WARNINGAND SAFETY INFORMATION
•Carefully read and understand the User Manual, Installation Guide and Electrical
Service Information for the subjected vehicle before beginning work.
•Install in a well-lit, dry, covered area from the elements and keep at least one
window open at all times during the installation. Do not leave the ikey inside the
detection range. Prepare all tools required for the installation. Special tools may
be necessary depending on vehicle.
•Verify the vehicle has a proper ground and does not have any outstanding
electrical/functional issues prior to installation.
•To avoid a short circuit, it is recommended to pull-out related fuses before
installation and put them back when installation is complete.
•Only locate necessary wires related to the installation (most required wires are
under the driver dash/kick panel areas) and connect them to the unit according to
the wiring diagram. Use a Multimeter to verify and confirm wire’s function and
polarity before connecting or disconnecting. We strictly prohibit testing or
modifying the vehicle’s ECU, airbag and ABS systems.
•Begin function tests on the system after verifying and ensuring all wires have been
connected correctly and insulated properly.
PRE-INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS
DO NOT power up the module before it is properly grounded.
Should the unit be powered before being grounded, serious
damage to internal components could occur.

Connect this output to the vehicle’s Starter input at the ignition switch.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the ignition current is not rated for more than 30A. Connect to external relay with
higher current rating if required.

Connect to a constant +12V supply wire at the ignition switch. Ensure that the OEM input power wire is fused
for no more than 30A.
Note: When no suitable +12V source available, connect to vehicle’s power supply at the fuse junction box or
connect directly to the Positive + terminal on the battery.

If applicable, connect this output wire to the vehicle’s secondary ignition (ON 2) input at the ignition switch.
This output will be +12V in ON and RUN state and OFF while cranking.

Connect to bare, unpainted metal on chassis. It is recommended to use a factory ground bolt rather than a self

tapping screw. Screws tend to get loose or rusted over time and lead to erratic electrical problems.

Connect to a constant +12V supply wire at the ignition switch. Ensure that the OEM input power wire is fused
for no more than 30A.

Push Button Start ACC Harness Wiring Description

Bypass Module Control
This wire provides a constant 250mA positive output, 1 second before the vehicle is started while the system
is in ACC, RUN and START states. The output can be used to activate external relays or a bypass module.

Factory Security Bypass
This wire provides a constant 500mA negative output while the vehicle is in ACC,RUN and CRANK positions.
The output becomes active 0.5 sec before ACC is on, and becomes inactive when the PBS module shuts down
the vehicle. The output can be used to control a data or bypass module.
Black INPUT
Neutral Safety Switch
Required for remote start function only. Connect this input to a ground source when the vehicle is in PARK or
NEUTRAL. This will prevent the vehicle from being remote started while in gear. See Remote Start Function
on page 9 for more information on connecting and testing this input.
IMPORTANT: Test Neutral Safety Switch to Ensure the vehicle can NOT start while in gear.
Purple INPUT
PKE AUTHORIZATION
Connect this input to the PBS control wire from the PKE module.
Pink INPUT
Wait-to-Start
Optional for remote start. Connect to the negative side of the Glow Plug Light. This input will monitor the
Glow Plug Light for “Wait to Start” signal and it will wait up to 18 seconds until the Glow Plug Light goes out
before starting the engine. Note: this input is not required for non-diesel vehicles.
Brown INPUT
Brake Input
Connect this to the cold side of the brake so that when the brake is depressed this wire receives 12V’s.
Note:
this input is required for the engine to start, stop and then programming, therefore it is essential that it
is properly installed and tested before starting the system.

Switching between the Ignition modes (Without pressing the Brake pedal)
(All LED colors relate to Lexus style buttons)
•The AMBER status light is on after the ikey is identified (The Ignition is enabled and system is ready).
•Push the start button once to turn on the ACC circuit and the status light turns solid GREEN.
•Push the start button a second time to turn on the IGNITION and the status light turns on solid RED.
•Push the start button a third time to switch the unit into OFF mode, the status light turns solid
AMBER.
•The over all sequence is: OFF > ACC > ON > OFF.
To START the Engine
Press and apply the brake under any mode (OFF, ACC or ON), press-and-hold the start button to engage
the starter, release the button after the engine is started.
•Alternatively or in an emergency situation, without applying the brake while in the OFF state, press and
hold the start button for 2 seconds to engage the starter, release the button after the engine is started.
•After the engine is running, release the start button first then release the brake.
•If the system fails to start, the system will enter RUN mode. You must walk the unit through a OFF
sequence (exit the RUN mode) before attempting to restart the engine.
To TURN-OFF the Engine
•Apply the brake then press and hold the start button for half a second to turn the ignition OFF.
•Alternatively or in an emergency situation, without applying the brake, press and hold the button for
3 seconds to turn the ignition OFF.

STEERING COLUMN LOCK BYPASS
To achieve a completely keyless ignition system the OEM steering column lock needs to be bypassed. You
can completely remove the cylinder or physically disable the steering column lock or use the shaved key
method. The “Shaved-Key” method is an easy way to bypass this function:
1. Have a local locksmith duplicated a factory key. You can also use the Valet key.
2. Mark on the key when it is fully inserted into the key cylinder.
3. With the help of pliers and cutter, shave off the key above the marking.
4. Insert the shaved key into the key cylinder and switch to ACC position.
5. Optionally, cover the key cylinder with the optional key cover to conceal the key cylinder.
6. Bypass the vehicles Keysense input as shown in the following Wiring Diagram.

FAQ
How does Push Button Start work and how do I know if it is working normally?
Refer to “Push Button Start Overview” on page 6 for Push Button Start ignition Sequence and follow
the “TESTING AND TROUBLESHOOTING” diagram on page 9 to verify the system is working properly.
Why is the Start button dead / not working?
Check the system's input power, Check to make sure the unit has a good ground signal, also make sure
the authorization wire is hooked up to the PKE unit. The system may also be in RUN mode, walk the
system through a shut down sequence.
The Start button will activate ACC and ON, but the STARTER wont Crank?
1. Before pressing the Start Button, make sure the Start Button is flashing when brake is applied(unless
clutch switch is being used).
2. Make sure the vehicle is in the Park or Neutral position.
3. If this is a manual transmission vehicle, the clutch will need to be depressed.
4. Check voltage and for open fuses on the main 8-pin harness Battery 12v+ inputs.
5. Make sure the starter wire is connected.
6. Check connections. Make sure that all harnesses connectors are fully plugged into the module and it
is making solid connections to the vehicle wiring.
The vehicle starts, but immediately stops:
1. Does the vehicle have an immobilizer? The vehicle’s immobilizer can cut the fuel and/or spark
during an unauthorized START and it needs to be bypassed.
2. When pressing the start button make sure the button is pressed long enough to allow engine to turn
over and fully start.
Why does the system turn on the Ignition and ACC every time I connect power to it?
As a safety feature to protect against a sudden/brief loss of power while vehicle is running (such as a
loose connection on power or ground), it will default back to RUN Mode when power is resumed. To
exit RUN mode, apply the brake and press and hold the button for 2+ sec to switch back to OFF mode.
Why is the button status LED flashing Green/Red (Lexus style buttons) when attempting to crank the
engine?
Check the battery, there is not enough power to crank the engine and keep the system running at the
same time. The System requires a minimum of 10v to operate and if voltage drops below 10v while the
starter is engaged it will turn OFF the system. This can cause the Ignition/Starter to drop out
simultaneously. The status LED flashes Green/Red to indicate the system is rebooting after power has
been restored.

FAQ
My engine is running how do I turn it off?
To exit RUN mode, apply the brake and press and hold the button for 2+ sec to switch back to OFF
mode.
Why do I have to press the button 2x to start engine?
Some vehicles do not supply power to the brake switch when the vehicle is OFF . To Remedy this, you
will need to use a clutch/ brake switch that has a constant 12V on one side.

•Connecting the wire harnesses and powering up the system, check and confirm system works properly
(Refer to Testing and Troubleshooting) verify functions of the vehicle are in working order.
•Make sure all wiring connections are insulated properly. Place and secure modules to locations inside
the dash and bundle all loose wiring. Put back all trim panels
•When mounting the module in the vehicle, consider the location carefully. You should make sure that
you avoid any location where the module is exposed to moisture, extreme heat or interference with
moving parts on the vehicle.
•Explain all functions of the system to the customer.
