Congratulations on your selection of an ITMCo product. We believe you have exercised ex-
cellent judgment in the purchase of your ITMCo farm tractor. We are most appreciative of your
patronage.
The present manual (Operator Instruction Book) has been compiled by Iran Tractor Manufac-
turing Company (ITMCo) and has been intended for tractor owners and drivers operating ITM 950
tractors. It supplies in detail the most essential information about your farm tractor. This manual
must always be kept with the tractor and it must be made available for the operator of the tractor
at all times. Before using the tractor please READ this manual carefully and LEARN how to use it
correctly and safely as your safety is of primary concern to the manufacturer. If you decide to sell
your machine, make sure to pass this manual to the next owner.
Your dealer will be happy to acquaint you with the operation and maintenance instructions
given in this manual, and to instruct you in the proper and varied applications of this machine and
assist you in resolving your problems in the cases that you strike a problem not covered by this
manual. Call on him at any time when you have a question, or need equipment for the use of your
tractor.
All information, illustrations and specifications in this manual are based on the latest infor-
mation available at the time of publication. The right is reserved to make changes at any time
without notice without incurring any obligation to make such changes to products manufactured
previously. ITMCo accept no responsibility of changes which may be evident in the actual specifi-
cations of its products and descriptions contained in this publication.
The tractor at your possession is designed to function properly solely under normal conditions
in agricultural operations (“intended purpose”). However, its use in any other way is considered
as contrary to the intended purpose and of detrimental effects to the tractor. In other words, if
the tractor is used under abnormal conditions (e.g. deep water or paddy fields) ITMCo shall refuse
to accept any liability for any damage or injury resulting from misuse and these risks must be
avoided by the user.

Extensive damage may occur as a re-
sult of fitment of inferior parts only from
an authorized ITMCo dealer.
WARNING
In some of the illustrations used in
this Operator Instruction Book, panels
or guards may have been removed for
clarity. Never operate the tractor with-
out these components in position. If the
removal of panels or guards is necessary
to make a repair, they MUST be replaced
before operation.
Due to wide variations in operating
conditions it is impossible for the com-
pany to make comprehensive or definitive
statements in its publications regarding
performance or metodes of use of its ma-
chines or to accept liability for any loss
or damage which may result from these
statements or from any errors or omis-
sions.
If the tractor is to be used or abnor-
mal conditions which may be detrimental,

NOTE
This book is published for world-wide
distribution, and the availability of equip-
ment shown either as basic or accessory

tails of equipment available in your area
can be obtained from your ITMCo Dealer.
The purpose of this book is to enable
the owner and driver to operate the tractor
in a safe manner. Providing that the in-
structions are followed carefully the trac-
tor will give years of service in the tradi-
tion of ITMCo.
The installation of the product by the
Dealer gives the opportunity to ensure
that these operating and maintenance
instructions are understood. Always con-
sult yuor Dealer if you do not understand
any part of this book. It is important that
these instructions are understood and ob-
served. Daily maintenance should become
a routine and a record of hours in service
should be kept.
When replacement parts are required it
is important that only genuine ITMCo. ser-
(deep water or paddy fields) consult your
ITMCo Dealer for special instructions, or
the warranty may be invalidated. These
tractors are designed solely for use in
customary agricultural operations (intend-
ed use).
Use in any other way is considered as
contrary to intended use. ITMCo accepts
no liability for any damage or resulting
from misuse and these risks must be born
solely by the user. Compliance with and
strict adherence to the conditions of op-
eration service and repair as specified by
ITMCo also constitute essential elements
for the intended use.
These tractors should be operated,
serviced and repaired only by persons fa-
miliar with all its particular characteris-
tics and aquainted with the relevant safety
rules (accident prevention).
Customers are strongly advised to
use an official ITMCo Dealer in connec-
tion with any service problems and adjust-
ments that may occur. The ITMCo Dealer
network is specially trained and equipped
for all service work and to advise custom-
ers on the application of the tractor in lo-
cal conditions.

Warranty, pre-delivery & installa-
tion
The Company, when selling new goods
to its Dealers, gives a warranty which,
subject to certain conditions, guarantees
that the goods are free from defects in
material and workmanship. Since this
book is published for world-wide circula-
tion, it is impossible to detail the exact
terms and conditions of warranty that ap-
ply to a retail customer in any particular
country. Purchasers of new ITMCo equip-
ment should request full details from their
supplying Dealer.
In accordance with the Company’s
policy of continuous improvement to its
machines, alterations, in the specifica-
tions of machines may be made at any
time without notice. The Company accepts
no responsibility for discrepancies which
may occur between the specifications of
its machines and the descriptions thereof
contained in its publications.
A Dealer is required to carry out cer-
tain activities when supplying a new ITM-
Co tractor. These consist of a full pre-de-
livery inspection to ensure that the tractor
supplied is ready for immediate use and
full instruction in the basic principles of
operation and maintenance of the tractor.
These instructions will cover instruments
and controls, routine maintenance and
safety precautions. All persons who will be
concerned with the operation and mainte-
nance of the machine should be present
for these instructions.
NOTE
ITMCo will not accept responsibility
for any claim resulting from the fitment
of non-approved parts or attachments, or
unauthorized modification or alteration.
Before delivering tractors to the cus-
tomers, ITMCO guarantees that all parts of
a tractor have been controlled and checked
in certain conditions during production
and assembling and these parts are free
of any defect. ITMCO accepts and guaran-
tees delivery for replacement of defected
parts for one year or 1000 hours of usage
after delivering only when a tractor is used
for agricultural purposes and this period
is six month when a tractor is used for
industrial purposes.
NOTE
Warranty and guarantee are discred-
ited under the following conditions:
1. When the early services are not done
on time.
2. When replacing any part, non-standard
and non-approved parts are used; and
due to usage of these parts, other
components are also damaged.
3. When damages are caused due to in-
correct operation of a tractor.
4. When damages are caused due to the
adjustment and repair by unauthorised
service stations.
Warranty information
Warranty period:
Agricultural tractors have one year or
1000 hours of usage (one of them which
reaches to this limit faster) warranty im-
mediately after delivering product to cus-
tomer (invoice date) conditionally not us-
age change implemented (attaching front
loader or backhoe loader).
Industrial tractors without loader have
a 6 month warranty period from delivering

date (invoice date).
Free of charge services during war-
ranty period:
1- Pre-delivering inspection or PDI in dis-
tributer or dealer place.
2- Primary service or 50 hours of working
operation in tractor working place.
3- Secondary service or 250 hours of op-
eration in tractor working place.
Comment:
All mentioned services are free of
charge and no charge will be cost for
customer, but customer or owner have to
inform distributer or dealer when tractor
reaches to mentioned usage, otherwise the
responsibility of upcoming subsequences
and damages will be with the owner and no
warranty will be included any more.
Training:
When delivering tractor, owner will be
trained primary repair and maintenance
courses. These courses will be hold by
distributer or dealer.
Warranty discreditation condition:
- Any incorrect use of tractor (overload,
inappropriate maintenance condition,
continuous and numerous starts).
- Any repairmen and adjusting by unau-
thorized service station other than ac-
credited distributers.
- Electrical and consuming instruments.
- Change of usage (installation of front
loader and backhoe loader)
- Normal deterioration of parts.
- End of warranty period.
- Crashes, firing and natural disasters
and any damage by any external factor.

available from your Dealer in the event of
loss or damage. The actual location of
these Safety Decals is illustrated at the
end of this section.
Safety notes
The safety of the operator in designing
and developing a new tractor. Designers
build in as many safety features as pos-
sible. However, every year many accident
occur which could have been avoided by
a few seconds thought and a more car-
ful approach to handling farm machinery
Implements. You, the operator can avoid
many accidents by observing the following
instructions.
General safety rules
Always keep the Operator Instruction
Book with the tractor. This book must be
made available to the operator of the trac-
tor at all times. Read the book carefully
and learn how to use the machine cor-
rectly and safely.
Do not let anyone operate this machine
without thorough instruction.
Beware of bystanders, particularly
CAUTION
The symbol and the word CAUTION is
used to indicate a potentially hazardous
situation that, if not avoided, may result
in MINOR OR MODERATE INJURY.
IMPORTANT
The word IMPORTANT is used to iden-
tify special instructions or procedures
which, if not strictly observed, could re-
sult in damage to, or destruction of the
machine, process or its surroundings.
NOTE
The word NOTE is used to indicate
points of particular interest for more ef-
ficient and convenient repair or operation.

Warning, Caution or Instruction Decals.
Replace any Danger, Warning, Caution
or Instruction Decals that are not readable

Whenever you see the words and sym-
bol shown below, used in this book and
on decals, you MUST take note of their
instructions.
DANGER
The symbol and the word DANGER
indicates an imminently hazardous
situation which, if not avoided, will result
in DEATH OR VERY SERIOUS INJURY.
WARNING
The symbol and the word WARNING
indicates a potentially hazardous situation.
If the instructions or procedures are
not correctly followed it could result in
PERSONAL INJURY, OR LOSS OF LIFE.

exposure to noise may damage the hear-
ing. It is recommended that a suitable pro-
tective ear defender is worn on tractors
without a cab fitted.

Specific safety equipment may be re-
fire and first aid equipment.
Fire kit and First Aid
A fire extinguisher and first aid box
should be carried with the tractor. These
should be available through your ITMCO
Dealer.

Protective Clothing
DO NOT wear loose clothing. This may
catch on moving parts of the tractor or
implement causing injury. Wear protective
clothing and safety equipment. Prolonged
children.

Always look around to make sure that
it is safe to move the tractor or start the
engine. This is particularly important with
“Quiet Cabs” since you may not hear peo-
ple shouting outside if equiped.
If you have bought this tractor second-
hand check that all the safety decals are in
place, if not purchase replacements from
your local ITMCO Dealer (See pages 17 and
18). Safety equipment is also available for
example. Safety frames, back-up alarms,

Using the tractor on a public highway
When driving the tractor and imple-
ment on the road or highway under 40 km/
hr (25 mph). Whether at night or during
the day ,use accessory lights and Slow
Moving Vehicle (SMV) identification em-
blem. The use of flashing amber lights
is acceptable in most localities However.
some localities prohibit their use. Local
laws should be checked for all highway
lighting and marking requirements. Use
the safety chain. Refer to the Implement
Operator Instruction Book.

sory. In cases of tractors being fitted with
glow plugs or thermostart, these must
be removed prior to the installation of an
ether start-aid (Fig. 13).

Passenger
DO NOT carry passengers anywhere on
the tractor or inside the cab, unless the
tractor is fitted with an authorized pas-
senger seat. Where regulations permit,
passengers must only be carried if the
tractor is fitted with an approved ITMCO
passenger seat.

tions given by the chemical supplier and
manufacturer.
Starting Fluid
WARNING
DO NOT use aerosol cans of starting
aid on tractors with the thermostart
connected to the electrical system. Ether
combined with thermostart can cause
an explosion with damage to engine,
personal injury, or both.
Your tractor has been fitted with a
thermostart cold starting device. If aero-
sol cans of starting fluid, or ether start-
aid, are to be used the thermostart must
be disconnected. Remove the wire from
the thermostart unit which will be found
on the induction manifold. Tape the end
of the wire to prevent an electrical short
circuit.
Handle starting fluid as directed by the
manufacturer. Starting fluid must only be
used when an ether-start aid is fitted as
original equipment by the manufacturer or

Fluids
All fluids should be handled with care.
If you swallow or are injured by any fluid
seek medical attention immediately and
show the label on the product. Fluids
escaping from a very small hole can be
almost invisible; they can penetrate the
skin causing serious injury. Keep hands
and body away from pin holes and noz-
zles which eject fluids under high pres-
sure. When checking for leaks always use
a piece of cardboard or wood, never use
your hands to find a pressure leak. If ANY
fluid is injected into the skin, it must be
attended to by a doctor immediately.

Hydraulic connections
Ensure that all hydraulic connections

lations when driving on public roads.
Handle fuel safely
Diesel fuel is flammable and must be
handled with care.
Never refuel or service the fuel system
on the tractor while smoking or when near
open flames or sparks.
Never refuel the tractor while the en-
gine is running.
DO NOT use cans unless necessary.
Always clean up any spilled fuel.

All other territories
Operators should familiarise them-
selves with the local Road Traffic Leg-
islation and regulations and ensure that
when taking the tractor and attachments
upon the highway, they comply with the
statutory requirements. Always remember
to observe the restrictions on the use of
vehicles carrying projecting loads or ap-
pliances. Ensure that lights and reflectors
are not obscured before entering the pub-
lic highway.

Road safety
On public roads, use the SMV (slow

are tight. Relieve all pressures before dis-
connecting hoses or lines. Escaping oil
under pressure can cause serious injury.
Battery
WARNING
The battery contains a sulphuric acid
electrolyte which is a corrosive substance
and must be treated with great care:
1. Corrosive substance.
2. Irritating to eyes and skin.
3 Keep out of the reach of children.
4. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
5. Wear suitable protective clothing,
gloves and eye protection.
6. In case of contact with eyes rinse
immediately with plenty of water and
seek medical attention.
7. When charging the battery, charge in
a well ventilated place and ALWAYS
switch off at the mains before dis-
connecting the terminals.
8. If swallowed seek medical advice im-
mediately and show label.
9. Do not use a naked flame to check the
electrolyte level; always use a voltme-
Roll-over protective structure (ROPS)
DO NOT weld, drill or alter ROPS safety
structure, whether supplied or locally fit-
ted. Damaged ROPS must not be straight-
ened or used. If damage does occur, con-
sult ITMCO Dealer.
If ROPS is removed from the tractor,
or folded down, for a specific operation, it
must be refitted or erected immediately.
IMPORTANT! When refitting, the original
mounting bolts must be used and tight-
ened to the correct torque.

Implements or attachments
When implements or attachments are

starting the tractor engine with a slave
battery.

When making repairs or adjustments it
is recommended that you consult ITMCO
Dealer, and have the work carried out by
trained personnel.

WARNING
DO NOT use the tractor hydraulics
as a jack or hoist when working on the
tractor or an implement.
Safety before operating
Caution & warning decals
Read and understand all warning de-
cals. The position of all decals is shown
on pages 16 and 17.
It is good practice to re-read these
safety notes and all cautions and warn-
ing decals regularly. Careful operation can
avoid accidents.
A defective tractor can injure you and
others. Do not operate a tractor which is
detective or has missing parts. Make sure
that the maintenance procedures in this
operator’s book are completed before us-
ing the tractor.
DO NOT leave the tractor unattended
with the engine running.
Service the tractor in safety
DO NOT service the tractor while the
engine is running or hot, or if the tractor
in motion.
Before making adjustments or servic-
ing the electrical system, disconnect the
used with the tractor, always follow the
safety precautions listed in the appropri-
ate operating instructions. When raising a
heavy object using a loader, always secure
the object carefully to avoid it’s falling or
causing injury to a bystander.
Seat belt
If either ROPS or a cab is fitted to the
tractor it is recommended that a seat belt
is fitted also and used correctly adjusted,
at all times. This equipment is available
through ITMCO Dealer. DO NOT use a seat
belt if operating without ROPS or a Cab.

1. Always use a safety cage if available.
2. Do not stand over the tyre.
3. Use a clip-on chuck and extension hose
when inflating a tyre.

Ballast
Steering and braking performance can
while the engine is running.
Before removing the radiator cap, turn
the cap slowly to relieve the pressure.
Service tyres safely
WARNING
Failure to follow the correct procedure
when fitting a tyre on a wheel or rim can
produce an explosion which may result in
serious injury or death.
Do not attempt to fit a tyre unless you
have the proper equipment and experience
to perform the job. Have the work carried
out by ITMCO Dealer or a qualified repair
service.
When sealing tyre beads onto rims,
never exceed 2.4 bar (35 lbf/in) or the
maximum inflation pressure specified by
the tyre manufacturer for fitting tyres.
Inflation beyond this maximum pres-
sure may break the bead , or even the rim,
with a dangerous explosive force. If both
beads are not seated when the maximum
recommended pressure is reached, deflate,
reposition the tyre, relubricate the bead,
and reinflate. Observe the following safety

supported on suitable blocks or stands,
NOT a hydraulic jack.
Check all nuts and bolts periodically
for tightness, especially wheel hub and
rim nuts.
Check the power steering reservoir (if
fitted) regularly and top-up as necessary
with an ITMCO approved fluid.
Check the brakes regularly, and ad-
just where necessary. Make sure that the
brakes are evenly adjusted, especially
when using a trailer.
Check the brake fluid reservoir and
top-up as necessary. If the fluid level con-
tinually falls report it to ITMCO Dealer im-
mediately so that the fault can be rectified
(see maintenance section).
Linkage
The top link must not be extended be-
yond the point where the threads begin to
show.
Radiator & cooling system
DO NOT remove the radiator cap when
the engine is running or hot.
DO NOT add coolant to the radiator

Safety — during operation
WARNING
DO NOT pull anything using the top
link connection, or from any point above
the centre line of the rear axle. Always
use an approved ITMCo. drawbar, and only
use a drawbar pin that locks in place.
WARNING
DO NOT get on or off a moving tractor.

the PTO shield (1) is in place and that the
PTO cap (2) is fitted when the PTO driveline
is not in use.
Safety — starting
WARNING
Before starting the engine, make
sure there is plenty of ventilation.
Never operate the engine in a closed
building. The exhaust fumes may cause
asphyxiation.
Always start the engine from the op-
erator’s seat with all the transmission le-
vers and the PTO lever in neutral.
WARNING
Never attempt to start the engine
while standing beside the tractor.
DO NOT bypass the safety start sys-
tem by shorting across the terminals of
the starter motor to start the engine. This
may cause the tractor to move suddenly. If
the starter switch does not work, consult
ITMCO Dealer.

tor is ballasted correctly. Advice can be
sought from ITMCO Dealer.
Power takeoff (P.T.0.)
Before attaching, detaching, cleaning
or adjusting PTO driven implements, dis-
engage the PTO, stop tree engine, remove
the key, and make sure that the PTO drive-
line has stopped.

It is a legal requirement that PTO
