Specifications
System Description:
24 V programmable, 2- or 4-pipe
(orelectricheat),roomfancoil
unitcontrollerwithdigitaldisplay.
Quality Assurance:
UnitshallbetestedandcertifiedinaccordancewithFCCPart15for
RFinterference,isULandULCanadacertified,andmeetsEuropean
Communitystandards.
Delivery, Storage and Handling:
Eachunitshallbeindividuallypackagedfrompointofmanufacture
and shall be handled and stored in accordance with manufacturer’s
instructions.
Standard Equipment Features:
General:
The low-voltage, non-programmable digital thermostat shall be
low-voltagecapableofmaintainingroomtemperaturebycontrolling
operationofanHVACsystem.
Mounting:
Thermostat shall be wall-mounted, surface mounted, or unit mounted.
Standard Features:
Thermostat shall allow separate heating and cooling set points and
auto-changeover as standard.
Configurations:
Thethermostatshallacceptseveraldifferentequipment
configurations/applications including single-stage heating and
cooling, two stages of heating and cooling, or electric heating and
hydronicsystems.
Power:
Batteriesshallnotberequired.Duringpowerinterruption,theinternal
memoryshallstoreuser-defineddefaultsettingsforanunlimitedtime.
Display:
Thebacklitthermostatdisplayshallbelargeandeasytoreadwitha
singleadjustmenttoshowtemperatureinCelsiusorFahrenheit.
Settings:
• Thermostatshallhaveasolid-state,laser-trimmedsensorwith
one-degreecontrolaccuracytopreciselycontrolthedesiredspace
temperature to within 1 degree of user set point.
• Thethermostatshallhaveanauto-changeoverwithadjustable
deadband to enable the user to choose separate heating and
coolingsetpoints(35°Fto99°F).Thisadjustabledeadbandshallbe
configurabletouser’sspecifications(from1°to6°F)andincycles
perhour(2to6).
Other Features:
• Forsafetypurposes,thefrontpanelbuttonsshallbecapableof
beingdisabledtopreventunauthorizeduseofthethermostat.
Optional Features:
• Mountingplateandcoverplatetoallowthermostattobemounted
directlytowallortostandard2”x4”or4”x4”junctionbox.
Sequence of Operation
Four-Pipe Operation:
• TheModebuttonselectstheoperatingmodeofthethermostat.
IfOffisselected,thethermostatwillnotenterHeatingorCooling
mode.IfHeatisselected,thethermostatwillonlyenterHeating
mode(iftheroomtemperatureisbelowtheheatingsetpoint).If
Coolisselected,thethermostatwillonlyenterCoolingmode(if
theroomtemperatureisabovethecoolingsetpoint).IfAutois
selected,thethermostatwillenterHeatingorCoolingmodebased
on the room’s temperature and the heating and cooling set points.
Two-Pipe Operation:
• HeatOnly–WhenthethermostatisconfiguredforHeatOnly
operation,onlytheHeatandOffmodescanbeselected.
• CoolOnly–WhenthethermostatisconfiguredforCoolOnly
operation,onlytheCoolandOffmodescanbeselected.
• Heat/CoolwithChangeoverSensor–Whenthethermostatis
configured for operation with a changeover sensor, all the modes
are available for operation. If the water temperature is changed
duringtheyear,thethermostatwillautomaticallylockout
theincorrectmode.HeatorCoolmodesmaynotbeavailable,
depending on water temperature.
Total or Auxiliary Electric Heat:
TheModebuttonselectstheoperatingmodeofthethermostat.IfOff
isselected,thethermostatwillnotenterHeatingorCoolingmode.If
Heatisselected,thethermostatwillonlyenterHeatingmode(ifroom
temperatureisbelowtheheatingsetpoint).Fortotalelectricheat,a
callforheatwillenabletheelectricheater.Forauxiliaryelectricheat,
acallforheatwilleitherenabletheelectricheater(ifchilledwateris
inthecoil),oropenthecoilvalve(ifhotwaterisinthecoil).IfCool
isselected,thethermostatwillonlyenterCoolingmode(ifroom
temperature is above the cooling set point and chilled water is in the
coil).IfAutoisselected,thethermostatwillenterHeatingorCooling
mode based on the room’s temperature and the heating and cooling
set points.
Auto Changeover:
WhenthethermostatmodeissettoAuto,thethermostatwillprovide
automaticchangeoverfromHeatingorCoolingmodeandCoolingto
Heatingmodewhenrequired.Thethermostatwillautomaticallyswitch
to maintain the desired temperature setting. The thermostat does not
needtobemanuallychangedfromheatingtocoolingorcoolingto
heating operation.
Fan Operation:
WhenonlytheFanisinAutomode,itwillruncontinuously(unless
thermostatmodeissettoOfforthermostatisinunoccupiedmode
andheatingorcoolingarenotactive).Thethermostatwillincreaseor
decreasethefanspeedbasedonloadconditions.Fanoperationmay
alsobesettoalwaysrunatLow,Medium,orHighspeeds.
Dry Contact Switch/External Control:
• Adrycontactswitchisprovidedtoallowanexternaldevicetoforce
thethermostatintotheunoccupiedsetpointsconfiguredbythe
installer.Whenthethermostatisforcedintounoccupiedsetpoints
viathedrycontactclosure,theunoccupiediconwillblinkeach
second.
• Insomeapplications,thedrycontactswitchmaybeconfiguredto
disable the fan, heating, and cooling from a condensate switch. If
thecondensateswitchactivatesthedrycontact,thefancoilunit
will be deactivated instead of controlling to the unoccupied set
points.
Outside Sensor:
Thermostatshalldisplayoutsidetemperature(ifoptionaloutdoor
sensoriswiredtothermostat).
