in microphone.
6. Display – Backlighted display, showing operating channel and
functions. The backlight is automatically activated for 10 seconds
whenever a key is pressed, except PTT (12) and Squelch (13).
7. ▲/▼(Up/Down) – Press for selecting operating channel or function inside Menu mode.
8. (Enter) – Confirming key inside Menu mode, press for saving the setting.
9. M (Menu) – Key for accessing Menu mode and selecting different radio functions.
1. Press Mfor accessing the Menu mode, then press ▲/▼for selecting function.
2. Press Mfor displaying current function setting, then press ▲/▼for selecting new function setting.
3. Pres for saving the new function setting and returning to start position.
10. Keypad lock – Press and hold 3 seconds for enabling or disabling the keypad lock. When enabled
all keys except PTT (12) and Squelch (13) are locked.
11. Display backlight – Press for activating display backlight 10 seconds or instantly deactivating.
12. PTT (Push-To-Talk) – Press and hold for transmitting, speak into the microphone (5) with normal
voice. Release for receiving.
13. Squelch (Monitor) – Press and hold for opening the squelch momentarily, release for closing.
14. Antenna – Removable flexible rubber antenna.

Display symbol description
1. – Appears when keypad lock is enabled.
2. – Not used on this radio model.
3. – Battery Power Save function, this function is always enabled on the radio.
4. – Battery level indicator, displays the battery level.
5. – Channel number or function number inside Menu mode.
6. – Appears when channel is selected at the scanning list.
7. – Indicates transmitter RF output power when transmitting.
8. – Displays operating channel name or function.
9. – Appears when high output power (5W) is selected on the channel.
10. – Appears when low output power (1W) is selected on the channel.
11. – Indicates received signal strength when receiving.

Start scanning:
1. Press Mfor accessing the Menu mode – [SCAN] is displayed.
2. Press for starting scanning function.
Stop scanning:
Press M, or PTT.
Adding/Deleting a channel from the Scanning list:
1. Select channel with ▲or ▼.
2. Press Mfor accessing the Menu mode – [SCAN] is displayed.
3. Press ▲once, current list setting – [SCN.ADD] or [SCN.DEL] is displayed.
4. Press Mfor accessing the list setting – ADD or DEL is blinking.
5. Press ▲or ▼and select ADD for adding or DEL for removing the channel from the list
6. Press for saving the selected list setting and returning to start position.
Change Output Power on selected channel:
1. Select channel with ▲or ▼.
2. Press Mfor accessing the Menu mode – [SCAN] is displayed.
3. Press ▲two times, current power setting – [POW H] or [POW L] is displayed.
4. Press Mfor accessing the power setting – H or L is blinking.
5. Press ▲or ▼and select H for high or L for low output power.
6. Press for saving the selected power and returning to start position.
Change radio Squelch level:
1. Press Mfor accessing the Menu mode – [SCAN] is displayed.
2. Press ▲three times, current squelch level setting – [SQL 1 ~ SQL 9] is displayed.
3. Press Mfor accessing the squelch level setting – 1 ~ 9 is blinking.
4. Press ▲or ▼and select new squelch level from 1 to 9.
5. Press for saving the selected squelch level and returning to start position.
Note!
If selecting 0, squelch will be constantly open and the Squelch key operation (13) will be disabled.
