1 INTRODUCTION
Important information: Read the manual carefully before using this device.
Inappropriate utilization may cause damage to the device, to the DUT (device under test), and/or other
components of your setup.
Please keep these instructions in a safe place and pass them on to any future user.
1.1 Conformity
We, Image Engineering GmbH & Co. KG, hereby declare that the “iQ-AF Box”corresponds to the
essential requirements of the following EC directive:
•Electromagnetic Compatibility - 2014/30/EU
•RoHS 2 - 2011/65/EU
•Low Voltage - 2014/35/EU
1.2 Intended use
The iQ-AF Box is designed to illuminate a test chart at different light levels. Any test chart of the size
124.5 x 83.5 cm can be inserted into the backside of the box.
•Only suitable for indoor use.
•Place your system in a dry, constant tempered environment without light interference.
•The optimal ambient temperature is 22 - 26 degrees Celsius, and the maximum ambient
temperature is 18 - 28 degrees Celsius.
1.3 General safety information
WARNING!
•Do not open the device without instructions from the Image Engineering support team or when
connected to the power supply.
•Do not reach your hands into the device's housing when connected to the power supply.
•Do not change the fluorescent tubes when connected to the power supply.
•Do not modify the device.

2 GETTING STARTED
2.1 Scope of Delivery
•iQ-AF Box
•Set of fluorescent tubes (D50)
•Power cable
•Test chart
3 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
3.1 Overview
The fluorescent tubes must be burned for 100 hrs. before you can start with the measurement.
Warm-up time: 10 minutes.

•The left switch turns on the left and right fluorescent tubes, while the right switch turns on the fluorescent
tubes above and below. Below the switches is the input for the power cable.
•With the rotary control units, you can vary the intensities of the fluorescent tubes. The switch above can
quickly shift between two previously adjusted light intensities without measuring the illuminance again.

4 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
4.1 Maintenance
The service life of the fluorescent tubes amounts to 15.000 hrs. When replacing the fluorescent tubes,
keep in mind that they must burn in for 100 hrs. before use.
4.2 Disposal instructions
After the service life of the iQ-AF Box, it must be disposed of properly. Electrical and electromechanical
components are included in the iQ-AF Box. Observe your national regulations and ensure that third parties
cannot use the iQ-AF Box after disposing of it.
