INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
ROUGHING-IN REFERENCE
Important: If you are installing the convenient drain/overflow device (C945000) in the Delfino™and are
intending to use it as a drain and fill bath tub, please read this installation instruction carefully before
beginning rough-in. Also review page 4 of the DELFINO OWNER'S MANUAL.

limits of the hole required for a "sunken" installation.

The rim is not designed to support weight. If finish
materialisto overlap orcontactthe spa, theaddedweight
must be fully self-supporting.
The floor structure beneath the Delfino must be able to
supportatotalweightof1965lbs.(spa,water,andpeople).
Framing and Support
The drain/overflow for the Delfino extends below the
bottom of the unit. Note that this requires a cut-out in the
floor.
The base attached to the bottom of the spa must be
supported along its entire bottom surface. To ensure
proper drainage of the spa, it must be level. If the surface
of the spa location is not level, we recommend that a bed
ofmortar or plaster be appliedunderneath thebase at the
timeoffinalsettinginanamountsufficientonlytolevelthe

NORMALWATER LEVELOPERATION
The Delfino whirlpool system should be operated only
atthe waterlevel marked on the skimmer frame (page 11
of "Owner's Manual").
Operation of the unit with a lower water level will result
in water being sprayed around the top of the spa by the
whirlpool jets above the water level. Also, pump suction
will be interrupted, resulting in possible pump damage.
When the unit is being used for personal hygiene and
thewater level isabove the bottomofthe skimmer frame,
thefilter cartridge may readily becomeclogged withsoap
residue. To avoid the continual cleaning of the cartridge,
you may temporarily remove it, then replace it when the
spa has been drained and refilled with clean fresh water.

DRAIN ADJUSTMENT
The rotary drain/overflow kit must be assembled,
installed on the spa, water tested, and connected to the
sanitary system of the house. After opening the carton,
inspect for damage and verify that the kit is of the proper
finish. Notethatthewasteflange,strainer,overflowcover
and cover screws are packaged in a separate package
within the kit to protect the trim finish.
Follow the installation instructions provided with the
drain kit.
NOTE: Water-tightinstallationofthedrainistheinstaller's
responsibility. Anyoccurrenceofdrainleakageisexcluded
fromtheJacuzziWhirlpoolBathwarrantycoverageofthis
product.
SERVICE ACCESS
Forpartiallyorfullysunkeninstallation,allowforaccess
to service connections, electrical cabinet and operating
equipment. The recommended minimum dimensions for
service access to a sunken spa are shown in the "Service
Access" illustration at right.
Inallinstallations,provideadequateventilation(min.30
sq. in. opening) for cooling of the motor and sufficient air
supply for jets.
