IP camera parameters
When adding a new IP camera or editing an existing one, the following parameters can be configured.
Some parameters may or may not be available depending on the manufacturer and model of the
camera being configured.
-Name: A descriptive name that will be shown onscreen to identify this camera.
-Manufacturer: Select the manufacturer of the camera, if it is directly supported by the Touchone.
Select “Generic” if the manufacturer of the camera is not listed.
-Model: Select the camera model. If the manufacturer is set to “Generic”, select the protocol and
video codec to use instead. Available combinations are: RTSP / H.264, RTSP / MPEG4, RTSP /
MJPEG, and HTTP / MJPEG.
-Channel: For multi-channel IP video encoders, such as the Grandstream GXV-3504, select which
channel to use.
-IP address / hostname: The IP address or hostname of the camera. The specified IP address or
hostname should be reachable from the Touchone.
-Path: This parameter applies to “Generic” cameras only. In order to configure this, please check
the documentation provided by the manufacturer and find the URL used to access the video
stream from a media player such as VLC, or (for HTTP / MJPEG cameras only) from a web
browser. The “path” parameter is the part of the URL that comes after the IP address, and, if
applicable, port number.
For example, for a Panasonic camera with HTTP / MJPEG streaming, with IP address
192.168.0.220 and HTTP port 8080, you would use the following URL:
http://192.168.0.220:8080/SnapShotJPEG?Resolution=320x240&Quality=Motion
In this example the value to enter in the Path field would be:
/SnapShotJPEG?Resolution=320x240&Quality=Motion
-HTTP port: Port to use for HTTP access to the camera (will use the default port if blank)
-RTSP port: Port to use for RTSP access to the camera (will use the default port if blank)
-Username: User name for IP access to the camera.
-Password: Password for IP access to the camera.
