3SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Comply with the following safety instructions and the latest state of the art.
3.1 GENERAL
-The safety system may be installed only by specialised/competent experts familiar
with the safety system, and in compliance with the current state of the art.
- The safety system may be tted or used only by persons who:
• are trained in "personal protective equipment" (PPE),
• are in good physical and mental health. (Medical conditions such as
cardiovascular problems, intake of medicines, consumption of alcohol, etc.
negatively aect the safety of the user.),
• are familiar with the locally applicable safety regulations.
-A plan must be available that species rescue procedures for all possible emergencies.
-Before starting work, ensure that no objects can fall to the ground from the work site.
The area below the work site (pavement, etc.) must be kept clear.
-You should plan, install and use the restraint system in such a way that no one can
fall over the edge if the personal protective equipment is used properly. (See planning
documents at www.innotech.at)
-For the access to the safety system, you must document the positions of the
attachment devices by means of diagrams (e.g. top view of the roof).
-After a fall and the resulting strain, you must stop using the safety system, and have
it checked by a specialised/competent expert (component parts, fastening to the
substructure, etc.).
-If the environment is not natural (e.g. chemical substances), the manufacturer must
be contacted.
-Do not make any changes to the safety system.
-During the installation/use of the safety system, the relevant accident prevention
regulations must be complied with, as must the rules and standards for the use
of personal protective equipment designed to prevent falls.
-If you provide the safety system to external contractors, understanding of this
instruction manual has to be conrmed in written form.
-If the safety system is sold in other countries, the instruction manual must
be provided in the respective national language.
-Comply with the local lightning protection regulations.

3SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
3.3 FOR USERS: FOR SAFE USE
- All stainless steel bolts must be greased with a suitable lubricant before installation
(included: Weicon AntiSeize ASW 10000 or equivalent quality)
- Ensure that stainless steel does NOT come into contact with swarf or steel tools.
This may lead to corrosion.
-The tters must ensure that the substructure is suitable for fastening the safety
system. If in doubt, consult a structural engineer.
- Document the professional attachment of the safety system to the building structure
with dowel logs and photos of each tting situation.
If uncertainties arise during installation, it is imperative that you contact
the manufacturer.
-The minimum free space necessary under the edge is calculated as follows:
Manufacturer's specication of the personal protective equipment used, including
deection of the cable + body height + 1 m safety margin.
- Fastening on the safety system always occurs through the rotating anchorage eye
with a carabiner and must be used with personal protective equipment in accordance
with EN 361 (safety harness) and EN 363 (fall arrest system).
- For horizontal use, only lanyards may be used that are suited for this purpose and
have been tested for the respective edges (sharp edges, trapezoidal sheeting, steel
girders, concrete, etc.). The correct use of the lanyard limits the maximum force
on the user to 6 kN during a fall arrest event.
- Correct use of the individual elements including personal protective equipment
must be ensured, because otherwise the safe functioning of the safety system
is NOT guaranteed.
- Do NOT use safety systems if wind speeds are higher than normal.
- Following strong storms, inspect the metal roof system (substructure) before
continuing to use the safety system.
- If used on sloping roofs, roof avalanches (ice, snow) must be avoided by means
of suitable devices to intercept snow.
-The safety system must NOT be used by children and pregnant women.

INNOTECH "EAP-SANDWICH-13"was developed as an anchor point for the personal
safety of 3 people (including 1 person for the provision of rst aid) and it is suitable
for the following safety systems in accordance with EN 363:2008:
- Restraint systems
- Workplace positioning systems
- Fall arrest systems
- Rescue systems
5PRODUCTSUITABILITY/APPROVAL

- INNOTECH "SANDWICH-13" must be used ONLY for personal safety.
-NEVER hang loads from the INNOTECH "SANDWICH-13" which are NOT
expressly approved in these user instructions.

DANGER
INNOTECH "AIO-SANDWICH-13" was developed
-as an fastening point for personal safety for end and corner points,
and for intermediate brackets (not included in scope of delivery) in the
INNOTECH horizontal lifeline system as per EN 795:2012 & CEN/
TS 16415:2013 TYPE C and
-as an anchor point for personal safety for 3 people (including 1 person for
provision of rst aid) as per EN 795:2012 & CEN/TS 16415:2013 TYPE A
(EAP-SPAR-10-25), and is suitable for the following safety systems as per
EN 363:2008:
- Restraint systems
- Workplace positioning systems
- Fall arrest systems
- Rescue systems
Comply with the manufacturer's instructions for the personal
protective equipment which is used.
INNOTECH "EAP-SANDWICH-13" has been tested and certied as per EN 795:2012 &
CEN/TS 16415:2013 TYPE A.
INNOTECH "AIO-SANDWICH-13" has been tested and certied as per EN 795:2012 &
CEN/TS 16415:2013 TYPE C.
5.2 APPOVAL OF INNOTECH "AIO-SANDWICH-13"

6.1 CHECK BEFORE EVERY USE
6INSPECTION
Use the test intervals indicated in the test log.
If there are any doubts concerning the safe usage of the system, it is
NOT allowed to be used any more and has to be checked by an expert
(written documentation). If necessary, replace the product.
6.2 INSPECT EVERY YEAR
HAVE INNOTECH "SANDWICH-13"checked at least once a year by a specially trained
technician who is familiar with the restraint system. The user's safety depends on the
eectiveness and durability of the equipment.
Shorter intervals between inspections may be required, depending on the intensity of use
and the environment (e.g. in corrosive atmospheres, etc.).
Document the inspection of the specialist in the test log in the instruction manual,
and keep it with the instruction manual.
DANGER TO LIFE through damage to the INNOTECH
"SANDWICH-13".
- INNOTECH "SANDWICH-13" must be in perfect working condition.
- Do NOT continue to use INNOTECH "SANDWICH-13" if
• Damage or wear to its components is obvious,
• Other defects were observed (loose threaded connections,
deformation, corrosion, wear),
• Strain has occurred due to a fall (Exception: provision of rst aid),
• The product identication is illegible.

DANGER
PRIOR TO EACH USE, INNOTECH "SANDWICH-13" must be checked visually for any
obvious defects.
Check the entire safety system's suitability for use, by using the acceptance protocol
and test protocol.

7WARRANTY
The warranty period for manufacturing defects on all components (under normal
conditions of use) is 2 years from the date of purchase. The time limit is shortened if it
is used in corrosive atmospheres.
If there is strain (a fall, weight of snow, etc.,) the warranty claim is void for those
components that have been designed to absorb energy, or that may possibly be deformed.
For system installation and for components planned and installed
under the responsibility of specialised installation companies,
INNOTECH® assumes neither responsibility nor warranty in the case
of improper installation.

10 INSTALLATION SUBSTRUCTURE
The basic requirement for professional/proper installation is
-a corrugated sheet roof laid as per the applicable standards/regulations:
(Material thickness of steel ≥ 0.6 mm),
- a statically bearing substructure and
- the use of the original fasteners listed in these instruction manual.
During installation, the coating of coated metal sheeting must NOT be damaged.
DANGER TO LIFE as a result of installation on unsuitable assembly
substructure.
- Install INNOTECH "SANDWICH-13" onto a statically load bearing metal
roof system.
- Ensure that the substructure is statically load-bearing. In cases of
doubt, have the installation substructure examined by a statics engineer
or by the manufacturer.
