The Water Pathway inside the ION is sealed
and pressurized.
Tap Water Supply Tubing connects directly at the
rear of the appliance to an Inlet Valve.
After the Inlet Valve, the water is directed to the Manifold
Flow Meter Assembly, the Filter, and an internal pump (if
installed).
After being filtered, the water is either chilled inside the
Water Coil or Carbonation Tank, or bypasses to Ambient or
Hot Water Tubing.
Water is then directed to Dispensing Valves at the outlet of
the appliance for Cold, Ambient, Sparkling and Hot Water.
KEY LEARNING: Pressing the Cold, Ambient, or Hot
dispense button on the Touch Screen opens both the Inlet
Valve and one of the Dispensing Valves. TWO Valves open
and TWO Valves close, in quick succession. Dispensing
Sparkling water opens the Dispense Valve only; the Inlet Valve
opens when the Carbonation Tank refills.
TRANSPORTATION: In temperatures below
freezing, Filter and water must be removed from
appliance before transporting (See pages 30).

Tubing from Ambient pathway travels to Hot Water Valve,
attached to Hot Tank.
Hot Water Tank is not pressurized, but extremely dangerous
to service when filled with Hot Water. To cool, turn Hot
Switch at rear of appliance to OFF. Then dispense water
from faucet using Hot Dispense button on Touch Screen until
water is cool. Then, water can be drained from Hot Tank by
removing drain plug located behind CO2 access door.
TRANSPORTATION: It is recommended to empty the
Hot Tank before transport, especially in temperatures below
freezing. The only outlet for water is through the Faucet or
the Drain Plug. The Hot Tank contains about 3lb (1.3kg) of
water and should also be emptied to make the appliance
lighter to carry. (See Page 30.)

setup, such as moving the unit from one install location to another.
Factory Reset clears the following user settings:
• Language Selection (initial set up will require selection)
• SleepMode Settings (returns to default OFF)
• Temperature Settings (returns to defaults 183°F (84°C),
35°F (2°C), 31°F (-0.6°C)
• System Options (returns to defaults Errors ON, Booster Pump
OFF)
• Average Flow Rates (reset to 0)
• Bottles Saved Counter (reset to 0)
• Passcode Setting (returns to default OFF)
Factory Reset does NOT clear:
• Product Model
• Product Serial Number
• Product Software Version
• Service Contact Information (if updated via USB)
• Alternating Image (if updated via USB)
• Error Log
• Last Filter Change Date

Service Details
This screen provides useful diagnostic information including real time Hot Tank and Ice Tank
Temperature readings, 24 hour flow rate averages for various water types, and a record of the
last three (3) shutdown errors with date of occurrence.
System Options
The ION allows a certain degree of customization to give the end user or technician the best
possible experience.
For example:
• Fan Failure and Ice Tank Over-Temperature errors can be disabled in high ambient
temperature environments (such as factories) or high-usage environments
• The Drip Tray/Drain Level Full Message can be disabled if not desired
• Models equipped with a Booster Pump (300 & 400 models by default, 100 & 200 models
if add-on option installed) can activate pump for all dispense types in low-flow situations
• Measurements can be displayed in either US or Metric units. During initial setup, choosing
“English” will default the selection to “US” and choosing Spanish, French, or German will
default the selection to “Metric”
