USER MODE
page 1
Rev 081123
The normal state of the valve. The valve is in user mode when it detects that its cover is on, or if it has been in maintenance mode
for more than 30 minutes. Auto acvaons are only available in user mode.
ACTIVATION
Auto-Acvaon
The valve will automacally ush based on IR detecon. The IR sensor has 3 LEDs, a red, green, and blue to indicate detecon
and acvaon status.
When no object is detected no LED indicaon will display.
Aer 5-7 seconds of detecng an object, the valve will be considered “locked on” and a green LED will blink in 5-second intervals
up to 30 seconds.
When an object exits from lock-on the valve will Auto-Acvate.
Manual Acvaon
There are two manual acvaon buons on the plate. The le buon performs a reduced ush, while the right buon performs
a standard ush.
Sennel Acvaon
The valve can automacally acvate 24 hours aer the last acvaon, by default Sennel Acvaon is o. To toggle Sennel
Acvaon on and o hold down the Acvate buon in the interface box (not the Manual Acvaon buons) for 5 seconds. The
green LED in the IR sensor window will blink 3 mes to indicate it has been turned on, or the red LED will blink 3 mes to indicate
it has been turned o.
Acvaon Refusal
When an acvaon is aempted but the valve is unable to acvate, a red LED will ash. This can be caused by obstrucons
or being temporarily disabled. Valves are automacally temporarilyy disabled for 3 seconds aer acvaon.
TruFLUSH®
Pro devices use TruTOUCH®, an algorithm based on water pressure to opmize ush volumes.

4. Release the acvate buon aer the green LED blinks 4 mes. The factory reset is nished.
MAINTENANCE MODE
If the cover is removed the valve will go into Maintenance Mode which allows addional acons. Auto Acvaons are unavailable in

1. Auto-Range
2. Prole Selecon
Interface Box
1. Acvate
2. Acvaon Count Reset
Auto-Range
Acvated by holding the Auto-Range buon for 3 seconds. When triggered a 5-second count down will occur with the green LED
blinking once each second.
During Auto-Range the green LED will be solid.
Aer Auto-Range is complete the green LED will blink 3 mes.
If during Auto-Range, no object is detected or there is an error with the auto-range process (such as IR sensor malfunconing)
the value will be set to the default range.
Prole Selecon
Proles change the water savings value. Pressing the Prole Selecon buon will display the current prole. Pressing the Prole
Selecon buon again will cycle through the pre-congured proles. There are 3 proles.
1. Indicated by blue and red LEDs, and P1 on the digital display. 10% water savings.
2. Indicated by blue LEDs, and P2 on the digital display. 5% water savings.
3. (Default) Indicated by blue and green LEDs, and P3 on the digital display. 0% water savings.
To load a new prole press and hold the Prole Selecon buon for 3 seconds when the desired prole is indicated.

Acvate
The acvate buon in the interface box performs a standard ush indicated with a blue LED blink.
Acvaon Count Reset
The acvaon count is reset by holding the Acvaon Count Reset buon for 5 seconds. The red LEDs on the device will
rapidly blink when the reset has occurred.
DIGITAL DISPLAY
An IR Plate is equipped with a digital display to read the current acvaon count, alerts, and make changes to parameters.
When the valve enters maintenance mode a round-robin display will begin. If an adjustment is made, the displayed seng
and respecve LED will blink, and the round-robin will restart.
ROUND-ROBIN DISPLAY
An IR Plate connuously runs the Round-Robin Display when in Maintenance Mode.
When the Round-Robin Display begins, it will cycle through the Alert Codes, Acvaon Count, and current values of adjustable
parameters.
ALERT CODES DISPLAY
Alert codes can be seen on the digital display. Addionally, the plate will ash a red LED every 10 seconds when an alert is present.
Indicated by AL and then the code number on the COBALT Round-Robin Display.
Code 2 Acvaon Count Threshold Reached
250,000 acvaons have been reached since the last reset, indicang that the valve should be rebuilt.
Code 4 Obstrucon
An object has remained locked on for 30 minutes. Auto Acvaon is disabled. To exit obstrucon nothing must be detected
for 5 seconds.
Code 6 Disconnected or faulty Pressure/Temperature Sensor
The Pressure/Temperature sensor must be plugged in or replaced.
ACTIVATION COUNT
The current number of acvaons since the last acvaon count reset.
Indicated by AC and then the number of acvaons scrolling from right to le on the digital display.
The acvaon count is saved to memory on certain intervals depending on the total number of acvaons. For the rst 100
acvaons it saves every acvaon. From 100 to 1000 acvaons, it saves every 10 acvaons. For 1000+ acvaons it saves every
100 acvaons. For example, if the device is powered o at 215 acvaons, when powered back on it will report 210 acvaons.
