SAFETY
Current Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations or Rules in
Force impose certain statutory obligations on gas users. This
appliance must be installed by a CORGI registered installer, or
in IE a competent person, in accordance with the above
regulations.
1. It is ESSENTIAL that the instructions in this booklet are
strictly followed, for safe, economical operation of the boiler.
1 CONTROLS OPERATION AND DISPLAY
2. Do not obstruct ventilation ducts, grilles or openings in the
boiler room, or the passage of combustion and ventilation
out to the boiler.
3. Do not store objects around or on the boiler, and keep
access clear at all times.
4. Flammable materials must not be placed in close proximity
to the boiler. Materials giving off vapours must not be stored
in the same room as the boiler.
5. A dust free environment should be maintained in the room
containing the boiler.
6. Do not turn off the boiler if it is to be left unattended in frosty
weather.
7. The boiler must not be operated without the casing correctly
fitted.
8. If it is known or suspected that a fault exists on the boiler
then is MUST NOT BE USED until the fault has been
corrected by a CORGI registered installer, or in IE a
competent person.
WARNING
This appliance MUST be efficiently earthed.
MAINTENANCE
The appliance should be serviced at least once a year by a
CORGI registered installer, or in IE a competent person.
CLEANING OUTER CASING
For normal cleaning simply dust with a dry cloth. To remove
stubborn marks and stains use a damp cloth and mild
detergent.

All CORGI registered installers carry a CORGI ID card, and have a registration number. Both should be recorded in
your Benchmark Log Book. You can check your installer by calling CORGI direct on 01563 72300

During normal operation of the imax plus II, the status of the appliance can be determined from the display.
The first 2 digits show the status of the boiler, the last 2 digits display the current flow temperature, except with
status 1, 2 or 5 when the number indicates the burner module about to start.
All other displays refer to error messages, see Frames 46 and 47 in the Installation & Servicing Instructions for
details.
On/Off Switch
The on/off switch turns the mains power on/off within the
boiler. It does not isolate the boiler from the mains.
Therefore it is important that the boiler is isolated at the
external mains connection point before removing any casing
panels.
Module and Reset Buttons
If a module locks out then its Reset Button becomes
illuminated. To reset the module you must hold down this
button whilst pressing the reset key.
Mode Key
The default mode of the boiler is standby. By pressing the
mode key it is possible to change the mode.
By pressing the mode key once, PARA mode (abbreviation for
parameter) is displayed. In this mode it is possible to
change the settings of the boiler control module.
By pressing the mode key again, DATA mode is displayed. In
this mode it is possible to read information on the operation
of the boiler.
Step Key
Having selected the mode required the step key is used to
move through the options available to be changed or checked.
+/- Key
By pressing the top or bottom of this key it is possible to
increase or decrease a value.
Store Key
After a setting has been changed, pressing the store button
holds this new value in the memory. This key is also used to
move through some options available as sub menus within
DATA mode.

TO LIGHT THE BOILER
1. Switch on the electricity supply to the boiler and check that all
external controls e.g. programmer, room thermostats, etc.
are calling for heat.
2. Set the On/Off switch on the boiler to ON.
The boiler will commence the ignition sequence, supplying
heat to the system when required.
TO SHUT DOWN THE BOILER
1. For short periods
Set the parameter 2 to '00'. Note. the boiler will still fire in
frost protection mode.
2. For longer periods
Set to OFF the on/Off switch on the boiler. Isolate the mains
supply to the boiler. For longer periods the entire system
should be drained, including the domestic hot water supply.
TO RELIGHT THE BOILER
1. After Short Periods
Reset parameter 2 to the desired setting.
2. After Long Periods
The system should be re-filled, commissioned and tested by
a CORGI registered installer, or in IE a competence person,
in accordance with the Installation & Servicing Instructions.
FROST PROTECTION
The imax plus II boiler has built into its control system the facility
to protect the boiler only against freezing.
Note.
This may not protect remote parts of the system, in which case a
separate frost thermostat should be fitted.
BOILER LOCKOUTS
When a burner module locks out, the corresponding red reset
button illuminates on the fascia. If the entire boiler locks out, an
error message is displayed (see Frames 46 & 47 of Installation
& Servicing Instructions).
To reset the boiler, press and hold the illuminated red reset
buttons of each failed module and press the reset button on the
fascia.
Note.
If it is known or suspected that a fault exists on the boiler then it
MUST NOT BE USED until the fault has been corrected by a
CORGI registered installer, or in IE a competent person.
CONDENSATE DRAIN
The condensate drain must not be modified or blocked.
Blockage of the condensate drain, caused by debris or freezing,
can cause automatic shutdown of the boiler or leakage from the
condensate trap mounted on the bottom of the boiler.
If freezing is suspected and the pipe run is accessible an
attempt may be made to free the obstruction by pouring hot
water over the exposed pipe and clearing any blockage from the
end of the pipe. If this fails to remedy the problem the
assistance of a CORGI registered installer, or in IE a competent
person, should be sought.
ESCAPE OF GAS
Should a gas leak or fault be suspected contact your local gas
supplier without delay.
Do NOT search for gas leaks with a naked flame.
