Make all mains power link connections between the L6A active cabinets (#1 and #3), linking
all L6A active cabinets with the Powercon link cables supplied. Remember to allow for the
main power input to be connected to the bottom L6A cabinet.
Make the audio input connection between the mixer or other source’s output and the input
(#8) of the bottom L6A cabinet. It is recommended that the audio source used has balanced
line outputs in order to minimise noise levels and to keep the system within acceptable
limits without clipping any of the input stages. A balanced line XLR Male–XLR Female input
cable for connecting the mixer or other source to the L6A is not supplied.
Ensure all L6A cabinets are switched OFF (#2) and the level potentiometers (#6) are at the
minimum position (rotated fully anti-clockwise).

Make the mains power connection from the venue’s mains 220Vac/50Hz source to the
bottom L6A active cabinet (#1). For South African standard applications, this cable is a
Powercon to a standard South African 3-pin plug. This power cable is not supplied with the
L6A active cabinet.
First, ensure the mixer or other audio source’s main output levels are at the minimum
position. Then switch on (#2) all L6A cabinets, and turn the level controls on the back panels
to the maximum position (rotated fully clockwise).
Choose the desired preset for the genre of music/application by pressing the preset selection
switch (#7) located on the rear panel of the L6A.

Apply a signal to the array line through the mixer or other audio source and gradually
increase the volume until a low level has been reached. Check that all speakers in the line
are working correctly.
Lift the complete array of speakers to the desired height and install the safety chain between
the hanging structure and the L6F fly frame.
MAINTENANCE
Your Hybrid L6A Active Line Array Speaker requires no routine maintenance other than the
occasional cleaning of the heat sink located on the rear panel of the Speaker. It is important
to keep the heat sink free of dirt and dust so as to avoid overheating the inbuilt amplifier.
Cleaning of the heat sink is recommended every 3–6 months depending on the environment
the Speaker is working in.
Users will not need to make any internal adjustments to the Hybrid L6A Line Array Speaker
throughout its lifetime. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Removal of the back
panel/amplifier module poses the risk of electrical shock; thus, should any servicing be
needed, it should be carried out by an authorised and qualified service centre.
In the unlikely event that your Hybrid L6A Active Line Array Speaker develops a technical fault,
it should be returned to an authorised distributor or service centre. Due to the complexity of
the design and the risk of electrical shock, all repairs must be carried out by authorised and
qualified personnel. If the L6A Speaker needs to be couriered to the distributor or service
centre, ensure that it is correctly packed in its original packaging so as to avoid further
damage.
