
Use the On/Off and volume knob “I” to turn the radio on and adjust
the volume. Slide switch “G” is the radio band selector. Use the
tuning knob “ ” to select what you want to listen to.
One function is an alert of impending bad weather. Move the band
selector to “Alert” and set the volume. Select the NOAA channel using
the tuning knob “ ” to the station in your area based on the tuning
panel “A.” If a warning is issued, the radio will automatically turn on
so you can hear the warning. To listen to the NOAA station when
they are not in alert mode, slide the band select switch “G” to
“NOAA.”
This radio comes from the factory equipped with a lithium
rechargeable battery, shown above as item “T.” The battery is not
fully charged. To fully charge the battery, connect the radio's Micro
US port to a standard US device such as those used to charge
mobile devices. It is recommended to charge the battery for six hours
before an impending severe weather event when the loss of electrical
service is possible.
When the battery is being charged, a red LED, marked as item “J” will
illuminate. This light will also be visible when charging with the solar
panel, item “U” and while using the hand crank, item “O.”
Item “L” is a standard US power output port. Mobile devices can be
connected to this port. Moving the slide switch “E” to the right
activates this feature. The charging LED will illuminate in this mode
also. e aware that this feature may have a limited capability when
charging a mobile device, such as a smart-phone, which has a nearly
depleted battery.
The left position of switch “E” is an audible siren of considerable
intensity. This is a personal safety feature.
