Installation Requirements
■ properly tighten all fittings to ensure a leak-free assembly.
■ the system should be located after the connection to the sprinkler system(s), and/or irrigation
line(s). These lines should be left untreated.
■ Install in a location that is not susceptible to freezing temperatures as damage to the equipment
could occur. Do not install where there is prolonged exposure from UV lights.
■ Install away from direct sunlight as prolonged exposure to ultra violet light can weaken plastic
components.
Unit should be installed in a well-ventilated area to avoid buildup of any airborne pollutants.

Assembly Instructions
1.) You have received a Vortech Tank that is built with the distributor tube installed. Leave the Distributer Tube Cap on
and put the Funnel in place (See Figure 1). Pour in the Media Package.
2.) Remove funnel, wipe the mouth of the Media Tank, and remove the Distributer Tube Cap. Coat the outside of the
Media Tank Distributer Tube with silicon from top edge and down 1”.
3.) IMPORTANT - Install Strainer Basket (Part #10) to the underside of the Main Control Head. Be certain to twist
on clockwise and tighten until securely locked in place.
4.) Coat the inlet, outlet, and tank O-rings on the Main Control Head with Silicone. You do not need to remove these O-
rings when applying the Silicone.
5.) Using a ¼” Nut Driver, loosen screws on retainer clips on Main Control Head. Attach the Bypass assy. to the Main
Control Head and tighten back into place (See Figure 2). Line up Main Control Head with the Distributer Tube and push
down on the control head until snuggly in place. Thread control head on to the tank until tight.
Important: Make certain that the air intake assembly at the right side of the Control Valve is vertical in the
upright position with the air screen at the top.

6.) Connect the drain line to the drain fitting using clamp provided and a 3/8” Nut Driver (See Figure 3). Run other end
of drain line into your drain.

Connection Instructions
1. Installation must comply with any existing state or local plumbing codes.
2. Turn off your water supply. Turn off power to well. Turn off your water heater.
3. Release water pressure by opening a nearby faucet.
4. Attach water source to the male adapter on the inlet side of the by-pass valve. If existing inlet pipe size is smaller
or greater than 1”, you will need an additional adapter.
5. Attach the outgoing water line to the male adapter on the outlet of the Bypass.
6. Connect to the filter housing provided. Recommend a shut off valve be installed for future filter changes. The
outlet side of the filter housing is connected to the water line in to the house.
7. Turn Bypass valve with the arrow pointing to “SERVICE”(Figure 4)
8. Turn on the power to the well then turn on hot water heater.
9. Plug in Main Control Head into wall outlet. Use the Surge Protector.
10. Set time of day on Main Control Head. Refer to PAGE 4 of Owner’s Manual for instructions.
11. Turn your water on to allow water to slowly fill the volume in the Media Tank.
12. After tank is full press the Extra Cycle button on the Main Control Head and hold for 5 seconds to enter “BACK-
WASH”. You will see water appear in the drain line
13. Continue to backwash the media until the water in the drain line runs clear. This can take (60) minutes or more.
Troubleshooting Guide
■ If water leaks at fittings: Tighten slightly more until leak stops.
■Note: This tank has an easy service port on the top that will allow you if needed, to add regeneration material
to the media that can help solve service issues if they arise.
Note: Fill out the enclosed Warranty Card and mail. Manufacturer Warranty is 5 years on parts. Your serial number is located
on the underside of the Main Control Head. Make appropriate entries on the Maintenance Card provided (ie. date installed and
dates medias are changed). Keep attached to the system and update when needed.
