Zu Ihrem Schutz
• Lesen Sie die Betriebsanleitung vor Inbetriebnahme vollständig
durch und beachten Sie die Sicherheitshinweiset.
• Beachten Sie die Sicherheitshinweise, Richtlinien, Arbeitsschutz-
und Unfallverhütungsvorschriften.
• Bewahren Sie die Betriebsanleitung für Alle zugänglich auf.
• Beachten Sie, dass nur geschultes Personal mit dem Gerät arbeitet.
• Das Gerät darf nur unter Aufsicht betrieben werden.
•
ACHTUNG! Nur für Forschungszwecke! Nicht für den Einsatz in
der Diagnostik (gem. IVD-Richtlinien) geeignet.
Betreiben Sie das Gerät nur mit aufgestecktem
Tube, ansonsten besteht Verletzungsgefahr
durch den rotierenden Aufnahmestift.
• Tragen Sie bei Arbeiten mit dem Tube BMT-20 oder BMT-50
Gehörschutz.
Tragen Sie Ihre persönliche Schutzausrüstung
entsprechend der Gefahrenklasse des zu bear-
beitenden Mediums.
Ansonsten besteht eine Gefährdung durch:
- Spritzen von Flüssigkeiten
- Herausschleudern von Teilen
- Erfassen von Körperteilen, Haaren, Klei-
dungsstücken und Schmuck
• Stellen Sie das Gerät frei auf einer ebenen, stabilen, sauberen,
rutschfesten, trockenen und feuerfesten Fläche auf.
• Die Gerätefüße müssen sauber und unbeschädigt sein.
• Das Gerät ist nicht für Handbetrieb geeignet.
• Im Betrieb kann sich das Gerät erwärmen.
• Prüfen Sie vor jeder Verwendung Gerät und Zubehör auf Beschä-
digungen. Verwenden Sie keine beschädigten Teile.
• Achten Sie darauf, dass der Deckel fest aufgeschraubt ist.
• Achten Sie vor Inbetriebnahme darauf, dass das Tube fest auf
dem Bajonettverschluss des Antriebs fixiert ist.
• Nur bei stillstehendem Motor das Tube aufstecken und abnehmen.
Die IKA®Tubes dürfen nur im geschlossenen
Zustand betrieben werden. Schalten Sie das
Gerät sofort aus, falls Medium austritt, und
reinigen Sie das Gerät.
• Öffnen Sie nach der Anwendung das Tube vorsichtig, da sich
durch Energiereintrag das Medium erwärmen kann und sich
Überdruck im Gefäß bildet: Medium kann herausspritzen, tragen
Sie Ihre persönliche Schutzausrüstung.
• Die Mediumstemperatur darf 40 °C nicht überschreiten.
• Setzen Sie nur von IKA®freigegebene Tubes ein.
• Bearbeiten Sie nur Medien, bei denen der Energieeintrag durch
das Bearbeiten unbedenklich ist. Dies gilt auch für andere Ener-
gieeinträge, z.B. durch Lichteinstrahlung.
• Beachten Sie eine Gefährdung durch entzündliche Materialien.
• Betreiben Sie das Gerät nicht in explosionsgefährdeten Atmosphären,
mit Gefahrstoffen und unter Wasser.
• Nach einer Unterbrechung der Stromzufuhr läuft das Gerät nicht
von selbst wieder an.
• Sicheres Arbeiten ist nur mit Zubehör, das im Kapitel “Zubehör“
beschrieben wird, gewährleistet.
Zum Schutz des Gerätes
• Spannungsangabe des Typenschildes muss mit Netzspannung über-
einstimmen.
• Das Gerät darf nur mit dem originalen Steckernetzteil betrieben
werden.
• Vermeiden Sie Stöße und Schläge auf Gerät oder Zubehör.
• Das Gerät darf nur von einer Fachkraft geöffnet werden.

Wissenswertes
Die prozessbedingte Änderung der Viskosität und die Menge des zu
dispergierenden Mediums können geringe Schwankungen der Dreh-
zahl bewirken.
Inbetriebnahme
Beachten Sie die in den “Technischen Daten“ aufgeführten Umge-
bungsbedingungen.

Stellen Sie vor Inbetriebnahme den Drehknopf
(B) auf Linksanschlag.
Wenn alle Bedingungen erfüllt sind, ist das
Gerät nach Einstecken des Netzsteckers be-
triebsbereit.

Tube aufstecken
Stecken Sie das Tube sorgfältig
und vollständig auf.
Drehzahleinstellung
Die gewünschte Drehzahl wird stufen-
los im Bereich von 300 - 6000 rpm
am Drehknopf (B) eingestellt.
Starten
Taste “Start/Stop” (C) drücken,
eingestellter Countdown läuft,
Display Timer blinkt.
Nach Ablauf ertönt ein akustisches
Signal.
Countdown abbrechen
Drücken Sie die Taste “Start/Stop” (C).
Ausschalten
DrückenSie die Taste “Power” (A).
 Display:
 Ein akustisches Signal ertönt.
Korrektur: Gerät ausschalten, Befüllung kontrollieren, Gerät ein-
schalten.
Fehlermeldung
Medium kann zwischen den Schneiden verklemmen. Das Gerät wech-
selt bis zu dreimal selbstständig die Drehrichtung um die Schneidein-
richtung freizubekommen. Ist es nicht möglich, schaltet das Gerät ab.
Blockiert das Gerät 3x in einer bestimmten Zeiteinheit erfolgt die Feh-
lermeldung:

Tragen Sie zum Reinigen des Gerätes Schutzhandschuhe.
Elektrische Geräte dürfen zu Reinigungszwecken nicht in das Reini-
gungsmittel gelegt werden.
Beim Reinigen darf keine Feuchtigkeit in das Gerät dringen.
Bevor eine andere als die vom Hersteller empfohlene Reinigungs-
oder Dekontaminierungsmethode angewandt wird, hat sich der
Benutzer beim Hersteller zu vergewissern, dass die vorgesehene
Methode das Gerät nicht zerstört.

Bei Ersatzteilbestellungen geben Sie bitte Folgendes an:
- Gerätetyp
- Fabrikationsnummer des Gerätes, siehe Typenschild
- Positionsnummer und Bezeichnung des Ersatzteiles,

an, oder verwenden Sie den download Ausdruck des For-
mulares auf der IKA

Website www.ika.com.
Senden Sie im Reparaturfall das Gerät in der Originalverpackung
zurück. Lagerverpackungen sind für den Rückversand nicht aus-
reichend. Verwenden Sie zusätzlich eine geeignete Transportver-
packung.
Gewährleistung
Entsprechend den IKA
®
-Verkaufs- und Lieferbedingungen beträgt
die Gewährleistungszeit 24 Monate. Im Gewährleistungsfall wenden
Sie sich bitte an Ihren Fachhändler, oder senden Sie das Gerät unter
Beifügung der Lieferrechnung und Nennung der Reklamationsgrün-
de direkt an unser Werk. Frachtkosten gehen zu Ihren Lasten.
Die Gewährleistung erstreckt sich nicht auf Verschleißteile und gilt
nicht für Fehler, die auf unsachgemäße Handhabung und unzurei-
chende Pflege und Wartung, entgegen den Anweisungen in dieser
Betriebsanleitung, zurückzuführen sind.

For your protection
• Read the operating instructions in full before starting up
and follow the safety instructions.
• Follow the safety instructions, guidelines, occupational health
and safety and accident prevention regulations.
• Keep the operating instructions in a place where they can be
accessed by everyone.
• Ensure that only trained staff work with the appliance.
• The device must be supervised at all times when in operation.
•
Caution! For research purposes only! Not suitable for
diagnostic use (in accordance with the IVD Directive).
The device must only be operated with a tube
attached; with no tube there is a risk of injury
from the rotating locating pin.
• Hearing protection must be worn when working with BMT-20
or BMT-50 tubes.
Wear your personal protective equipment in
accordance with the hazard category of the
medium to be processed.
Otherwise there is a risk of:
- splashing liquids
- projectile parts
- body parts, hair, clothing and jewellery getting caught.
•Set up the device in a spacious area on an even, stable, clean,
non-slip, dry and fireproof surface.
• The feet of the device must be clean and undamaged.
• The device is not suitable for manual operation.
• The device may heat up when in use.
• Check the device and accessories beforehand for damage each
time when you use them. Do not use damaged components.
• Ensure that the cover on the tube is screwed on tightly.
• Ensure that the tube is firmly attached to the bayonet lock con-
nector on the drive unit prior to operating the device.
• The tube must only be attached and removed while the motor is
stationary.
The IKA
®
tubes must always be closed when
the device is in operation. Switch off the device
immediately if any material leaks from the tube. Clean the device.
• Always open the tube carefully after use as the media in the tube
may heat up due to transfer of energy during operation, lead-
ing to pressurization of the container: risk of material spraying,
protective equipment must be worn.
• The temperature of the material must not exceed 40 °C.
• Only use tubes approved by IKA®.
• Only process media that will not react dangerously to the extra
energy produced through processing. This also applies to any
extra energy produced in other ways, e.g. through light irradia-
tion.
• Beware of the risk of flammable materials.
• Do not operate the device in explosive atmospheres, with haz-
ardous substances or under water.
• The device doesn’t start up again automatically following a cut
in the power supply.
• Safe operation is only guaranteed with the accessories described
in the ”Accessories” chapter.
For protection of the device
• The voltage stated on the name plate must correspond to the
mains voltage.
• The device must only be operated with the original plug-in pow-
er supply unit.
• Protect the device and accessories from bumps and impacts.
• The device may only be opened by experts.

Useful facts
Changes in viscosity and volume caused by processing of disper-
sion media may cause small fluctuations in the speed of the device.
Pay attention to the ambient conditions listed in the “Technical
Data”.
Commissioning
Position the rotating knob (B) at the left stop
before starting up.
If these conditions are met, the unnit is rea-
dy for service when the mains plug has been
plugged in.
Switching on:
Press “Power” button (A).
Previous mode and time settings will be dis-
played e.g. :

Switch off the device.
Minutes-mode
Press and hold “Start/STOP” button (C),
and also press the “Power” button (A).

Attaching the tube
Fit the tube carefully and ensure it is properly
attached.
Setting the speed
Set the desired speed in the range of 300–
6000 rpm using the infinitely adjustable raro-
tary knob (B).
Starting
Press “Start/Stop” button (C),
while the preset countdown is running, timer
display will blink.
An audible signal will be given when
the countdown is complete.
Seconds-mode
Press and hold “Start/STOP” button (C),
and also press the “Power” button (A).

Error message
It is possible for the media to become lodged between the cutters
of the DT-tubes. The unit will automatically change the direction
of rotation up to three times in an attempt to free the cutters. The
unit will switch off automatically if this is not possible.
If the device becomes blocked on three occasions within a certain
period of time the following error message will occur:
 Display:
 An audible signal will be given.
Corrective action: Switch off the device, check con-
tents, switch on the device.

Warranty
In accordance with IKA
®
warranty conditions, the warranty period is
24 months. For claims under the warranty please contact your local
dealer. You may also send the machine direct to our works, enclos-
ing the delivery invoice and giving reasons for the claim. You will be
liable for freight costs.
The warranty does not cover wearing parts, nor does it apply to
faults resulting from improper use or insucient care and mainte-
nance contrary to the instructions in this operating manual.
Maintenance
The drive unit is maintenance-free but not immune from wear. The
carbon brushes of the motor wear down over the time.
For cleaning disconnect the mains plug.
Only use cleansing agents which have been recommended by IKA
®
.

Wear protective gloves during cleaning the instruments.
Electrical instruments may not be placed in the cleansing agent for
the purpose of cleaning.
Do not allow moisture to get into the instrument when cleaning.
Before using another than the recommended method for cleaning
or decontamination, the user must ascertain with IKA®that this
method does not destroy the instrument.

When ordering spare parts, please give:
- machine type
- manufacturing number, see type plate
- item and designation of the spare part, see www.ika.com,
spare parts diagram and spare parts list.
Repair
In case of repair the device has to be cleaned and free from
any materials which may constitute a health hazard.
For repair, please request the “Decontamination Certificate”
form IKA®or use the download printout of it from IKA®website:
www.ika.com.
If you require servicing, return the appliance in its original packag-
ing. Storage packaging is not sucient. Please also use suitable
transport packaging.

ATTENTION! À des fins de recherche uniquement! Con-
vient uniquement au diagnostic (conformément aux direc-
tives IVD).
Ne faire fonctionner l'appareil qu'avec le tube
posé pour éviter tout risque de blessure par la
goupille de positionnement en rotation.
• Porter une protection auditive lors de l'utilisation du Tube BMT-20
et BMT-50.
Portez votre équipement de protection person-
nel selon la classe de danger du milieu à traiter.
Sinon, vous vous exposez à des danger:
- aspersion de liquides

- happement de parties du corps, cheveux,
habits et bijoux.
• Placez l'appareil en aire spacieuse sur une surface plane, stable,
propre, non glisssante, sèche et inflammable.
• Les pieds de l'appareil doivent être propres et en parfait état.
• L'appareil n'est pas adapté à un fonctionnement manuel.
• En fonctionnement, l'appareil peut s'échauffer.
• Avant toute utilisation, contrôlez l'état de l'appareil et des accessoires.
N'utilisez pas les pièces endommagées.
• Veiller à visser correctement et à fond le couvercle.
• Avant la mise en service, veiller à ce que le tube soit fixé correcte-
ment sur la fermeture à baïonnette de l'entraînement.
• Ne poser et n'enlever le tube que lorsque le moteur est à l'arrêt.
Les IKA
®
tubes ne doivent être utilisés qu'à
l'état fermé. Éteindre immédiatement l'appa-
reil et le nettoyer en cas de sortie du milieu.
• Après utilisation, ouvrir le tube prudemment car l'énergie dé-
gagée peut chauffer le milieu et une surpression peut se former
dans le récipient : le milieu peut être projeté, porter un équipe-
ment de protection individuelle adapté.
• La température du milieu ne doit pas dépasser 40 °C.
• Introduire uniquement des tubes autorisés par IKA
®
.
• Ne traitez que des milieux pour lesquels l'apport d'énergie pen-
dant l'opération ne pose pas problème. Cela vaut aussi pour les
autres apports d'énergie, par ex. comme la radiation lumineuse.
• Vous vous exposez à des dangers par les matériaux inflammables.
• N'utilisez pas l'appareil dans les atmosphères explosives, avec des
matières dangereuses et sous l'eau.
• Après une coupure de l'alimentation électrique, l'appareil ne re-
démarre pas seul.
• La sécurité de l'appareil n'est assurée qu'avec les accessoires
décrits dans le chapitre "Accessoires".
Pour la protection de l’appareil
• L'indication de tension de la plaque d’identification doit correspondre
avec la tension du réseau.
• L'appareil ne doit être utilisé qu'avec l'alimentateur d'origine.
