SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the following information before using the product!
• The product should only be used in accordance with this user guide.
• The product should not be assembled, combined or repaired with
any parts or accessories other than those described in this guide or in
other documentation from Järven Health Care.
• Avoid using sharp objects near the product.
• In order to avoid damage, the product should not come into contact
with heat sources or re, such as burning cigarettes, heat lamps etc.
• No other plastic should come into direct contact with the cushion’s
surface layer, as the risk of migration is high (migration = transfer
of plasticisers, colours etc. between plastics). Migration can lead to
dehydration of the cushion’s plasticiser coating and thereby cause
cracks.
• Make sure that you use the correct product for the appropriate
purpose.
• The Schampi cushion may only be used on beds tted with a bed rail.

2. QUALITY
2.1 CE MARKING
The Schampi Cushion is CE marked according to Medical Device Regulation MDR (EU) 2017/745
class 1. The CE marking means that Järven Health Care has the manufacturer’s responsibility to
ensure that this product meets the essential requirements of relevant European legislation.
This includes the provision of technical documentation and assurance which is maintained for
at least ten years after the product is placed on the market.

4. PRODUCT INFORMATION
In places such as homes for the elderly, it is quite a common occurrence that a person wants to
sit on the edge of the bed, but is unable to. The Schampi cushion has been designed to solve
this issue. The Schampi cushion is placed behind the back of the person, once they have been
helped into a sitting position. It is prevented from sliding backward by raising and securing the
side rail of the bed. It provides safe and comfortable support thanks to the contoured back. The
cushion is supplied with a cover made of polyurethane (PU). The cover is soft, comfortable and
easy to clean.

5. USE OF PRODUCT
5.1 RECEIVING AND UNPACKING
Start by checking that the product is not damaged. In the event of transport damage, see
page 7. Remove the packaging and any protective material. Use of knives should be avoided
when unpacking and handling the product due to the risk of damage. The Schampi cushion
can be used immediately after unpacking.
5.2 INTENDED USE
In places such as homes for the elderly, it is quite a common occurrence that a person wants to
sit on the edge of the bed, but is unable to. The Schampi cushion has been designed to solve
this issue.
The Schampi cushion is intended for use in all types of hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living
apartments, special accommodation, palliative care units and units focused on rehabilitation
(for example, for individuals with breathing and circulation diculties). It can also be used in the
areas of disability care, shared housing, home health care and maternity care.
5.3 POSITIONING EXAMPLES

5.4 CARE AND CLEANING
• Regularly check the cushion (and cover) for visible signs of damage or wear, such as tears,
cracks, holes, stains or discolouration.
• The surface layer is cleaned with soap-based cleaning agents. Make sure to use the correct
dilution ratio as recommended by the detergent instructions. Never use concentrate.
• Chlorine-containing products must NOT be used!
• Disinfection is done with alcohol-based cleaning agents containing surfactants.
• No other plastic should come into direct contact with the cushion’s surface layer, as the risk of
migration is high (migration = transfer of plasticisers, colours etc. between plastics). Migration
can lead to dehydration of the cushion’s plasticiser coating and thereby cause cracks.
• Fabric conditioner/softener destroys the waterproofness of the surface layer and cover and
must NOT be used.
When using detergents or other chemicals, it is important to observe the
instructions and safety recommendations for each detergent. Read the safety
data sheets of the detergents used.
5.5 STORAGE
Store the Schampi cushion in the dry and at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight.
5.6 LIFESPAN
Always follow our care instructions for the Schampi cushion to ensure the longest possible
service life while maintaining function. The expected service life is 5 years.
5.7 RECYCLING
The Schampi cushion is completely energy-recoverable and can be sorted as “Combustible
waste”. No disassembly is necessary.

6. OTHER INFORMATION
6.1 PRODUCT LIABILITY
Product liability legislation (EU Directive 85/374/EEC, Swedish Law SFS 1992: 18) establishes the
manufacturer’s, importer’s or seller’s statutory liability for any damage caused by the product.
The regulations apply to physical products in the form of movables, even if incorporated into
another movable or into an immovable. If there is no product which has been the cause of some
form of property or personal injury, then product liability legislation is not relevant.
6.2 RETURNS AND COMPLAINTS
Any complaints regarding the product must be notied in writing to Järven Health Care.
The return of products must be done in accordance with our instructions. Returning a product
before a complaint case is processed will result in the case being considered closed and
customer compensation will not be paid.
6.3 DAMAGE UPON DELIVERY
Any damage of the product must be noted on the accompanying delivery document before
accepting possession. Then contact Customer Service at Järven Health Care
NOTE! For faster processing of your case, we ask you to photograph the transport damage
as thoroughly as possible before contacting Customer Service.
