Please take a moment to read through these instructions
before you use your Jeep Portable Cot.
®
• NEVER leave child unattended. ALWA
IMPORTANT
BEFORE ASSEMBLING THIS COT READ AND UNDERSTAND
THE INSTRUCTIONS. INCORRECT ASSEMBLY MAY MAKE THE
COT UNSAFE. DO NOT USE THIS COT IF ANY PART IS BROKEN,
TORN OR MISSING. KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN A SAFE
PLACE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
YS keep child in full view.
• Cot MUST be fully assembled with all top rails locked into position
prior to attaching bassinet and changing table.
• DO NOT place child in cot unless all top rails are securely locked
into position and floor pad is in proper place. Infant may roll into
space between pad and loose mesh sides causing suffocation.
• This portable cot is intended for use by a child who cannot climb
out of the cot, is less than 89cm tall and weighs less than 14kg.
• DO NOT use this cot if the covering material has been bitten through.
• MATTRESS SIZE: This cot is made to use a mattress which is
630mm wide, 960mm long and no more than 24mm thick. Using the
wrong size mattress may create hazardous gaps that could result in
suffocation or could reduce the side height of the cot which may
result in your child falling out from the cot.
• When using the reversible mattress pad, ALWAYS fully secure it
to the mattress using the velcro tabls.
• Carefully read the warning on canopy to avoid heat exposure.
• DO NOT use bassinet or changing table when child is in cot.
• STOP using the bassinet or changing table when your infant is 3mths
old or weighs more than 6.8kg.
• To prevent injury from falls, DO NOT use bassinet or changing table
when child is able to sit up or roll or push up on hands and knees.
• Use all clips to attach bassinet and changing table to the cot.
Make sure clips are fully snapped into place. DO NOT use if any
clips are broken or missing.
4
• ALWAYS use restraint system when changing child on the changing
table.
• ALWAYS keep child within arms reach when using the changing
table.
• DO NOT use bassinet or changing table on a bed, floor or other
surfaces.
• The bassinet and changing table are designed for use ONLY with
this Jeep Portable Cot. Only use bassinet and changing table
provided by the manufacturer.
• DO NOT use the changing table as a sleeping or play area.
• Before each use or assembly of product, inspect for damaged
hardware, loose joints, missing parts or sharp edges. DO NOT use
this product if any parts are missing or broken. Contact Born with
Style for replacement parts and instructional literature if needed.
DO NOT use suitable parts.
• Although Born with Style DOES NOT RECOMMEND refinishing this
product, if you choose to refinish, use a nontoxic finish specified
only for children’s products.
AVOID SUFFOCATION HAZARDS:
• To prevent suffocation from entrapment, use only the floor pad
provided by manufacturer.
• Ensure mattress pad is fully secured using velcro tabs.
• If a sheet is used, only use a fitted crib sheet that tucks at least 5cm
under the bassinet and changing table or floor pad on all sides to
avoid entanglement.
• When using bassinet, make sure floor pad sits flat against floor of
bassinet.
• DO NOT leave child in product with any side lowered. Be sure all
sides are raised and locked in position at all times.
• NEVER use plastic shipping bags as mattress covers. Do not use
plastic film as mattress cover unless sold and intended for that
purpose. They can cause suffocation.
• DO NOT use a water mattress with this product.
• DO NOT use extra mattress pad on bassinet.
• DO NOT leave anything in the cot such as toys, that can provide a
foothold.
®
5
AVOID STRANGULATION HAZARDS:
• Strings can cause strangulation! DO NOT place items with a string
around child’s neck (hood strings, pacifier cords, etc.) or attach
strings to toys.
• DO NOT suspend strings into a cot.
• DO NOT place the cot near a window where cords from blinds or
drapes can strangle a child.
AVOID HEAT EXPOSURE HAZARDS:
To avoid over-heating your child:
• Keep product out of direct sunlight.
• Turn mesh sides away from direction of sun.
• ALWAYS keep entire floor pad shaded from sunlight.
• Be sure to take note of warning on Canopy for heat exposure risks.
AVOID OTHER HAZARDS:
• DO NOT use the cot near naked heat sources, bar heaters, open
fires or exposed flames.
• Keep medication and small items that a child could choke on away
from the cot.
• The thickness of the mattress has been specified to ensure that the
distance from the top of the mattress to the top of the lowest side or
end will always be at least 500mm. This will reduce the risk of
children falling out of the cot.
• DO NOT place more than one child in bassinet, cot or on changing
table.
• DO NOT use in a motor vehicle - child can be seriously injured during
an accident or sudden stop.
• DO NOT move or fold bassinet, changing table, or cot with child in
it - child could be injured.
