Power
The CV-3222 is an in-line RS-232 to RS-422 converter. This
product works well with all IMS indexer products and is useful
when the indexer device is at a distance greater than 50 feet
which is the RS-232 limit. The CV-3222 is recommended for use
with the following IMS products:

A gender converter or DB25M to DB-9F adapter is required to
plug the RS-232 side directly into a PC serial COM port.
WARNING! The ground (GND) of
the converter MUST be connected
to the ground pin on the IMS
indexer product or damage may
occur to the product!
Most PC serial ports are able to provide sufficient power
to the CV-3222 provided a standard adapter is used to
connect the CV-3222 to the COM port. If this is the case
it is not necessary to use an external +12VDC supply.
