The identifying sticker label on the back of the phone is removed or tampered with, or serviced
by a non-authorized party.
The defect is not caused by workmanship or bymanufacturing process.
The phone is not operated as outlined in the user
’ s manual.
A sales receipt or proof of purchase is not available.
Damages are due to natural disaster or other factors such as lightning, over-voltage, excess
humidity or fire.

To achieve optimum digital sound quality, the IP-700m integrates the latest technology in echo

IPFones and Skype, empowering consumers with three different ways to send/receive calls any
where in the world. Please see the following diagram:
IP-700m to IP-700m Calls: Unlimited calls to anyone, anywhere in the world forever
free. No setup fees, no monthly fees, no deposits, no annual contracts.
IP-700m to Regular/Cellular Phones: Through SkypeOut service, you can call to
any regular or cellular phone throughout the world. These calls are not free but very
inexpensive. Most country rates start around $0.02/minute. Rates are subject to
change. See Appendix A or visit www.skype.com for country rates and additional
details.
Regular/Cellular phones to IP-700m: Through SkypeIn service, people can make
calls to your IP-700m using regular or cellular phones from anywhere. With SkypeIn
service, you would get your own regular phone number from Skype so others can
simply dial that number to talk to you from any phone. The call is free no matter
where you are in the world. This call is also free to the calling party if the call is
originated from the same area code as your regular number. See Appendix A or visit
www.skype.com for additional details.
Additional Services - Skype voicemail: will take messages for you when you are online or

3 Installation
Step 1: Install Skype software, create a Skype User ID, and add names of people you
want to call to your contact list.
Step 2: Install IPFones software.
Step 3: Connect the IP-700m to your computer USB port and start calling family, friends,
and colleagues.
Detail information for each step is described below.
3.1 Installing Skype Software
Load the IPFones CD into your computer CD-ROM drive and wait for the installation program to
be launched (automatically). The following screen will display.
To start the install, select English or French by double click on the red bullet next to the
language. The following screen will display.

Click on the “INSTALL SKYPE” button to begin the installation of Skype software.
Select English language or your language of choice and click the Next button.

Read the license agreement, check the “I accept the terms in the license agreement” and click
the Next button.

Click the Next button.
Congratulations, you have successfully installed Skype software. Click the Finish button to
configure your Skype installation.

If you are a new user to Skype, fill in the above screen and click the Next button. For existing
users, select the “Existing Users…” tab and login to Skype to continue.

All fields are optional. When the above screen is displayed, you can enter optional information
then click the Update button.
In most cases, you will see two Skype windows displayed. At this point, you have successfully
created a Skype user name for yourself to join in the Skype community of more than 200
millions users world wide (and growing). You will now add your friends’ Skype user-name(s) to
your contact list. To do this, just close the “Getting Started Wizard” by clicking the “Close
Wizard for Now” button. On your main Skype window, click the green button, the following
window will display.

If you know the Skype User Name of your friends or colleagues, enter their Skype user name in
the above window and press the Next button.
Click OK to continue.
Congratulations, you have successfully added a Skype user to your contact list. Press Next to
add more users or Finish to end.

Installation Notes:
1. If IPFones software is previously installed on your PC, you may see additional windows
asking for “Allow this program to use Skype” or “Do not allow this program to use Skype”.
When these additional windows are displayed, please always choose the “Allow this
program to use Skype” and click OK.
2. Depending on your firewall configuration, another window may be displayed by your firewall
and ask you to allow or not allow Skype (or IPFones) software to get access to your PC.
When you see these windows, always allow Skype or IPFones software access.
The following picture is an example of Skype window asking user to allow or do not allow
IPFones.exe software to use Skype.

3.2 Installing IPFones Software
To install IPFones software, return to the IPFones installation, and click on the “INSTALL
IPFONES” button.
Select English or your preferred language, then click the OK button.

3.3 Connect Your IP-700m to Your PC/Notebook
Connect your IP-700m to the USB port of your computer. Once connected to the USB port, the
phone’s LCD screen will display the month, day, year and time.

4 Using IP-700m and Skype
4.1 How to Make a Call
There are a few ways to call people:
•IP-700m to IP-700m
•IP-700m to regular/cellular phone
•Speed-Dial
4.1.1 Calling from IP-700m to IP-700m:
1. Pickup your IP-700m and press any button (except the hang up red button), the Skype
window will display.
2. Use the IN or OUT button to switch from tab to tab.
3. Switch to the Contact tab; use the Up and Down buttons to select the
contact you want to call.
4. Press the Send button and enjoy.
5. When finish, press the red End button to end the call.
4.1.2 Calling from IP-700m to regular/cellular phone
Prior to calling out to regular/cellular phone, you must activate SkypeOut service. To activate
SkypeOut, please visit www.Skype.com for details.
To call regular/cellular phone:
1. Press the In or Out button to switch to the Dial tab on the Skype window.
2. Enter the phone number you want to call. Since this is a world phone, please always
enter the international code “00”, the country code and area/city code. For the US, the
country code is “1” thus to call the number 714-555-1212, you need to enter
0017145551212 and press the green Send button.
(To delete and correct a number, press the Clear button.)
3. Soon the “714-555-1212” phone will ring. When the other party answers the phone,
just talk and enjoy a crystal clear sound.
4. When finish, press the red End button to hang up.

Note: IPFones and Skype is not a telephony replacement service and cannot be used for
emergency dialing.
4.1.3 Speed Dial
Assigning a speed dial number to a Skype username will allow you to initiate the call to a
person directly from the IP-700m using a speed dial number.
To assign a speed dial number, open your contact list on the Skype window, point to the
desired contact, then right mouse click on that contact and select “Assign Speed-Dial”. The
following window will display.
