DonotleavetheCassettePlayernearheatsources,orin

Alwaysunplugtheunitwhenitisnotinuse.
Neverinsertanyforeignobjectsintoanyoftheoutletson
theCassettePlayer.
TheCassettePlayerisnotatoy.Itshouldonlybeusedby
childrenmorethaneightyearsofage.
TheCassettePlayershouldnotbeusedbyanyonewith
reducedphysical,sensoryormentalcapabilities,unlessthey
havebeengivensupervisionorinstructiononhowtouseit
safely.

TheCassettePlayerispoweredwitheithertwoAA(UM‐3)
batteriesoranACadaptor.
*Pleasenote:BoththebatteriesorACadaptorarenot
supplied.
Usingbatteries(NOTSUPPLIED)
1. Openthebatterycompartment(13)onthereverse
ofthecassetteplayerbyslidingopenandgently
pullingupwardsthebatterydoor.
2. Checkthepolarity(+/‐)insidethebattery
compartment.
3. InserttwoAA(UM‐3)batteriesaccordingtothe
polarity.
4. Re‐closethebatterydoor.
Forbestperformanceandextendedoperatingtime,we
recommendusingalkalinebatteries.
IMPORTANT!
Pleasealwaysensurebatteriesarecorrectlyinstalled.
IncorrectpolaritycandamageyourCassettePlayer.
Nevermixoldandnewbatteries.
Nevermixalkaline,standard(carbon‐zinc)and
rechargeable(nickel‐cadmium)batteries.
IfyouarenotplanningtouseyourCassettePlayerforan
extendedperiodoftime,alwaysremovethebatteries.
Oldorleakingbatteriescancausedamagetotheunit
andmayvoidthewarranty.
Neverdisposeofbatteriesinafire‐batteriescanleakor
explode.
UsinganACadaptor(NOTSUPPLIED)
1. InserttheDCplug(attheendoftheACadaptorcord)
intotheDCinputjack(12)onthereverseofthe
cassetteplayer.
2. PlugtheACadaptorintoa220/230V~50HzAC
powersocket.

3. TheCassettePlayerwillautomaticallydisconnect
fromusingbatterypowerandoperateusingtheAC
adaptor.
IMPORTANT!
Onlyuseanadaptorwithanoutputvoltageratedas3V
DC600mA,withacentrenegativeplug.
Playingacassettetape
1. Inserttheearphoneplugintotheearphonejack.
2. Putonyourearphones.

3. Openthecassettedoorandinsertapre‐recorded
cassettetapefaceupwards.
4. Closethecassettedoor.
5. PressthePLAYbutton.
6. Adjustthevolumecontroltoyourpreferredsound
level.
7. PresstheFASTFORWARDbuttonifyouwishto
rapidlyadvancethetape.
8. PresstheSTOPbuttontoswitchoff.
IMPORTANT–Earphones!
Donotuseearphoneswhiledriving,cyclingoroperating
anymotorisedvehicle.
Donotplayyourearphonesathighvolumewhile
walking,especiallywhencrossingroads.
Avoidusingearphonesathighvolume.Hearingexperts
adviseagainstcontinuous,loudandextendedplay.Ifyou
experiencearinginginyourears,reducevolumeor
discontinueuse.
Keepcleanusingasoft,drycloth.
Neverimmerseinwater.
Automaticstop
Toprotectyourcassettetapesandpreventunnecessary
weartothecassettemechanism,thisunitisequipped
withanautomaticstopsystem.
Whenthetapeendsduringplayorfastforwarding,the
PLAYbuttonautomaticallyreleases,whichstopsthe
cassettefromrunning.
Cassettetapeoperatingtips
Toensuremaximumqualityrecordings,werecommend
thatyouonlyuseonlyhighqualitytapeswiththe
CassettePlayer.
Tapeswithaplayingtimeof120minutes(C‐120)arenot
recommended.Thesecontainthinnerandlongertape,

whichhasagreaterchanceofmalfunctioningand/or
jamming,andmaydamagethecassettemechanism.
Toensuregoodreproduction,pleasecleantheheadafter
every10‐20hoursofuse.
KeeptheCassettePlayerawayfromexcessiveheator
cold.
Ifthereisslackinthetape,removetheslackpriorto
insertingthecassette.Toremovetheslack,inserta
pencilintothehubandrotateclockwise(seebelow).
Leadertape
Thereisa‘leadertape’atthebeginningoneachcassette
tape.Thereisnorecordingonthisarea.Alwaysallowthe
tapetorunforaboutfivesecondstoreachtherecording
tape.
Alwayskeepthetapeheadclean.Adirtyheadcancause
distortedsoundorimpropertapespeed.
Toclean,simplydepressthePLAYbuttonanduseasmall
cottonswabwithtapeheadcleaneroralcoholtoclean
thetapehead,capstanandpinchroller(seediagram
below).
