CAMERA CHARACTERISTICS
This manual is intended to visually guide users through the individual steps to properly program, operate
and maintain the 4G GSM version of the JAGER PRO M.I.N.E.™ and JAGER PRO I.C.E.™ Cameras.
1. Antenna: Standard antenna shown receives
cell tower signals. Several high gain booster
antennae are available as an accessory for
operation in low signal areas.
2. IR Illuminator: 44 infrared LEDs that
illuminate the target area when camera
functions at night.
3. Camera Lens: The camera lens has a 52-
degree field of view with no magnification.
This enables users to observe a 20’ field of
view measured 15’ from the lens and a 32’
field of view when measured 21’ from the lens.
4. PIR Sensor: Passive Infrared motion detector.
Senses the presence of a moving object which
triggers the camera to take a photo or record a
video.
5. Ambient Light Sensor: Detects surrounding
light to automatically control day and night
camera functions. This sensor also emits a
red, blinking LED when the selector switch is
moved to SETUP. The LED will stop blinking
within 10 seconds after the selector switch is
moved from SETUP to ON indicating the
camera is operational and active.
6. Locking Latch: Secures the camera front
housing to the main body housing while
providing a waterproof seal to internal
components.

7
BOTTOM OF THE CAMERA FEATURES
1. DC Port Plug: Waterproof seal to protect internal components when external battery (optional
equipment) is not in use.
2. Mounting Port: 1/4 x 20 internal threads for securing camera to a variety of different type of
cameras mounts. Only thread external devices two complete rotations into the camera mounting
port then tighten using the mount’s adjusting nut. Forcing external threads to the bottom will
damage mounting port and camera housing. NB: There is also an additional mounting port on the
back of the camera.
INSIDE OF CAMERA FEATURES
1. Antenna Port: Attachment point to install various antennas depending on local cellular strength.
2. Display: 2” Screen to observe menus, photos and settings.

cable connection interface
to transfer information
between the camera and a
computer.
11. Del Button: Deletes
unwanted pictures,
numbers, and letters.
12. Playback Button: Allows
user to view pictures on SD
card.
13. Battery Polarity Symbols:
Located on the front of the
battery tray. Aids in 12 proper battery polarity and installation.
1. SIM Card Port: Slot for receiving a cellular
SIM card from GSM network providers
such as AT&T and T-Mobile.
2. SD Card Port: Slot for receiving an SD
card. The camera has no internal memory.
An SD card 32GB or less is required to
store photos.
Warning: Inserting the SIM card upside down or

card. Damage resulting from inserting the
card incorrectly is not covered under
warranty.
Warning: Inserting the SD card upside down or backwards could damage the camera or the SD Card.
Damage resulting from inserting the card incorrectly is not covered under warranty.

9
QUICK START PROGRAMMING
Begin programming the M.I.N.E.™or I.C.E.TM Camera for operation by removing the protective red or
yellow cap from the antenna jack and installing the standard antenna. Ensure the black rubber O-ring is
not removed from the antenna jack threads. Twist the antenna base snug but do not over tighten.
Warning: When installing the antenna, remove the red or yellow protective cap only and replace the
black waterproof seal if it comes off. Damage resulting from not having the O-ring seal present is
NOT covered under warranty.
Unlock the full-length locking latch to access the main body. Follow the battery polarity symbols located
on the front of the battery tray to properly install each of the 12 each. We only recommend AA Lithium
batteries or good quality rechargeable AAs for the best performance in the field. Alkaline batteries will not
operate high-tech equipment nearly as long. The camera will function in emergency situations using only
four AA batteries in the two left columns. For long-term deployment in the field we recommend either the
6-volt external power supply or the Camera Solar Power Kit.
Warning! Do not mix battery types! Damage to the camera can result and your warranty will be voided if
you mix battery types or the batteries leak acid inside the housing.
Insert an activated SIM card into the SIM card port with the notch located in the top right-hand corner. A
formatted class 10 SD card must be used for the camera to function. Move the selector switch from OFF
to SETUP.The camera will display a warning if no SIM card is present and will request that a SIM be
inserted, and the camera restarted.
The camera supports up to a 32 GB SD card. Ensuring that the SD card is not locked, insert it into the SD
card port until it clicks in position. Move the selector switch from OFF to SETUP. The screen will display
“Searching Network” at the bottom centre of the screen (as shown below). It usually takes 20 to 30
seconds for the camera to find the network when first switched on out of the box. SIM Network Carrier
(i.e. Telstra) will appear in the top centre of the screen after connecting to the network and the signal
strength symbol will appear in the top right (as shown below).

be sent and you will not receive images). The photo is
always saved on the SD card but may not have time to
send via MMS to your phone or email.
NB: If a queue has been created you will need to allow the
camera time to clear this queue without any additional
transmissions.

this may be a consideration for you.
h. Set “Photos – Auto Purge Days” to your desired value. This purges photos only from your

MANUALLY SENDING PHOTO (Test Photo)
Our 4G camera is designed to test program settings and SIM card service by manually sending a photo.
We recommend performing this action prior to going out on site or prior to leaving the trapping site, this
allows any issues to be identified whilst you are still in close range to the camera and the manual.
Move the selector switch from OFF to SETUP. Allow the camera 30 seconds to search the wireless 4G
network. Once registered the network carrier name (i.e. Telstra) will appear in the top centre of the LCD
screen. Pressing the OK button will immediately capture a photo and upload the image to the network by
following the camera program settings. The camera will ask if you would like to send the image, select
OK. The automatic commands displayed in the bottom centre of the LCD screen are first “Setting”, then
“Uploading”, then “Sending” followed by “Sent”. This process should take approximately 20 seconds to
upload and send the photo from the camera and another 10 seconds to receive the photo as an SMS text
to a programmed phone when the 4G signal is strong. You should see the notifications on the screen
(shown below) as the process is undertaken. If you have any issues or do not receive the image to the
selected phone, please see the troubleshooting FAQ’s for additional information.

18
SMS COMMAND CODES
The Switch must be in the ON position and the Realtime Setting must be on for the camera to receive text
commands and was previously covered under the WIRELESS menu tab. The M.I.N.E.™ Cam is able to
receive text commands from up to four phone numbers to perform 29 different functions remotely. All four
phone numbers have the ability to send and receive SMS commands to control the camera. We
recommend storing the camera SIM card numbers into your mobile phones by trap number and camera
type (i.e. Trap #1 MINE).
NOTE: Do not send commands back to the received photo or group, you must manually input the camera
as a mobile contact in your phone and send commands as a text message using one of the following
most commonly used codes:
•The code to check status is: *160#
•The code to Take a photo is: *500#
•The code to Close Gate is: *777# (this code will only work with a M.I.N.E.TM camera.)
To see further codes for adding phone numbers and changing sending options etc please go to page 28
for the full SMS COMMAND CODE LIST.
LOGIN FAIL CORRECTIVE ACTION
Users should always test their camera at a new location prior to erecting a feeder or a trap enclosure.
Move the selector switch from OFF to SETUP. The screen will display “Checking Network”. Allow
approximately 20 to 30 seconds for the camera to acquire a cellular signal. If the camera does not
automatically connect to the cellular network within 2 minutes, the standard antenna may not sufficient at
this location and the camera may be unable to send texts and photos via MMS or there might be issues
with the mobile network.
Please check either other devices on the same network in the same location to determine if there are
issues with the network. If there are no issues with the network, then our five-decibel booster antenna
mounted to a 4.5m telescoping antenna may be necessary for remote cellular operation in low signal
areas.
Remove the standard antenna. Carefully thread the booster antenna cable to the antenna port and
tighten. Slide the rubber waterproof boot over the booster antenna cable connector.
If there is no mobile coverage at the desired trapping location, then an alternate site might have to be
selected in order to use the JAGER PROTM Trapping Equipment

PAIRING M.I.N.E.™ CAMERA TRANSMITTER TO
CONTROL BOX RECEIVER
The most efficient way to pair M.I.N.E.™ Camera with control box receiver is to conduct these
steps before mounting the camera
THIS STEP IS ONLY A FUNCTION OF THE M.I.N.E.™ CAMERA.
THE I.C.E.™ CAMERA DOES NOT UTILISE AN INTERNAL TRANSMITTER.
The M.I.N.E.™ Camera has an internal transmitter on the circuit board and must be located within 45
meters of the M.I.N.E.™ Gate to operate correctly. Users must manually pair camera transmitter signal to
each control box receiver the first time they are linked together. It is not necessary to pair camera
transmitter to receiver more than one time unless it has been paired to another device.
Pairing Steps:
1. Press and release “frequency select” button (C) and red
light (B) will flash either three times or five times. Press
and release “frequency select” button (C) until red light
(B) only flashes three times.
2. Move camera selector switch from OFF to Setup.
3. Press and release “pair to transmitter” button (A) and red
light (B) will illuminate for 15 seconds. Users have only
15 seconds to complete step 4 once step 3 has been
initiated.
4. Press and release camera “left arrow” (E) then press and release camera “right arrow” (F) to
send a manual RF signal to control box receiver. RF Trigger will appear at bottom of camera
screen. Red receiver light (B) should flash five times then no longer illuminate.
5. Ensure M.I.N.E.™ Camera and receiver are paired. Press and release camera “left arrow” (E)
then press and release camera “right arrow” (F) button while observing green light (D) illuminates.
Test successful.
NOTE: This procedure will activate actuator and release gate.
CRUSH HAZARD: Stand clear of gate as it
could cause bodily harm! Ensure safety clip
is installed if gate is in the UP position.

CAMERA DEPLOYMENT
If utilising the Star Picket Mounts align the 1/4 by 20 threads of the Star Picket mounting bracket to the
camera mounting port. Thread the mounting bracket to firm, do not over tighten. Then tighten using the
adjusting nut. Forcing external threads to the bottom will damage the camera mounting port and the
camera housing.
Never mount the M.I.N.E.™ Cam on the same star picket securing a trap panel or severe damage may
result. Always mount the M.I.N.E.™ Cam on a separate 2.4-meter-long star picker post at least 30 to
60 centimetres outside the trap enclosure. Lower the Star Picket Mount over the star picket to the
desired height and tighten the grub screw with an Allen Key.
Users can receive a wider field of view by mounting the camera at a higher elevation. When mounting
the camera at a higher elevation method, it is easier to attach the booster antenna (if needed) to the
camera while on the ground. Remove the standard antenna from the camera’s antenna port. Carefully
thread the booster antenna cable to the antenna port and tighten. Slide the rubber waterproof boot over
the booster antenna cable connector.
If installing a booster antenna, install a star picket into the ground approximately 30 centimetres to the
right and rear of the camera. Secure the 2.4-meter-long star picket with camera to a telescoping pole
using zip ties. The higher camera elevation will allow the booster antenna to exceed 6 meters by
elevating and securing the telescoping pole to the star picket post with zip ties.
Standing on a step ladder, align the M.I.N.E.™ Cam by loosening the ball head set screw and centring
the camera’s view to the ground beneath the feeder legs. Tighten the ball head set screw to secure the
camera’s position. If using one camera, we recommend that the camera is angled across the front of the
trap. This allows those monitoring the trap to view the target animals both in the trap as well as those
remaining outside of the trap. If utilising two cameras set one camera up to view the front and outside the
trap gate and the second camera to show activity within the trap itself. Whilst the use of two cameras is
not completely necessary it does allow for a better view of the trap and the activity within and around the
trapping area.
Set up the M.I.N.E.TM camera by moving the selector switch from OFF to SETUP. The screen will display
“Searching Network”. The camera has successfully acquired a cellular signal when the service provider’s
name will appear on the display. Move the selector switch from SETUP to ON. Close and latch the
camera within 10 seconds before the Ambient Light Sensor LED stops blinking green and the PIR
triggers a photo. The M.I.N.E.™ Cam is now operational and active. Move to the secondary camera if
appropriate and set up as above.
If utilising an external power supply secure these appropriately and attach to the cameras through the
battery cable plug for extended, long-term operation.
Ensure the camera PIR triggers and sends a photo to your cell phone. This step will verify the camera is
positioned and programmed correctly. Ensure the feeder is centred and the entire gate opening is visible.
