Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the Hydro-Force Olympus M100. The M100
is designed to give truckmount-level performance in a porta le machine that
com ines versatility with ease of transport. Years of experience, engineering, and
planning have gone into the design and manufacturing of the M100. We take a
great deal of pride in the M100; our goal is no less than your complete satisfaction.
This manual will provide users with the knowledge required to operate the
Olympus M100 safely, to understand how to properly operate and maintain the
machine, and to ensure that the equipment operates at its maximum performance
level.
All users must read and understand this manual c mpletely bef re
perating the machine.
Always maintain this manual in legi le condition adjacent to the Olympus M100,
or place in a secure location for future reference.
Any questions pertaining to the operating or servicing of this unit should e

Safety
CAUTION! This machine is an electrical appliance. Care must be
taken t reduce the risk f electrical sh ck.
•READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE OPERATING THE M100.
•To reduce the risk of property damage or injury, repairs to electrical systems should only e performed y
experienced technicians. Contact your distri utor for assistance. Unplug machine power cord from outlet
efore performing any repairs on the extractor.
•This machine shall e grounded while in use to protect the operator from electric shock. The machine is
provided with a three-conductor cord and a three-contact grounding type attachment plug to fit the
proper grounding type receptacle. The green (or green and yellow) conductor in the cord is the grounding
wire. Never connect this wire to other than the grounding pin of the attachment plug.
•This machine is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit and
has a grounding plug that resem les the plug illustrated in
the sketch to the right. Make sure that the machine is
connected to an outlet having the same configuration as
the plug. No plug adapter should e used with this
machine.
•The power cord supplied with this machine is properly
sized to handle the electrical load of this machine and
properly grounded as descri ed a ove. Any extension
cords used with this machine must e similarly sized and
grounded to assure safe operation. A properly sized
GFCI protected cord can e used for additional protection.
•Do not use the M100 outdoors, in standing water or on wet surfaces. Do not store the M100 in wet conditions.
If extractor is leaking, unplug machine power cords from outlets efore approaching or touching machine.
•Do not unplug power cord y pulling on the cord. Grasp the plug end when unplugging the cord. Do not pull
the extractor y the cord. If cord or plug is damaged, do not use cord. Replace with new cord or repair as
needed efore use.
•Overloaded circuit may not always trip circuit reaker. Reduced voltage to machine on overloaded circuit will
prevent components from operating properly.

WARNING! This machine must be pr tected fr m c nditi ns which may
damage the pump, tank, h ses and ther c mp nents.
•Freezing f water in this machine will cause seri us damage. The M100, solution hoses, and tools must
e protected from freezing temperature. Store, transport, and use this equipment only in temperatures well
a ove freezing. (32ºF or 0ºC). If you suspect the M100 has een frozen, do not plug in or turn on machine
until you are sure it has thawed completely.
•If the equipment cannot e stored or transported in a warm environment, it can e guarded from freezing y
running an anti-freeze solution through the incoming water lines, chemical feed system, solution pump, solution
lines, tools and pump-out pump. The machine is filled at the factory with anti-freeze to eliminate damage during
shipment in cold weather.
oThe anti-freeze solution must e completely flushed from the machine efore it is returned to service.
•The M100 must not e used to pick up flamma le or com usti le materials or used in areas where these
materials may e present.
•Solvent- ased or water- ased solutions containing solvents may damage the pump, hoses, and other
components. Do not assume chemical compati ility. Contact your distri utor or Hydro-Force if you have
questions regarding the compati ility of your chemicals with the machine.
•Do not clean with solutions that are at temperatures a ove 130ºF.
•Rinse the solution tank, chemical system, and pump with fresh water after each day’s use.
•Do not allow pump to run dry. Always maintain adequate solution level to supply solution pump.
•HP hoses may rupture if worn or damaged. Do not use HP solution hoses if hose covering is cut, ulging, or
otherwise damaged. Examine HP solution hoses daily and replace or repair hoses as needed.
•Use a Hydro-Filter II and clean the recovery tank daily to keep pump-out filter and pump from ecoming
clogged. Store the M100 with the recovery tank lid open.
•Keep Vacuum Inlet Filter clean and check float for proper operation. Do not operate the M100 without the
Vacuum Inlet Filter in place. Use def amer t eliminate f am build-up during cleaning and prevent
f am/m isture fr m entering vacuums.

•Keep pets and children away from the machine when in use.
•Keep all ody parts, hair, and loose clothing away from openings and moving parts. Always wear appropriate
clothing and safety equipment when operating unit.
•Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. Wet carpet on stairs can e slippery.
•Do not move the M100 up or down stairs when tanks are full of water. Drain solution and recovery tanks, and
secure ase latches efore moving unit up or down stairs. Lift using only the appropriate handles.
•Water may e spilled, drip, or e exhausted from vacuums during operation. Place unit in area where water will
not cause damage or use drop cloth to protect surfaces.

Operation Procedures

SET UP AND OPERATION
1. Electrical C rd:
One 25’ power cord is supplied with the Olympus M100. The amperage draw requires that the cord e
plugged into a 20amp circuit.
Plug the power cord into the outlet. and connect cord to the machine.

2A. Water Supply & Chemical Mixing– Manual Fill:
•Pour up to 12 gallons of hot water into the solution tank at the front of the machine. The water
temperature cann t exceed 130°

•Measure and add the appropriate amount of the desired liquid chemical to the water in the solution tank.
The amount of chemical will vary depending on the type of chemical used, the amount of water in the
tank, and the material eing cleaned; consult the chemical packaging for specific mixture ratios.
•Powdered chemicals should e dissolved in water efore adding to the water in the solution tank.
2B. Water Supply & Chemical Diluti n – Opti nal Aut -Fill System:
•The chemical dilution rate is controlled y the metering tip, and the dilution rate can only e changed y
changing the metering tip (See “How to Change the Metering Tip” on Page 10 for instructions.)
Chemical Feed Setup:
•Remove the chemical feed hose from the solution tank.
•Place the end of the hose into a container of liquid chemical.
•If the tip is removed, and the proportioning system operated with no tip, the dilution rate will e 8:1 (the
equivalent to adding 16-1/4oz of chemical to each gallon of water.)
•The standard tip used with the M100 is the turquoise tip with a dilution rate of 256:1. This means that for
each gallon of water flowing into the machine, 1/2 ounce of chemical will e added.
•If a fresh water rinse with n chemical is desired, simply leave the chemical feed h se inside the
s luti n tank.

•Remove the chemical feed hose from the ar on the side of the proportioning valve.
•Unscrew and remove the old tip.
•Screw in the proper tip for your chemical tip and place the hose ack on the ar
Metering Tip Kit (Hydr -F rce Item# PDE001) contains 14 different colored metering tips, allowing
dilution rates from 11:1 up to 427:1. Refer to the chart elow to select the tip that meets the dilution rate for
your chemical application.
•For example: if you require 1-1/2 ounces of chemical per gallon of water, change to the red metering tip
with the dilution rate of 85:1.
•The dilution rates are ased on chemicals with water-like viscosity. Thicker (more viscous) chemicals will
dilute at a different rate.
•For powdered chemicals, a liquid concentrate must e made. Mix the concentrate according to the
manufacturer’s directions, and then select the appropriate metering tip.
•Contact your distri utor or Hydro-Force if you have questions a out your chemical.

Water Supply:
•Once the correct metering tip is in place:
oConnect the Auto-Fill Water Supply Hose to the water inlet (the male quick-connect on the front
of the machine.)
oConnect the other end of the hose to a water faucet, and then turn on the water.
•Hot water can e used as long as the temperature does not exceed 140°F.
•Faucet adapter kits (Hydro-Force item #AX21 & AX22) are availa le that allow connection to different
types of faucets if needed.
T adjust the water level in the s luti n tank:
•Turn off the water supply.
•Adjust the length of the chain connecting the float ottle to the float valve.
•Snap the eaded chain off the connector on the valve.
oMove the ottle down to decrease the water level.
oMove the ottle up to increase the water level.
•Snap the chain ack into the connector.
•Turn the water supply ack on.
If the chemical is not drawing, or if the tank is not filling
or is overflowing, refer to the trou le shooting guide, or
contact your distri utor for assistance.

3. C nnecti n f S luti n H se:
Connect the high pressure solution hose to the solution outlet (female quick connect on the front of the
machine). Connect the other end of the hose to the male quick connect on the cleaning tool. When you are
ready to start cleaning, turn the solution pump switch to the ON position The Flojet solution pump, standard
on the M100 is self priming and usually additional priming procedures are not required.
If the pump does not prime y itself, or if flow is low or unsteady, check the hose from the solution tank to
the pump (as well as the inline filter) for clogging, kinks, or restrictions. Clean or replace hose and/or filter
and repeat the priming procedure. Check the jets and filters on the wand or other tool for flow restrictions
that can affect priming.
If you are having trou le with the pump, refer to the trou le shooting guide or contact your distri utor for
advice or assistance.
4. C nnecti n f Vacuum H ses:
A 1-1/2” x 25’ Vacuum Hose is included with the M100. The 2” cuff on the 25’ vacuum hose is connected
to the Vacuum Bar on the front of the machine. The other end with the 1-1/2” cuff is connected to the
cleaning tool.
When ready to egin cleaning, turn oth vacuum switches to the ON position. While the M100 can e
operated with only one vacuum for cleaning delicate fa rics, in most situations you will turn oth vacuum
switches ON.

5. Opti nal Aut Pump- ut System - C nnecti n f Pump- ut H se:
The pump-out hose is a 50’ section of 3/4” garden hose.
•Remove the cap from the pump-out outlet fitting on the ack of the machine.
•Connect the pump-out hose to the outlet fitting.
•Place the other end of the hose in a commode or drain connected to the sanitary sewer system.
•Secure hose end to prevent movement during pumping.

When ready to egin cleaning, turn the waste pump switch to the ON position.

5A. Waste Tank Shut ff:
If not equipped with an Auto Pump-out System or not using the waste pump-out, the pump-out hose does
not need to e connected. When the recovery tank fills during cleaning, the float all assem ly in the vacuum
inlet filter will rise and will automatically shut off the vacuum air flow to prevent the recovery tank from
overfilling and waste water from getting into the vacuums. When this occurs:
•Immediately shut off the vacuum switches.
•Drain the recovery tank.
oTurn off the pump switch while draining the tank.
oTurn pump switch ack upon resumption of cleaning.
•Close the drain valve and turn the vacuum switches ack on when ready to resume cleaning.
If the pump-out or vacuum shutoff is not working properly, refer to the trou le shooting guide or contact
your distri utor for advice or assistance.

6. Pressure Adjustment:
The pressure f the M100 is n t adjustable. The pump controls the pressure internally and has a pressure
switch that shuts the pump off when the tool is not eing sprayed and the pressure uilds up past 120psi. The
maximum pump pressure is 120psi, ut the actual pressure attained is dependent on the amount of water flow
at the tool. The wand jets included with the M100 carpet wand were selected to deliver the optimum alance
etween flow and pressure from the solution pump.
The only way to change the water flow and pressure delivered to the surface eing cleaned is to change the
jets. If you feel the need to change the jets:
•Smaller jets and lower flow will allow for higher pressure at the tool. (Up to 120psi.)
•Larger jets and higher flow will lower the pressure attained at the tool.
The num er found on the face of the jet, such as 8006, 9505 or 11004, states the size and shape of the jet
orifice. The first two or in some cases three num ers (80, 95 & 110) represent the spray angle. The last two or
in some cases three num ers (06, 05 & 04) represent the orifice size. The orifice size num er represents the
flow through that jet at 40psi in tenths of a gallon per minute. Thus a small orifice such as 04 will flow
0.40gpm at 40psi. A larger orifice such as 06 will flow 0.60gpm at 40psi. (See chart elow.)
Different jets with the same spray angle (8001, 8003 & 8004) can have different orifice sizes.
Different jets with the same orifice size (80015, 95015 & 110015) can have different spray angles.
Using a jet that is too small may cause the pump to pulsate or cycle y causing the pressure switch to engage
while the tool is eing sprayed. If this occurs, replace the jet with a larger jet or contact your distri utor for
advice or assistance.
Choose the jets that will meet the flow rate at your desired pressure and have the spray pattern suited to your
tool and type of cleaning. (The maximum flow rate of the M100 AP120 pump is 1.30gpm.)
If maintaining pressure ecomes a pro lem, refer to the trou le shooting guide or contact your distri utor for
advice or assistance.
To determine the flow rate of tools with multiple jets, add the flow of each jet together to calculate the total
flow at the desired pressure.

Shutd wn Pr cedures:
•If using the auto-fill system, turn the water supply off efore finishing each jo . This will allow use of the
water and chemical already in the tank, and will reduce the amount of excess water to e disposed of later.
•When finished cleaning, turn off all switches.
•If the auto-fill system was used and there is still water in the solution tank, push the float down to release
the water inlet hose pressure efore disconnecting the hose from the faucet. Disconnect the water inlet
hose from the quick-connect on the front of the machine.
•Disconnect the solution hose and vacuum hose from the cleaning tool. Pull valve trigger to release
pressure from the hose efore disconnecting solution hose from cleaning tool.
•If used disconnect the Hydro-Filter from the vacuum hoses and clean
the filter as needed. Replacement filter ags are availa le (AC11A.)
•Disconnect the vacuum hose and solution hose from the machine.
•If water remains in the solution tank, use the vacuum
and vacuum the excess water from the tank.
•If the auto-fill system was utilized, place the chemical feed
hose ack into the solution tank.
•If the waste pump-out system was used:
oTurn the waste pump switch “ON” to pump out any remaining water from the recovery tank.
oTurn switch off, remove the pump-out hose from the outlet fitting and replace the cap.
oRoll up hose toward drain to remove remaining water from hose.
oConnect ends of hose together to prevent dirty water from dripping from hose during transport.
•Disconnect the power cord from the outlet and from the machine.
•Remove the float shutoff assem ly from
the recovery tank and clean filter as needed.
Replace shutoff assem ly and tank lid.
•Drain any remaining water from the recovery tank
and dispose in sanitary drain. Do not use the same
ucket to drain the tank that you use to fill the tank.
•Roll up all hoses and cord.
Collect and store extractor, all tools, and accessories.
