Introduction
The LA-5174 is based on the advanced wireless and solar cell technology that the door
announcer gives alert signal for anyone approaching the area monitored by the solar wireless
P R. All visitors will be effectively detected. t is easy to set up and simple to use.
Please read this manual carefully before commencing installation.

Wireless Door Announcer x 1
The unit receives signals from the P R and gives
off alert signal.
Solar Wireless PIR Motion Detector x 1
t detects body heat of a moving object. (more
than one set can be linked to the Wireless Door
Announcer.)
Solar panel x 1
t is used to charge the rechargeable batteries for the Solar
Wireless P R. When the Wireless P R is connected to
the Solar Panel, the battery of the Wireless P R will
last longer
Remar s : Batteries are not included in the kit
Tools Required
 Large and small flat bladed screwdrivers

Installing Your System
n choosing a suitable location you should bear in mind:
• The need to reach the door announcer and P R easily for turning the unit on or off and
if the batteries need replacing.
• The door announcer should not be visible from the exterior of the protected premises.
Reception of radio signals can be affected by the presence of metal objects within a few feet of
the door announcer. (E.g. mirrors, central heating, garage doors and cars parked in garages on
the opposite side of the wall. Avoid any location which is near (within 60cm) to these or any
other large metal objects.
Installation
Wireless Door Announcer
CAUTION: When positioning the door announcer ensure that it is located in a dry place away
from damp areas.
Step 1:Unscrew and retain the holding screw from
front cover. Remove the front cover(s) from the base
assembly.
Step 2: Place 4 x 1.5V D-Cell Alkaline batteries (not included)
inside the battery compartment with the correct polarity.
Step 3: Close the front cover and screw it up. Turn on the unit
and two short ”beeps” are heard. The unit is now operational.
Place the unit to the suitable location according to the your own
needs.

Solar Wireless PIR
CAUTION: The wireless P R motion detector should be installed indoors or under a shelter
when placed outdoors.
The P R should not be mounted near to large metal objects or on metal surfaces. t needs to be
mounted on a wall or in a corner at a height of approximately 2-2.5m for the best coverage. Do
not site a P R where its field of view may be obstructed (e.g. by curtains). Also note that P R
work best when sensing movement across rather than along their detection beams.
The detector has been designed to avoid false alarms, nevertheless, it is best to avoid facing
sources of heat such as fires and boilers, and always try to keep away from a window. A P R can
look face a radiator but should not be positioned above one. n some cases, the movement of
animals may also be detected. To overcome this it is recommended that the pets are kept out
of sight of the P R.
Mounting the PIR
Step 1:Remove and retain the screw from the bottom of the P R and lift off the cover.
Step 2: f you are fitting the P R in a corner, use mounting
points ”A”, if you are fitting the detector on to a flat surface
use mounting points “B” – the mounting points are shown by
indentations in the plastic molding. Use a small drill to create
two fixing holes at the mounting points.
Step 3: Hold the base of the P R in the chosen position, ensuring that the front of P R will face
towards the centre of the protected area, and mark and drill two 5mm fixing holes in the wall.
DO NOT drill holes with the P R in position – the resulting dust may damage the unit. Secure
the P R to the wall using two screws (25mm countersink) and the wall plugs.
Step 4: Replace the electronic module into the retaining clips, ensuring that it is correctly
positioned and firmly seated.
Step 5: nstall 2 pcs. AAA rechargeable batteries (not
included) into the battery snap in correct polarity.
Replace P R cover and refit retaining screw.
Step 6: Plug-in the Solar Panel into the Wireless P R
for charging the batteries.

Note :
1). The rechargeable battery must be "fully charged" for first use on the Solar Wireless P R
unit.
2). The wireless P R has a 2 minutes warm-up period after it is powered up.
Operation
After powering up both the door announcer and wireless P R trigger the Detector by moving
your hand it front of the P R lens. The red LED on the P R will be ON and the door announcer
will give off “Ding Dong” sound
Maintenance
1). Test all detectors once every 3 months
2). t is suggested to replace all batteries in the door announcer once a year.
3). t is suggested to replace all batteries in the P R once every two years .
