Sicherheitshinweise
Battery pack RB 1
Wenn sich während des Betriebs der Bat-
tery Pack RB 1 (Akku) vollständig entlädt,
wird entsprechend den eingestellten Werten
für die „Zeitüberschreitung”, „Sicherheitsdrehzahl” und
„Sicherheitstemperatur” das Gerät (station) weiterbetrieben
oder bleibend abgeschaltet. Sollte das Gerät so eingestellt sein,
dass es bei entleerter Batterie des Wireless Controller (WiCo)
weiter laufen soll, kann die Station nur uber die „safe STOP”,
„EIN/AUS” oder den „Netzschalter” abgeschaltet werden!
HINWEIS
HINWEIS Beachten Sie die folgenden Sicherhe-
itshinweise für den Umgang mit dem
Battery Pack RB 1 (Akku):
• Bewahren Sie den Battery Pack unbedingt außerhalb der Reich-
weite von Kindern auf.
• Lagern Sie den Battery Pack an einem kühlen und trockenen Ort.
• Werfen Sie den Battery Pack niemals ins Feuer und setzen Sie ihn
nicht direkter Sonneneinstrahlung oder großer Hitze über 60 °C aus.
Der Battery Pack wird dadurch zerstört und ist nicht mehr brauchbar.
Temperaturen über 100 °C können ein Bersten zur Folge haben.
• Den Battery Pack niemals ins Wasser werfen oder Feuchtigkeit
aussetzen. Wasser kann zum Kurzschluss und damit zum Ber-
sten führen.
• Den Battery Pack nicht deformieren, quetschen oder auf andere
Weise beschädigen. Das kann zum Austreten von Batterieflüs-
sigkeit und/oder zum Bersten führen.
• Halten Sie den nicht benutzten Battery Pack fern von Büroklam-
mern, Münzen, Schlüsseln, Nägeln, Schrauben oder anderen kleinen
Metallgegenständen, die eine Überbrückung der Kontakte verursa-
chen könnten. Ein Kurzschluss kann ein Bersten zur Folge haben.
• Das Bersten eines Battery Packs kann Batterieflüssigkeit freiset-
zen und einen Brand verursachen.
• Der Battery Pack auf Lithium-Polymer Basis darf nur in den hierfür
vorgesehenen IKA®Produkten benutzt und aufgeladen werden.
• Achten Sie beim Einsetzen des Battery Pack darauf, dass sich
dieser leicht und ohne Widerstand einsetzen lässt. Wenden Sie
keine Gewalt an.
• Legen Sie den Battery Pack bei längerer Entnahme in einen ver-
schließbaren Kunststoffbeutel, um Kurzschlüsse durch Feuchtig-
keit oder Metallkontakt zu vermeiden.

• Der Betriebstemperaturbereich des Battery Packs liegt bei 0 °C
bis + 45 °C. Es ist darauf zu achten, dass der Battery Pack bei
Temperaturen unter 20 °C nicht die volle Kapazität aufweist.
• Setzen Sie nur die in den technischen Daten empfohlenen, auflad-
baren Akkutypen in das Gerät ein!
Laden Sie keine Akkus auf, die auslaufen, verfärbt, de-
formiert oder in anderer Weise beschädigt sind.
Entsorgungshinweise:
• Kleben Sie bei der Entsorgung des IKA®Battery Packs die Kon-
takte mit Klebeband ab, um Kurzschlüsse durch Feuchtigkeit oder
Metallkontakt zu vermeiden. Ein Kurzschluss kann ein Bersten zur
Folge haben.
• Werfen Sie gebrauchte Battery Packs nicht in den gewöhnlichen
Hausmüll, sondern entsorgen Sie diese fachgerecht nach den ge-
setzlichen Bestimmungen.
Sie als Endverbraucher sind gesetzlich zur Rückgabe
aller gebrauchten Batterien und Akkus verpflichtet; eine
Entsorgung über den Hausmüll ist untersagt! Schadst-
offhaltige Batterien/Akkus sind mit nebenstehendem
Symbol gekennzeichnet, die auf das Verbot der Entsor-
gung über den Hausmüll hinweisen.
• Ihre verbrauchten Batterien/Akkus können Sie unentgeltlich bei
den Sammelstellen Ihrer Gemeinde oder überall dort abgeben, wo
Batterien/Akkus verkauft werden. Sie erfüllen damit die gesetzli-
chen Verpflichtungen und leisten Ihren Beitrag zum Umweltschutz.
• Die Batterieentsorgung hat in Übereinstimmung mit den lokalen
und landesspezifischen Vorschriften zu erfolgen.
Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
• Verwendung

drahtlosen Fernsteuerung von LR 1000 control und RET control-visc.

• Drahtlose Fernsteuerung:
Bitte prüfen Sie vor Nutzung der Funkverbindung zwischen Wire-
less Controller (WiCo) und Laborgerät, ob Ihre Region in der Funk-
zulassung des Gerätes enthalten ist. Sollte das nicht der Fall sein,
kann die Fernsteuerung auch über USB-Kabel realisiert werden.
Das Gerät ist für den Gebrauch in allen Bereichen geeignet, außer:
- Wohnbereichen
- Bereiche, die direkt an ein Niederspannungs-Versorgungsnetz, das
auch Wohngebiete versorgt, angeschlossen sind.
Der Schutz für den Benutzer ist nicht mehr gewährleistet:
- Wenn das Gerät mit Zubehör betrieben wird, welches nicht vom
Hersteller geliefert oder empfohlen wird.
- Wenn das Gerät in nicht bestimmungsgemäßem Gebrauch en-
tgegen der Herstellervorgabe betrieben wird.
- Wenn Veränderungen an Gerät oder Leiterplatte durch Dritte
vorgenommen werden.

Wissenswertes
Der WiCo ist mit einem USB-Anschluss (Universal Serial Bus) aus-
gestattet, über den der WiCo mit der station verbunden werden
kann; das USB-Symbol erscheint auf dem Bildschirm.
Wenn der WiCo nicht über ein USB-Kabel an der station an-
geschlossen ist, erfolgt der Datenaustausch zwischen der sta-
tion und dem WiCo über Bluetooth®. In diesem Fall wird das
Bluetooth®-Symbol angezeigt.
Je nach Struktur des Gebäudes kann der WiCo über die
Bluetooth®-Verbindung in einem Abstand von bis zu 15 m von der
station betrieben werden.

Inbetriebnahme
Überprüfen Sie, ob die auf dem Typenschild angegebene Span-
nung mit der verfügbaren Netzspannung übereinstimmt.
Die verwendete Steckdose muss geer-
det sein (Schutzleiterkontakt).
Wenn diese Bedingungen erfüllt sind, ist das Gerät nach Einsteck-
en des Netzsteckers betriebsbereit.
Andernfalls ist sicherer Betrieb nicht gewährleistet oder das Gerät
kann beschädigt werden.
Beachten Sie die in den „ Technischen Daten“ aufgeführten
Umgebungsbedingungen.
Der Akku des Wireless Controllers (WiCo) muss vor dem ersten
Gebrauch des Gerätes an der Netzteiladapter geladen werden.
Der Akku kann auch über den USB Anschluss am WiCo geladen
werden (siehe „ Laden des Battery Packs RB 1 “ im Abschnitt
„ Vorbereitungen “ ).

Arbeiten mit dem Wireless Controller

schalten des WiCo kehrt die Steuerung wieder zum Bildschirm der
Station zurück.
HINWEIS
• Ein Not-Halt ist an der Station immer möglich.
• Beachten Sie beim Betrieb stets auf die Betriebsanleitung von
LR 1000 control und RET control-visc.

Instandhaltung und Reinigung
Das Gerät arbeitet wartungsfrei. Es unterliegt lediglich der natürli-
chen Alterung der Bauteile und deren statistischer Ausfallrate.

Safety instructions
Battery pack RB 1
If during operation the battery pack RB 1 (re-
chargeable battery) becomes fully discharged,
the device (Station) will continue to run or
be shut down depending on the value settings for “Time Out”,
“Safe Speed” and “Safe Temperature”. If the device is set so
that it continues to run when the battery of the Wireless Control-
ler (WiCo) is fully discharged, the only means of switching the
station off are the “safe STOP”, “ON/OFF” key and the “Mains
switch”!
Please note the following safety in-
structions for the battery pack RB 1
(rechargeable battery):
• Keep the battery pack out of reach of children at all times.
• Store the battery pack in a cool, dry place.
• Never throw the battery pack into a fire. Keep it away from direct
sunlight and temperatures above 60 °C. High temperatures will
damage the battery pack and render it unusable. Temperatures
above 100 °C may cause it to explode.
• Never throw the battery pack into water or expose it to mois-
ture. Water may lead to a short-circuit, causing the battery pack
to explode.
• Do not deform or crush the battery pack or damage it in any
other way. This can cause battery fluid to leak and/or the bat-
tery pack to explode.
• When not in use, keep battery packs away from paperclips,

coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects which
could cause the contacts to be bridged. Short-circuiting may
result in an explosion.
• Explosion of a battery pack may release battery fluid and cause
a fire.
• The lithium polymer battery pack must only be used and charged
in IKA®products designed for use with this battery pack.
• When the battery pack is inserted it should slide in easily and
without resistance. Do not force it.
• If the battery pack is removed for an extended period of time,
store it in a sealed plastic bag to prevent short-circuiting due to
moisture or contact with metal components.
• The operating temperature range of the battery pack is from
0 °C to + 45 °C. Note that the battery pack capacity will be
reduced at temperatures below 20 °C.
• Only the rechargeable battery types recommended in the techni-
cal data may be used in the device!
Do not charge batteries that have leaked or that are
discolored, deformed or damaged in any other way.
Disposal instructions
• When disposing of the IKA®battery pack, please tape over the
contacts with adhesive tape to prevent short-circuiting due to
moisture or contact with metal components. Short-circuiting may
result in an explosion.
• Do not throw used battery packs into your household waste.
Dispose of them properly in accordance with statutory regula-
tions.

End users are obliged by law to return all used dis-
posable and rechargeable batteries. Throwing them
into the household waste is prohibited. Disposable/re-
chargeable batteries containing harmful substances are
marked with this symbol to indicate that they may not
be disposed of as household waste.
• You can return used disposable and rechargeable batteries free
of charge to your local authority collection site or to any battery
retailer. In doing so you will be complying with statutory regula-
tions and helping to protect the environment.
• Batteries must be disposed of in accordance with local and na-
tional regulations.

Before using the wireless link between the Wireless Control-
ler (WiCo) and the laboratory device, first check whether your
region is included in the radio communication approval for the
device. If it is not, remote control can also be performed using
a USB cable.
This device is suitable for use in all areas except:
- Residential areas
- Areas that are connected directly to a low-voltage supply network
that also supplies residential areas.
The safety of the user cannot be guaranteed:
- If the device is operated with accessories that are not supplied or
recommended by the IKA®.
- If the device is operated improperly or in contrary to the IKA®
specifications.
- If the device or the printed circuit board are modified by third
parties.

Preparations

Commissioning
Check whether the voltage given on the type plate corresponds to
the available mains voltage.
The socket used must be earthed
(fitted with earth contact).
If these conditions have been met, the machine is ready for opera-
tion when the mains plug is plugged in.
If these conditions are not met, safe operation is not guaranteed
and the machine could be damaged.
Observe the ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) listed
under “Technical Data”.
The battery in the Wireless Controller (WiCo) must be charged by
the power supply adapter before the first use of the device.
The battery could also be charged via the USB port on the WiCo
(See “Charging the Battery Pack RB 1“ in “Preparations“ section).
Useful information
The WiCo is equipped with a USB socket (Universal Serial Bus)
with which the WiCo can be connected with station, the USB
icon appears on the screen.
If the WiCo is not connected with station via a USB cable, the
data exchange between the station and the WiCo via Blue-
tooth®. In this case, the Bluetooth®icon is displayed.
Depending on the structure of the building, the WiCo can be
operated at a distance up to 15 m from the station, using the
Bluetooth®connection.
Working with Wireless Controller
First use information (e.g. RET control-visc)
1) Connect WiCo to station via USB cable
2) Switch on station and WiCo
3) Follow the instructions on the WiCo screen
4) Devices will connect automatically after few seconds
5) Remove the USB cable after successful connection for wireless
control
After switching on the WiCo the operating control changes over from
the station screen to the WiCo screen. If the WiCo is switched off the
operating control changes back to the station screen.
• Emergency-Stop is always possible at the station.
• When operating, please refer to the operating instructions of
LR 1000 control and RET control-visc.

however it is subject to natural wear and tear on parts and their
statistical failure rate.

Warranty
In accordance with IKA®warranty conditions, the warranty period
is 24 months. For claims under the warranty please contact your
local dealer. You may also send the machine direct to our factory,
enclosing the delivery invoice and giving reasons for the claim. You
will be liable for freight costs.
The warranty does not cover worn out parts, nor does it apply
to faults resulting from improper use, insucient care or mainte-
nance not carried out in accordance with the instructions in this
operating manual.
Repairs
Please send in instrument for repair only after it has been
cleaned and is free from any materials which may consti-
tute a health hazard.
For repair, please request the “Decontamination Certificate”
from IKA®, or download printout of it from the IKA®website
www.ika.com.
If you require servicing, return the instrument in its original pack-
aging. Storage packaging is not sucient. Please also use suitable
transport packaging.

Consignes de sécurité
Battery pack RB 1
Si, pendant l’utilisation, le Battery Pack RB 1
(batterie) se décharge entièrement, l’appareil
continue à fonctionner ou est arrêté de façon
permanente, en fonction des valeurs réglées pour le «Time Out»,
«Safe Speed» et la «Safe Temperature». Si l’appareil est réglé
de façon à ce que le WiCo continue à fonctionner lorsque la bat-
terie est déchargée, la station peut être arrêtée uniquement au
moyen de la touche «Safe Stop», «l’interrupteur de marche/
arrêt» ou de «Commutateur».
Respecter les consignes de sécurité
suivantes pour la manipulation du Bat-
tery Pack RB 1 (batterie):
• Conserver impérativement le Battery Pack hors de portée des enfants.
• Stocker le Battery Pack au frais et au sec.
• Ne jamais jeter le Battery Pack au feu et ne pas l’exposer à la lu-
mière directe du soleil ou à une forte chaleur de plus de 60 °C. Le
Battery Pack serait détruit et non utilisable. Des températures su-
périeures à 100 °C peuvent entraîner l’éclatement du Battery Pack.
• Ne jamais jeter le Battery Pack dans l’eau et ne jamais l’exposer
à l’humidité. L’eau peut entraîner un court-circuit et donc
l’éclatement du Battery Pack.
• Ne jamais déformer, écraser ou endommager le Battery Pack de
quelque manière que ce soit. Il pourrait en résulter une fuite du
liquide de batterie et/ou l’éclatement du Battery Pack.
• Lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé, tenir le Battery Pack à l’écart des trom-

bones, agrafes, pièces de monnaie, clés, aiguilles, vis ou tout
autre objet métallique susceptible d’entraîner un court-circuit
entre les contacts. Un courtcircuit peut entraîner l’éclatement
du Battery Pack.
• L’éclatement du Battery Pack peut libérer le liquide de batterie et
déclencher un incendie.
• Le Battery Pack est une batterie au lithium-polymère et ne doit être
utilisé et rechargé qu’avec les produits IKA®prévus à cet effet.
• Lors de la mise en place du Battery Pack, veiller à ce que ce derni-
er se mette en place facilement et sans résistance. Ne pas forcer.
• S’il doit rester inutilisé pendant un certain temps, ranger le Bat-
tery Pack dans un sachet en plastique refermable afin d’éviter tout
court-circuit lié à l’humidité ou à un contact avec du métal.
• Utiliser le Battery Pack dans une plage de température de 0 °C
à + 45 °C. Le Battery Pack ne fonctionne pas à pleine capacité à
des températures inférieures à 20 °C.
• N’utiliser que les types de batteries rechargeables spécifiés dans
les caractéristiques techniques.
Ne jamais recharger des batteries qui ont coulé,
sont décolorées, déformées ou abîmées de quelque
manière que ce soit.
Instructions pour l’élimination
• Lors de l’élimination du Battery Pack IKA®, coller les contacts
avec du ruban adhésif pour éviter des courts-circuits causés par
l’humidité ou un contact métallique. Un court-circuit peut en-
traîner l’éclatement du Battery Pack.
• Ne pas jeter le Battery Pack usé dans les ordures ménagères,
mais l’éliminer conformément à la réglementation en vigueur.
