Functions of the EMERGENCY stop button
The emergency stop is performed by
pressing the mushroom head emergency
button on the control panel (Fig. 5).
The button operates a safety circuit that
trips to stop all machine movements.
Periodic check procedures
In order to check correct operation of the
emergency circuits perform the following
procedure periodically:
1. Machine start-up.
2. Emergency stop.
3. Emergency stop button reset.
4. Machine restart using the appropriate controls.
In the case of a fault on the emergency circuit it will no longer be possible to
restart the machine.
The maintenance electrician must therefore perform troubleshooting on the
components to identify the type of fault.
NOTE
To reset the emergency stop function, turn the button mushroom head in the direction of the
arrow marked on it and restore the safety conditions necessary to resume the production
cycle.

SAFETY
CAUTION
If pressing the emergency button fails to stop the robot for any reason, it
can be stopped by pressing the ON/OFF button on the control panel and/or
switching off the machine by means of the key selector switch.
CAUTION
Check that the EMERGENCY stop button is working properly at the start of
each work shift!
CAUTION
The front part of the “LEONARDO” robot is sensitive to impact to ensure operating
safety and controls that stop the machine in the event of collision.
The machine will not stop immediately: the robot will cover a distance of
approximately 200 mm due to inertia.
