Important safety instructions

WARNING -To guard against injury, basic safety precautions should be observed, including the following: read and follow all safety instructions

DANGER -To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken in the use of aquarium equipment. For each of the following situations, do not

attempt repairs yourself; return the appliance to an authorized service facility for service or discard the appliance.

1. A) If the appliance shows any sign of abnormal water leakage, immediately unplug from the power source

B) Carefully examine the appliance after installation. It should not be plugged in if there is water on parts not intended to be wet.

C) Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it is malfunctioning or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner. Inspect power

cord insulation to be sure there are no cuts or exposed wire. If so, discard and order a new replacement.

D) To avoid the possibility of the appliance plug or receptacle getting wet, position aquarium stand and tank to one side of a wall mounted receptacle

to prevent water from dripping onto the receptacle or plug. A“drip loop”, shown in the Figure at right, should be arranged by the user for each cord

connecting an aquarium appliance to a receptacle. The“drip loop”is that part of the cord below the level of the receptacle or the connector if an

extension cord is used, to prevent water traveling along the cord and coming in contact with the receptacle. If the plug or receptacle does get wet,

DON’T unplug the cord. Disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the appliance.Then unplug and examine for presence of water in

the receptacle.

2. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

3. To avoid injury, do not contact moving parts or hot parts such as heaters, reectors, lamp bulbs, etc.

4. Always unplug an appliance from an outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking o parts, and before cleaning. Never yank cord to pull plug

from outlet. Grasp the plug and pull to disconnect.

5. Do not use an appliance for other than intended use. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause an

unsafe condition.

6. Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed to the weather or to temperatures below freezing.

7. Make sure an appliance mounted on a tank is securely installed before operating it.

9. If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with a proper rating should be

used. A cord rated for less amperes or watts than the appliance rating may

We thank you for choosing this quality product and we ask that you read carefully the following instructions to understand and appreciate the fantastic and unique

characteristics of the Smartwave Controller.

Introduction

Smartwave is the new controller for movement and circulation pumps designed by Hydor. In nature, river and sea currents are a vital part of the natural life cycle of aquatic

creatures as they promote oxygenation, transport nutrients and food and remove residues that would otherwise pollute.

Smartwave helps recreate these currents which allow a healthy aquarium and uniform water temperature by selecting one of the 2 available programs:

• Alternate: pump 1 ON – pump 2 OFF, pump 1 OFF - pump 2 ON.

• Synchronous: pump 1 and 2 go ON and OFF together.

Details:

• 2 outlets, both for up to 100W;

• 2 selection knobs, 1 for pump program (alternate-synchronous), 1 for time interval setting (second, minutes, hours);

• Feeding program.

Compact, Smartwave is easy to conceal by hanging it inside the aquarium cabinet.

Designed for Koralia’s, Smartwave works with most movement pumps available on the market compatible with quick ON-OFF (5 seconds= 6.3 million on/o per year)

Attention: before operating this system please verify that all components are

undamaged especially the cord.

• Before any kind of intervention, ALWAYS disconnect electrical supply of any appliance

placed in the water.

• Be sure that the voltage of the mains supply corresponds to the voltage shown on

the unit’s label.

• The cord of this product cannot be replaced or repaired;

• In case of damage the entire unit must be substituted.

• Do not cut or pull on the electrical cord.

• Always disconnect from mains gently and make sure hands are dry

• To prevent any accidental electric shock keep all connections dry

• Make sure the plug is clean and free of any humidity, moisture and/or calcium/salt deposits

• Please keep these instructions in a safe and dry place.

Installation

Choose carefully where to position your new Smartwave, make sure it is an accessible and safe place, no risk of falling in water (aquarium or sump), out of reach of children

and possibly not too humid. Use a screw or very strong Velcro (both not included) to attach the controller to the cabinet or where desired.

Attention: remember that each channel/connector can tolerate up to 100W Max. Position your pump/s (not included) in your aquarium depending on your personal needs

and then follow the simple instructions to program your controller.

Programming with 1 pump connected

• Connect your pump to one of the Smartwave channels (if connected to the right-hand channel, when the system is

turned on, the pump will start in ON, if connected on the left-hand side the pump will start in OFF)

• Select“I”with program knob (B) g 1

• Select time exchange between ON-OFF with right-hand knob (C) g 2

• Turn Smartwave on with the ON-OFF switch (A) g 3

• The blue LED will conrm the correct start up of the system and will light up when the pump is working (pushing

water).

• From the moment Smartwave is turned on the pump will run on and o following the time set.

Programming with 2 pumps connected

Each channel/connector can tolerate up to 100W Max. ATTENTION: pumps will follow programs set, they can not be programmed separately.

Do NOT exceed 100W per channel.

• Connect your pump to one of the Smartwave channels

• With program knob (B) g 1 select“I”if you wish the pump to function in alternate mode or“II”if you wish the pump to function in synchronous mode.

• Select time exchange between ON-OFF with right-hand knob (C) g 2

• Turn Smartwave on with the ON-OFF switch (A) g 3

• The blue LEDs will conrm the correct start up of the system and will light up when the pumps are working (pushing water).

• From the moment Smartwave is turned on the pump will run on and o following the time set.

Manual Feeding Program

If you wish to stop manually the pump/s at any time to feed the aquarium, you can do so by selecting the sh icon with the program knob (B). To restart the

pump/s simply reposition the knob on the previously selected program (I or II).

The pump/s can be stopped for as long as necessary, without interfering on the pump exchange settings or on the automatic feeding program (if previously

set).

Automatic Feeding Program

When feeding sh and especially invertebrates, it is advisable to stop the pumps. With Smartwave you have the possibility of setting the Feeding program

which will stop the pump/s once or twice a day depending on how many times food distributions are planned. The Feeding program must be set before

Smartwave is turned on.

• With Smartwave turned OFF, Select the sh icon with program knob (B) g 1

• Select the number of feedings by positioning the right-hand knob on the 1 sh icon or the 2 sh icon (1 or 2 feedings);

• Turn Smartwave on with the ON-OFF switch (A) g 3

• The blue LEDs (1ash=1 feeding; 2 ash= 2 feeding) will conrm the program has been selected correctly and the pump/s will stop for 5 minutes. It is

advisable that during these 5 minutes you program also the automatic feeder, so both systems will be perfectly coordinated.

• Proceed with programming the pump/s as explained in the in the Programming paragraphs.

Attention:

 The first feeding will occur always at the time when the feeding program was activated.

 1 feeding a day = the pump/s will stop once a day, every 24hrs, exactly when the program was activated. Ex.

If the feeding program was activated at 8.00am, from that moment on the pump/s will stop every 24hrs at 8.00am.

 2 feedings a day = the pump/s will stop twice a day, at an 8hrs distance. Ex. If the feeding program was activated at 8.00am the pump/s will

stop for the first time, they will then top for the second time at 4.00 pm.The following day the pump/s will stop at the same times

(8am and 4pm).

 To cancel the feeding program, turn OFF Smartwave completely, wait a few minutes until the LEDs have turned off,

then Proceed with programming the pump/s as explained in the in the Programming paragraphs.

Bewegungsarten eine einheitliche Wassertemperatur erreicht wird:

• Alternierend: Pumpe 1 an – Pumpe 2 aus, Pumpe 1 aus - Pumpe 2 an.

• Synchron: Pumpe 1 und 2 schalten sich gemeinsam aus und an.

Smartwave ist einfach und intuitiv zu benutzen. Ausstattung:

• 2 Ausgänge, jeder für eine maximale Leistung von 100W;

• 2 Drehknöpfe, einer zur Auswahl des Programms für alternierende oder synchrone Pumpen und einer zur Einstellung der Umschlagzeit von 5 Sekunden bis 6 Stunden;

• Programm“Futterfunktion”

Aufgrund seiner geringen Größe und auch dank der Möglichkeit, es in den Aquariumschrank zu hängen, lässt Smartwave sich leicht verbergen.

Es ist für die Koralia-Pumpen konzipiert worden, ist jedoch kompatibel mit dem Großteil der auf dem Markt erhältlichen Bewegungspumpen mit kurzer On/O-Funktion (5

Sek. = 6,3 Mio. an/aus pro Jahr).

Installation

Wählen Sie mit Sorgfalt die Stelle, an der Sie Ihr Smartwave anbringen möchten. Sie muss leicht zugänglich sein, möglichst eine geringe Feuchtigkeit aufweisen, außerhalb

der Reichweite von Kindern liegen, und es sollte nicht die Gefahr bestehen, dass das Gerät insWasser fällt (Aquarium oder Filterbecken).

Verwenden Sie die Schrauben oder das Klettband, um es zu befestigen (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten).

Achtung: Beachten Sie, dass jeder Smartwave-Kanal für eine maximale Leistung von 100W ausgelegt ist.

Positionieren Sie die Pumpe/Pumpen (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten) in Ihrem Aquarium nach Ihren Bedürfnissen und folgen Sie dann den folgenden einfachen

Anweisungen.

Inbetriebnahme mit einer angeschlossenen Pumpe.

• Schließen Sie die Pumpe an einen Smartwave-Kanal an (rechter Kanal - bei Einschalten des Systems steht die Pumpe

auf ON, linker Kanal - die Pumpe steht auf OFF).

• Wählen Sie mit dem Programmdrehknopf (B) Abb. 1 das Programm“I”.

• Wählen Sie mit dem rechten Drehknopf (C) Abb. 2 die Umschlagzeit.

• Schalten Sie Smartwave mit dem Schalter ON-OFF O-I (A) Abb. 3 ein.

• Das Aueuchten der rechten blauen LED zeigt den korrekten Start an; sie leuchtet auf, wenn die Pumpe läuft.

• Nach dem Einschalten des Smartwave schaltet sich die Pumpe entsprechend der eingestellten Umschaltzeit ein und aus.

Inbetriebnahme mit 2 oder mehr angeschlossenen Pumpen

Jeder Kanal ist bis auf 100W ausgelegt. ACHTUNG. Die Pumpen folgen den Einstellungen der beiden Hauptkanäle, sie sind nicht einzeln programmierbar.

Überschreiten Sie NICHT 100W pro Kanal.

• Schließen Sie die Pumpen an die Smartwave-Kanäle an.

• Mit dem linken Drehknopf (B) wählen Sie das Programm“I”, wenn die Kanäle sich abwechseln sollen oder“II”wenn sie synchronisiert sein sollen.

• Wählen Sie die Umschlagzeit mit dem rechten Drehknopf (C) Abb. 2.

• Schalten Sie Smartwave mit dem Schalter ON-OFF (A) Abb. 3 ein.

• Das Aueuchten der blauen LEDs zeigt den korrekten Start an; sie leuchten auf, wenn die Pumpen in Betrieb sind.

• Nach dem Einschalten des Smartwave schalten sich die Pumpen entsprechend der eingestellten Umschaltzeit ein und aus.

Funktion manuelle Fütterung

Möchteman diePumpe/Pumpenmanuell ausstellen,um das Futterins Aquarium zu geben, drehtman einfachden linkenDrehknopf(B) auf das Fisch-Zeichen.

Um die Pumpe/Pumpen wieder anzustellen, dreht man den Drehknopf in die Ausgangsposition zurück (I oder II).

Man kann die Pumpe/Pumpen, je nach Bedarf, ausgeschaltet lassen, ohne so auf die programmierten Umschaltzeiten oder auf das Programm der

automatischen Fütterung Einuss zu nehmen (falls zuvor eingestellt).

Funktion automatische Fütterung

Wenn Sie die Fische und vor allem die wirbellosen Tiere im Aquarium füttern, kann es hilfreich sein, wenn die Pumpen dabei ausgeschaltet sind. Mit

Smartwave besteht die Möglichkeit, die Fütterfunktion einzustellen, welche es ermöglicht, die Pumpe/Pumpen (für 5 Minuten) ein- oder zweimal proTag, je

nach programmierter Fütterung, auszustellen. Die Fütterfunktion muss vor der Inbetriebnahme vom Smartwave eingestellt werden.

• Bei ausgeschaltetem Smartwave stellen Sie den linken Drehknopf (B) auf das Fisch-Zeichen.

• Wählen Sie die Anzahl der Fütterungen, indem Sie den rechten Drehknopf auf das Zeichen mit 1 oder 2 Fischen (1 oder 2 Fütterungen) stellen.

• Schalten Sie Smartwave mit dem Schalter ON-OFF (A) Abb. 3 ein.

• Das Licht der blauen LEDs (1 Aueuchten = 1 Fütterung, 2 Aueuchten = 2 Fütterungen) zeigt die korrekte Programmierung an und die Pumpe/Pumpen stehen

5 Minuten (erste Fütterung) still. Es empehlt sich, in diesen 5 Minuten auch die automatische Fütterung zu programmieren, so dass die beiden Systeme optimal

aufeinander abgestimmt sind.

• Man fährt dann mit der Programmierung der Umschaltzeiten der Pumpe/Pumpen wie oben beschrieben fort, wobei das Smartwave jedoch eingeschaltet bleibt.

Achtung:

Die erste Fütterung erfolgt immer zu der Zeit, zu der die Fütterfunktion einsetzt

1 Fütterung proTag = die Pumpen stehen alle 24 Std. einmal still, und zwar genau zu der Zeit, die programmiert wurde. Beispiel:

Wenn die Fütterfunktion auf 8.00 Uhr eingestellt ist, steht/stehen die Pumpe/Pumpen alle 24 Std. zu dieser Zeit still.

2 Fütterungen proTag = die Pumpen stehen zweimal amTag im Abstand von 8 Std. still. Beispiel: Wenn die Fütterfunktion auf 8.00 Uhr eingestellt

ist, steht/stehen die Pumpe/Pumpen um diese Zeit das erste Mal still und das zweite mal um 16.00 Uhr. Am nächsten Tag wird/werden die Pumpe/

Pumpen zu den gleichen Zeiten stillstehen.

Um die Futterfunktion aufzuheben, stellt man den Smartwave aus, wartet ein paar Minuten und achtet darauf, dass die LEDs komplett erloschen sind;

dann stellt man ihn wieder an und programmiert ihn wie in den Absätzen zur Inbetriebnahme beschrieben.

Aperçu général du produit

Smartwave est le nouveau minuteur créé par Hydor pour les pompes de circulation et de brassage. Dans la nature, les courants des euves et des océans jouent un rôle

fondamental dans le cycle de vie des êtres vivants car ils favorisent l’oxygénation, ils transportent les nutriments et les aliments et ils éliminent les résidus qui, sans eux,

seraient une source de pollution.

Smartwave aide précisément à reconstituer ce type de courants, en favorisant un aquarium sain et en homogénéisant la température de l’eau grâce à la possibilité de choisir

parmi 2 types de brassage de l’eau diérents:

• Brassage alterné : pompe n° 1 active – pompe n° 2 inactive, pompe n° 1 inactive – pompe n° 2 active ;

• Brassage synchrone : les pompes n° 1 et 2 s’activent et se désactivent en même temps.

L’utilisation de Smartwave est facile et intuitive. Il est muni:

• de 2 sorties, chacune d’elles d’une puissance maximale de 100 W ;

• de 2 boutons de réglage, l’un pour la sélection du programme de pompes synchronisées ou alternées et l’autre pour la programmation des intervalles de basculage pouvant

varier de 5 secondes à 6 heures ;

• d’une fonction « mangeoire ».

Les dimensions réduites de Smartwave permettent de le dissimuler facilement et même de le suspendre à l’intérieur de l’armoire de commande de l’aquarium.

Conçu pour les pompes Koralia, il est néanmoins compatible avec la plupart des pompes de brassage disponibles sur le marché et supportant des cycles marche/arrêt

rapprochés (5 s = 6,3 millions de cycles marche/arrêt par an).

Normes de sécurité

Attention: Avant de mettre le produit en service, assurez-vous qu’il soit bien complet

et surtout que ni le câble ni la pompe n’aient été endommagés.

• Débranchez du secteur tous les appareils électriques submergés avant de plonger les

mains dans l’eau et avant toute intervention de maintenance.

• Vériez que la tension mentionnée sur le produit corresponde bien à votre tension de

réseau.

• Il n’est pas possible de changer ni de réparer le câble d’alimentation de ce produit.

• En cas de détérioration, il faut remplacer l’unité complète.

• Le câble d’alimentation ne doit pas être sectionné ni tiré pour couper l’alimentation.

• Débranchez avec précaution la che de la prise de courant.

• Assurez-vous de vous être essuyé les mains avant de débrancher l’appareil du circuit électrique.

• Pour réduire les risques d’électrocution accidentelle, veillez à ce que toutes les connexions soient essuyées.

• Vériez que la prise de courant soit propre et exempte d’humidité ou de dépôts de sel.

• Conservez le présent manuel d’instructions au sec et à l’abri.

Installation

Choisissez soigneusement l’endroit où vous allez installer votre Smartwave. Il doit être dans un lieu facilement accessible, il ne doit pas risquer de tomber dans l’eau

(de l’aquarium ou du bac inférieur), il doit être hors de portée des enfants et si possible dans un lieu peu humide.

Pour le xer, utilisez les vis ou la bande velcro (non incluses).

Attention: Ayez présent à l’esprit que chaque liaison Smartwave peut supporter une puissance maximale de 100W.

Mettez la ou les pompes (non incluses) dans votre aquarium en fonction de vos besoins, puis suivez tout simplement les instructions suivantes.

Mise en service avec une pompe raccordée

• Raccordezlapompeà l’unedesliaisonsdeSmartwave (sivouschoisissezcellede droite,la pompesemettraen marche

dèslamisesoustensiondusystème;sivouschoisissezcelledegauche,lapomperesteradansunpremiertempsarrêtée).

• Sélectionnez le programme « I » à l’aide du bouton de programmation (B) g 1

• Sélectionnez la durée de l’intervalle de basculage à l’aide du bouton de droite (C) g 2

• Mettez Smartwave en marche à l’aide du bouton marche/arrêt 0-I (A) g 3

• L’allumage de la LED bleue de droite conrme alors la mise en marche. Elle s’allume lorsque la pompe fonctionne.

• Dès la mise en marche de Smartwave, la pompe se met en marche et s’arrête en fonction de l’intervalle de basculage

programmé.

Mise en service avec 2 ou plusieurs pompes raccordées

Chacune des liaisons peut supporter jusqu’à 100 W. ATTENTION : Les pompes suivront les programmations des 2 liaisons principales. Elles ne sont pas

programmées individuellement. NE PAS dépasser 100 W par liaison.

• Branchez les pompes sur les liaisons Smartwave.

• À l’aide du bouton de gauche (B), sélectionnez le programme « I » si vous désirez que les liaisons soient commandées en alternance, ou bien « II » si vous

désirez qu’elles soient synchrones.

• Sélectionnez la durée de l’intervalle de basculage à l’aide du bouton de droite (C) Fig 2

• Mettez Smartwave en marche à l’aide du bouton marche/arrêt 0-I (A) g 3

• L’allumage des LED bleues conrme alors la mise en marche. Elles s’allument lorsque les pompes fonctionnent.

• Dès la mise en marche de Smartwave, les pompes se mettent en marche et s’arrêtent en fonction de l’intervalle de basculage programmé.

Fonction mangeoire manuelle

Si l’on souhaite arrêter manuellement la ou les pompes an de pouvoir distribuer la nourriture dans l’aquarium, il sut de tourner le bouton de gauche (B)

pour l’amener sur l’icône en forme de poisson. Lorsqu’on souhaite remettre en route la ou les pompes, il sut de remettre le bouton sur la position précédente

(position I ou II).

Il est possible de maintenir la ou les pompes arrêtées en fonction des besoins, sans interférer pour autant avec les intervalles de basculage programmés ni avec

le programme de mangeoire automatique (si ce dernier a été programmé auparavant).

Fonction mangeoire automatique

Pendant la distribution de nourriture dans un aquarium à poissons, et surtout lorsqu’il s’agit d’invertébrés, il peut être utile d’éteindre les pompes. Smartwave

ore la possibilité de programmer la fonction mangeoire, qui permet d’éteindre la ou les pompes (pendant 5 minutes) une ou deux fois par jour en fonction de

la distribution de nourriture programmée. La fonction mangeoire doit être programmée avant la mise en service de Smartwave.

• Smartwave étant éteint, tournez le bouton de gauche (B) sur l’icône en forme de poisson ;

• Sélectionnez le nombre de repas en positionnant le bouton de droite sur l’icône représentant 1 ou 2 poissons (1 ou 2 repas) ;

• Mettez Smartwave en marche à l’aide du bouton marche/arrêt 0-I (A) g 3

• L’allumage des LED bleues (1 LED = 1 repas, 2 LED = 2 repas) conrme que la programmation est correcte, la ou les pompes restant arrêtées pendant 5 minutes

(premier repas). Il est recommandé durant ces 5 minutes de programmer également la mangeoire automatique an que les deux systèmes soient parfaitement

coordonnés.

• Poursuivez ensuite par la programmation des intervalles de basculage de la ou des pompes comme décrit plus haut, tout en maintenant Smartwave éteint.

Attention:

Le premier repas a toujours lieu au moment où l’on active la fonction mangeoire.

1 repas par jour = les pompes s’arrêtent une fois par 24 heures exactement à l’heure où la fonction a été programmée.

Par exemple, à partir du moment où la fonction mangeoire a été programmée à 8h00, la ou les pompes s’arrêteront toutes les 24 heures à la même heure.

2 repas par jour = les pompes s’arrêtent 2 fois par jour, avec un intervalle de 8 heures. Par exemple, si la fonction mangeoire a été programmée à 8h00,

heure à laquelle la ou les pompes s’arrêteront pour la première fois, elles s’arrêteront une deuxième fois à 16h00. Le lendemain, la ou les pompes s’arrêteront aux

mêmes heures.

Pour annuler la fonction mangeoire, éteignez Smartwave, attendez quelques minutes en vérifiant que les LED sont bien complètement éteintes puis

remettez Smartwave en route et programmez-le selon la description figurant dans les paragraphes de mise en service.

Smartwave es el nuevo temporizador para bombas de circulación y movimientocreadoporHydor. En lanaturaleza,las corrientesde ríos y maresson una parte fundamental

del ciclo vital de los seres vivos, ya que promueven la oxigenación, transportan nutrientes y alimentos, eleminan los residuos que de otro modo serían contaminantes.

Smartwave ayuda a recrear este tipo de corrientes, promoviendo un acuario sano y haciendo homogénea la temperatura del agua gracias a la posibilidad de elección entre

2 tipos diferentes de movimiento:

• Alternado: bomba 1 encendida – bomba 2 apagada, bomba 1 apagada - bomba 2 encendida.

• Sincrónico: las bombas 1 y 2 se encienden y apagan juntas.

Smartwave es intuitivo y fácil de utilizar. Equipado con:

• 2 salidas, cada una con una potencia máxima de 100W;

• 2 manoplas de regulación, una para la selección del programa de bombas sincronizadas o alternadas, una para la programación de los tiempos de intercambio de 5 segundos a 6 horas;

• programa de“función comedero”.

Con un tamaño reducido, Smartwave es fácil de esconder incluso gracias a la posibilidad de colgarlo dentro del armario del acuario.
