2. IR Illuminators: Twin banks using 52 infrared LEDs that
illuminate the target area when camera functions at night.
3. Camera Lens: The camera lens has a 52 degree eld of

4. PIR Sensor: Passive Infrared motion detector. Senses
the presence of a moving object which triggers the camera to
take a photo or record a video.
5. Ambient Light Sensor: Detects surrounding light to
automatically control day and night camera functions. This
sensor also emits a red, blinking LED when the selector switch
is moved to SETUP. The LED will stop blinking within 10
seconds after the selector switch is moved from SETUP to ON
indicating the camera is operational and active.
6. Locking Latches (3 each): Secures the camera front

INITIAL SD CARD PROGRAMMING
We recommend an AT&T SIM card as their data package has
unlimited text and photo messaging for only $19.99 per month.
The camera was designed with this concept.
It does not matter which cellular company offers the best
coverage in your area. Verizon and Sprint network providers
use CDMA technology and the camera requires GSM
technology (AT&T or T-Mobile) to operate.
AT&T customer service representatives are not trained to
recognize a SIM card can function in a wireless camera. They
will debate this application is possible and deny such a plan
exists. Please take this manual to your local AT&T corporate
store and follow the steps on page 22 to successfully purchase
and replenish your AT&T SIM card.
1. Open the camera.
2. Insert an activated SIM card and formatted SD card into the
appropriate camera slots.
3. Move the selector switch from OFF to SETUP.
4. The screen will display Checking then Searching.
5. Press the MENU button during this connecting sequence.
GETTING STARTED

8
9. Open the SD card le and two folders should appear; DCIM
and GSMSETUP. Right-click on the GSMSETUP le and
choose “Extract All…”.
7. Press OK to SAVE the UOV Setup tool to the SD card. The
screen will revert back to the initial display.
8. Turn off the camera and eject the SD card. Insert it into a
computer SD card slot to program.
6. Using the arrow buttons, scroll right to the GSM tab. Then
scroll 2 clicks up until the Download Tool option is visible.

9
NOTE: Change the folder name by deleting GSMSETUP from
the text box. Only the drive letter of the SD card should remain
(see example below).
10. Click the “Extract” button.
11. The three items below should appear in the SD card le.
12. Double click on the “UOV Setup” le and the below screen
should appear.

10
• Send Mode
Instant: (Recommended) The camera sends a photo
immediately when it takes a photo. It will only send an SMS
text message of the sequence number when a video is taken
(Video: 3/99). The Max Num eld indicates the maximum
number of photos or texts allowed to be sent within 24 hours.
The camera resets to zero each night at 0000 hours.
Daily Report: Sends an SMS to tell how many photos and
videos were captured during the past 24 hours. In photo mode,
the SMS tells the accumulated picture quantity together with
the latest captured picture. In video mode, the SMS tells the
accumulated video quantity only.
Off: GSM function is de-activated. Photos and videos will not
be sent to a recipient but will be saved to the SD card.
• Send Via
MMS: (Recommended) The image will be sent by text
message. The image can be sent to a cell phone, email
account or both. When checked, a minimum of one phone
number and/or one email address needs to be entered as a
recipient depending on the Send To mode chosen.
GPRS: Allows the sending of pictures via Internet connection.
This requires a data plan on the SIM card account. The image
is sent to an email address only. When checked, a minimum of
one email address needs to be entered as a recipient. SMTP
parameters need to be set up by clicking Email Set.
• SMS Switch: The SMS Switch must be ON for the camera
to receive text commands from four listed phone numbers.

11
• Operator Parameter
Choose the country and GSM wireless carrier of the SIM card.
Custom must be selected if an AT&T or T-Mobile SIM card is
NOT used. Click Custom and manually input the parameters
for the URL, APN, IP and Port according to the alternate
GSM service provider settings. AT&T or T-Mobile settings are
automatic. Users must contact their network service provider
for the required settings of all other GSM wireless carriers.
Verizon, Sprint and Virgin Mobile use CDMA technology and
will not operate in this camera.
• Send To
Phone: (Recommended) A text photo will arrive to a cell
phone much faster than an email will arrive to either a
cell phone or computer provided the cell phone has good
reception. A phone number must appear in Recipients.
Email: The image will be sent to email. An email address
must appear in Recipients.
Both: The image will be sent to both a cell phone and an
email address. A cell phone number and an email address
must appear in Recipients.
• Recipients
A maximum of 4 phone numbers and/or 4 email addresses
may be added in the Recipients eld.

not have time to send via SMS to your phone or email.

Note: Allow approximately 10-20 seconds for the camera
to acquire a cellular signal. If “LOGIN FAIL” appears on
the display, move the selector switch OFF and repeat
steps. The 5 db booster antenna (accessory) is necessary
for cellular operation in low signal areas.
5. The camera has successfully acquired a cellular signal
when six numbers or the service provider’s initials appear on
the display. Failure to connect will prevent the camera from
sending texts and photos via MMS.
6. Place the camera at the target area at least ve feet above
ground level using a T-Post and T-Post Camera Mount. This
will ensure the camera has the correct angle to trigger the PIR
motion sensor and IR illuminators are above the target area.
7. Slide the selector switch from SETUP to ON. Close and
latch the camera within ten seconds before the Ambient Light
Sensor LED stops blinking red and the PIR triggers a photo.
8. Ensure the camera takes a photo to verify it is positioned
and programmed correctly. The camera will take photos or
videos based on the MENU selections. The M.I.N.E.™ Cam is
now operational and active.
NOTE: If the Ambient Light Sensor LED does not stop
blinking, the selector switch is still in the SETUP position.
The camera must be ON to function.

The M.I.N.E.™ Cam is able to receive text commands from four
phone numbers to perform various functions remotely. The SMS
Switch must be ON for the camera to receive these text commands.
The phone number in position one is the Commander and has the
ability to add/delete subordinate phone numbers and emails via text.
The Commander and all three subordinates have the ability to send
SMS commands to control the camera. The below text commands
must be sent to the camera’s SIM card phone number.
