1) A micro USB for power supply and export of data
via a PC.
2)AstandardUSBinputforexportingdatafromthe
internallogmemoryviatheUSB,andforoffline
configuration.
Check the box contents:
1. Noise Guide
2. USB-keywithsoftware
3. PoweradaptorwithEU,USogUKplugs.
4. USBadaptercable(A-plugtomicro-B)

HOW DOES NOISE GUIDE WORK?
NoiseGuideprovidesyouwith2typesofmeasurements,
simultaneously.
The ear symbol indicates the state of the current noise level
whiletheLEDpanelatthebottomofthedeviceindicatesthe
averagenoiseleveloverthepast15minutes.
Microphone
TheEarsymbolindicatesthecurrentnoiselevel.
The LED panel indicates the average noise level
overthepast15minutes.

SET TIME
Noise Guide has a built-in time and date function that will set automatically
the first time you connect the device to your PC.
FORMATTINGTHEUSB-KEY

The USB key included is formatted in the format called
”FAT32”.
Readmoreaboutthe functionalityofthe USB-keyin the
chapter ”Software Setup” under ”Export setup to USB” on
p. 9.
PLEASE NOTE! Remembertoexportanyfilesyoumayhave
onyourUSBkeybeforeformatting,astheformattingwill
overrideanyexistingfiles.
1. ConnecttheUSBkeytoyourPC.
2. Right-clickontheUSB-drive.
3. Select”Format”fromthedrop-downmenu.
4. Select“Fat32”underFileSystem.
5. Checkthebox“Expressformatting”
6. Click“Start”
7. TheUSBkeyisnowreadyforuse.

There are 2 ways of saving your configurations:
1. ConnectthedevicedirectlytoyourPCwhileperformingtheconfiguration.
2. UploadingyourconfigurationtotheUSB-key.
1. DIRECT CONFIGURATION:
ConnectthedevicedirectlytoyourPC.Click”Configure”everytimeyouhavechangedsettings.Thisway,yourset-
tingswillbesaveddirectlyonthedevice.
2. EXPORT SETUP TO USB:
ExportingtheconfigurationtotheUSB-keyisusefulifyouneedtoapplythesamesettingstomultipledevices.
SOFTWARE SETUP
SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
Please find the software on the included USB key.
Whenyouhaveinstalledthesoftware,makesuretocheckforsoftwareupdatestoensurethatyouarealwaysupdated
withthelatestversion.Readmoreaboutthisinthechapter”AboutNoiseGuide”p.16.
CONFIGURATION
1. InserttheincludedUSB-key.
2. Chooseyoursettings.
3. Click "Export Setup to USB".
4. SaveyoursettingstotheUSB-keyandclick”OK”.
5. Thepop-upwindowconfirmsthatyouhavesavedyour
configurationsuccessfully.
6. ConnectthedevicetoapowersourceandinserttheUSB-key.TheEarsymbolwilllightgreenforapprox.5
secondstoindicatethatyourconfigurationhasbeenexportedsuccessfully.

CHECK FOR FIRMWARE UPDATE
Under”DeviceInformation”youcanalsocheckfor
firmwareupdatesfortheNoiseGuidedevice.
1. ConnectNoiseGuidetoyourPC.Makesurethatyour
PC is connected to the internet.
2. Clickon”Checkforfirmwareupdates”.
3. Ifthereisanewversionavailable,thisboxwillappear.
Click on ”OK” to update to the latest version of the
firmware.
4. Thefirmwareisbeingupdated.
5. RestarttheNoiseGuidewhentheupdateiscomplete.

Under "Light Settings" you can adjust the settings for the alarm levels. Here is an example:

andtypeofalarm:

• Flashing2sec.
LEQ 15/ 30/ 60
Bydefault,thelightpanelatthe
bottomofthedevicewillindicate
the average noise level over the past
15minutes.
In”LightSettings”youcansetthe
light panel to show the average noise
levelforthethepast15,30or60
minutes.
In ”Light Settings” you have the op-
tion of switching off the light alarm
for a certain duration of time.
• Checkthebox”Lightoff”.
• Selectatimeperiodforthelights
tobeswitchedoff.
Please note! Theinternalmemory
will continue to log data disregarded
that the lights are swithced off.
PLEASE NOTE!IfyourNoiseGuideisconnecteddirectlytoyourPC,remembertosaveyoursettingsbyclickingon
”Configure”.Click”ExporttoUSB”ifyouareperforminganofflineconfiguration.

versionsofbothsoftware(foryourPC)andfirmware(for
the Noise Guide device).

MEASUREMENT DATA
LIVE MEASUREMENT
YoucanviewlivemeasurementsinthesoftwarebyconnectingyourNoiseGuidedirectlytoyourPC.
Alldatawillbesavedautomaticallytothe”NoiseGuideData”folderontheC-driveevery24hours.
CHART
Under”LiveMeasurement”,selectthelefttab”Chart”toviewlivemeasurementsinagraph.
Thegreen,yellowandredcolourblocksonthegraph
visualizethelightsettingsforyourNoiseGuide.
Thecolourblockswillchangeaccordingtoyourlight
settings.
Example:
Inthisexamplethesettingsare:
Red:65dB-120dB
Yellow:55dB–65dB
Green:30dB–55dB

Selectwhatvaluesyouwantthegraphtoshow.
In the bottom right corner a box shows the chart statistics
for the certain period.
VALUESEXPLAINED:
LAeq,1smin:Lowestnoisemeasurementforacertainperiod.
LAeq,1smax:Highestmeasurementforacertainperiod.
LAeg(average):Averagenoiselevelforacertainperiod.
LCpeakmax:Highestpeakmeasurementforacertainperiod.

NAVIGATING THE SOFTWARE
SHOW MARKER
The"Showmarker"functionallowsyoutoexaminethemeasurementsinacertainperiodoftime.Toselectaperiod
onthegraph,checkthebox"Showmarker".Aredandabluemarkerwillnowappear.
Move the markers bypullingthemfromsidetoside.Alternatively,you
canmovethemtoacertainpointbytypingthetimeinthewhitebox
atthetopofthemarker.Remembertoputacolonbetweenhoursand
minutes.
Inthebottomrightcorneryoucanviewthevaluesbetweentheleftand
rightmarker.
