Unplug from electrical outlet when not in use and before

Never operate this vacuum cleaner without a dust bag and filters
in place.
Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.Do

Use only for intended use as described in this manual. Use only
the manufacturer's recommended attachments and dust bag.
Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working
as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or fell into
water, return the vacuum cleaner to InterVac or an authorized
service dealer for examination and repair.
Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any openings
blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair and any other material that
may reduce air flow. If the secondary filter becomes dirty,
rinse in warm water or replace with a new filter. Filter should be
completely dry before using.
Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
Turn off all controls before unplugging.
Do not pull or carry by cord, do not use cord as a handle, do not
close a door on the cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or
corners. Do not run over cord. Keep cord away from
heated surfaces.

Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not
the cord.
Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away
from any openings and all moving parts.
Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as
cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
Use extra caution when cleaning on stairs.
Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
Do not pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as
gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
Do not place objects against the vacuum cleaner. Keep area
clear.
Do not step on the hose or pull the hose forcibly.
Do not pick up large objects such as waste paper or cloth,
which may clog the hose.
Do not install this vacuum cleaner in an area exposed to high
temperatures.
Install this vacuum cleaner in a dry place.
Do not attempt to service the vacuum cleaner. Unit is sealed
and cannot be opened without damage to the unit. For service,
call your local authorized service dealer, or InterVac Design's
Customer Care Center.

Polarization Instructions for models with 120volt cord only.
These appliances have a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not
fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

1) Remove the door from the vacuum, by pulling from the top on the curved bracket.
inside you will find:
1 black flanged fitting with 4 screws
1 white reducer
. 1 pipe coupling
1 pipe slider with 2 o-rings inside
2) Take the black flanged fitting and insert the o-ring side of the fitting first, into the hole inside
the top of vacuum chamber and secure with the 4 screws supplied. See pic. below.
Generously apply a lubricant, like Vaseline, to the o-ring on the black fitting.
3) Find the reducer and the pipe coupling and glue together.
Position and install mounting bracket for the vacuum at a comfortable height on the wall.
Hang the vacuum over the mounting bracket. Watch that the yellow, low voltage wire, are in their groove.
The 120 volt power receptacle should be within 4 feet.
6) Take the glued reducer/coupling and place over the o-ring fitting on top of the vacuum.
Now bring the new connecting pipe from the ceiling or the wall straight in line with the reducer/coupling.
You need ½” space between the pipe and the coupling. Deburr the end of the pipe after cutting.
Align as perfect as possible.
7) Now generously lubricate the 2 o-rings in the slider with Vaseline. Push the slider onto the pipe coming
from the ceiling. The o-ring closest to one end of the slider should point down.
Align the pipe with the coupling and push slider onto the coupling.
8) Attach the cord to the receptacle.

Lift the valve cover on the door, to test the vacuum with the switch on the lower right
side.

1) Remove the door from the vacuum, by pulling from the top on the curved bracket.
inside you will find:
1 black flanged fitting with 4 screws

2) Take the black flanged fitting and insert the o-ring side of the fitting first, into the hole inside
the top of vacuum chamber and secure with the 4 screws supplied. See pic. below.

3) Find the reducer and the pipe coupling and glue together.
9) Install the mounting bracket to the wall, in center line with the pipe from the ceiling and measure 2-1/16”
from pencil mark downwards. See drawing next page.
10) See to it, that the 2 yellow low voltage wires, in the back of the vacuum are nicely tucked into the groove.
Connect the yellow wires to the wires from the installed pipe system.
Install the electrical plug into the receptacle.
4) Locate pipe coming out of the ceiling or the wall, and the receptacle in the wall from the old vacuum.
5) Position the vacuum at a comfortable height on the wall as close as possible in line with the
pipe from the ceiling. If necessary use 2 x 45 degree elbows to align ceiling pipe.
You also might have to extend the pipe.
6) Take the glued reducer/coupling and place over the o-ring fitting on top of the vacuum.
7) Now push the slider onto the pipe from the ceiling. The o-ring closest to one end should point down.
8) Slide the vacuum up the wall until there is about 1/2” space between the ceiling pipe and the
reducer/coupling fitting. With a pencil mark the top of the vacuum.
hang the vacuum on the mounting bracket, and check if the electric cord reaches the receptacle.
11) Now push the slider down onto the reducer/coupling.
Lift the valve cover on the door, to test the vacuum with the switch on the lower right
side.

Model 660-F new construction installation
In-wall installation with attachedPower Cord
1) Use the large mounting frame and slide it between the 2 studs. Adjust the height position
so that the customer can access the vacuum comfortable.
2) Use the supplied 8 fasteners to attach the frame in place.
3) Place the white pipe reducer (supplied) on top of the frame into the center cavity.
4) Now connect and glue your in-wall pipes to the reducer. The reducer has to stand on the
bottom of the cavity.
5) Stretch your low voltage wires to about the center of the frame. Curl them up or tape them to
a stud, so that the dry-wall installer does not cut the wires with his tool when he removes
dry-wall from the center of the frame.
2x4 stud wall, without dry-wall installed.
2 studs have to be on 16” centers.
120 volt 15 amp power receptacle should be in reach of vacuums electrical cord.
NOTE: if the studs are on 24 centers, ask the carpenter to install another stud.
First step:
Second step: Dry-wall is installed, center of frame is removed
1) Take the front door off the power unit. You see 4 screw heads in the corners with clamp
blocks outside the housing, behind the screws.
2) Find the low voltage wires inside the wall. Connect them to the yellow wires in the back of
the vacuum, see to it that the yellow wires stay in the groove. Clamp them into the 2 small
wire holder on the top back side, to the right. This prevents the wires from falling behind the
Vacuum.
Please note: there is only a 1/16” space between the back drywall and the back of the vacuum.
3) Slide the vacuum parallel into the frame opening.
4) Tighten the 4 screws, they will clamp around the back side of the frame.
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. .
5) Isert the flanged black fitting with the O-ring, apply lubricant, such as Vaseline, around the
o-ring, and insert with the o-ring first, into the hole towards the pipe system.
Please note: you might have to jiggle the fitting a little to center the reducer/pipe in the wall.
6) Attach the fitting with the 4 #8 screws.
7) Install the dust bag. See picture #
Your installation is completed, plug in the electric cord. With the door attached and the
test the vacuum with the power switch on the lower right side.

NOTE: 24”if the studs are on centers, ask the carpenter to install another stud.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS:
This appliance must be connected to a grounded metal, permanent wiring system; or an
equipment-grounding conductor must be run with the circuit conductors and connected
to the equipment-grounding terminal or lead on the appliance.
Disconnect all electrical power to the wall area before installing!
Install a UL approved junction box close to the bottom of the vacuum
against a stud for the Romex cable coming from the 120 volt 15 amp
circuit breaker.
NOTE: the Romex cable coming out of the vacuum wil be about 2 feet long,
so the cable can reach the junction box.
WARNING:
An electrician must install the Romex Cable:
1) Use the large mounting frame, and slide it between the 2 studs. Adjust height position to access
the vacuum comfortable.
2) Use the supplied 8 fasteners to attach the frame in place.
3) Place the white pipe reducer (supplied) on top of the frame into the center cavity.
4) Connect your in-wall pipes to the reducer. The reducer has to stand on the bottom of the cavity
when glued to the pipe.
5) Stretch pipe systems low voltage wires to about the center of the frame. Curl them up or tape
them to a stud so that the dry-wall installer does not cut the wires with his cutting tool when he
removes dry-wall from the center of the frame.

1) Remove the front cover of the power unit. There will be 4 screw heads in the corners with clamp
blocks outside the housing, behind the screws.
2) Locate the low voltage wires inside the wall. Connect them to the yellow wires in the back of
the vacuum, be sure that the . Clamp them into the 2 small
wire holder on the top back side, to the right. This prevents the wires from falling behind the
vacuum.

3) Turn off the power supply at the circuit breaker
4) Install the 14 gage Romex cable coming out of the vacuum into the electrical junction box inside the wall.
5) Carefully slide the vacuum, with the Romex first, into the frame opening, pushing the Romex cable
downwards into the junction box. Then parallel to the wall slide the vacuum into the frame.
6) Tighten the 4 screws in the vacuum chamber. They will clamp around the back side of the frame.
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. You can bend the screws, when over tighten.
7) Locate the flanged black fitting with the o-ring, apply lubricant, such as Vaseline, around the o-ring
and insert with the o-ring first into the hole towards the pipe system.

Your installation is completed. With the door attached and the utility valve open test the vacuum with the switch on
the lower right side. Take the vacuum hose and check all the valve in the house.

HOW TO OPERATE YOUR MODEL: IVD-660
PLEASE NOTE: NORMALLY A CENTRAL VACUUM CLEANER IS STARTED WITH THE VACUUM VALVES AROUND
THE HOUSE WALLS. WITH THE INTERVAC YOU CAN ALSO UTILIZE THE VALVE IN THE DOOR OF THE POWER
UNIT TO CLEAN YOUR GARAGE OR CAR USING THE on/off SWITCH.
1. Take the door off the vacuum cleaner, by pulling the arched handle on top of the door towards you.
2. ull the front collar holder Pull the top collar down from the pipe and remove dust
bag form the collar holder.
3. Discard full bag
4. Now slide the green front collar of a new bag into the holder all the way into the groove. See Pic:1.

5. With both hands behind the bag find the top collar. In an angle slide the collar onto the small ledge in
the back behind the pipe. See arrow in picture 2. Lift the front of the collar up,
push the collar up as high up as possible.
you can also reverse the installation of the dust bag, by attaching the top collar first on to the pipe and then
insert the front collar with holder.
6. The last thing to do, please push the front collar up so it is in the center of the holder. Pic 4

This appliance is equipped with an automatic-reset thermal protector to protect the motor
from overheating due to a blockage in the vacuum tools or hose. In the event the thermal
protector operates due to the motor overheating, do the following. Turn off the unit and
unplug it from the wall (required to reset the thermal protector). Inspect and remove any
blockage. Allow the appliance to cool down, then plug the appliance back in and resume
using.

1. Take the door and open up the cover for the valve opening.
2. Lift the door parallel with the front of the vacuum. Align the hole in the door with
the hole in the bag collar.
You have to look through the valve hole and push door in position.
3. Before closing door, tuck in the sides of the bag, so the door can properly seal.

2. Reach into the bottom of the vacuum chamber and pull the motor filter out.
The new filter has to be inserted with the ½” cutout into the same area,
