Read the operating and safety instructions carefully before starting up the machine!
These operating instructions belong to the machine. They must be handed over
when selling or renting the machine.
We always endeavor to improve our products; therefore we reserve the right to
mount modifications and improvements that we consider to be appropriate. There is
no obligation for those changes for prior delivered machines.
Information:
This manual contains also specifications for options that are not part of the series-
product. There are no special hints in this manual for special customer requests.
I. Preamble
Dear customer!
This manual is supposed to help you get acquainted with the machine and its
intended use.
The manual contains important information for using the machine safety, appropriate
and efficient. Its compliance helps to avoid risks, repair costs and downtime.
Following the advices helps to increase the dependability and life expectancy of the
machine.
The instruction manual has to be supplemented by instructions based on national
rules and regulations concerning accident prevention.
The instruction book needs to be available at site of operation at all times. In case of
rental or sale the instruction book needs to be handed over with the machine.
The operating instructions have to be read and applied by every person that is
assigned with working with the machine e.g.:
- operating, including setting up, troubleshooting while working, removing and
handling with operating supplies e.g. lubricants.
- maintenance.
- transport.
In addition to the instruction manual and to the mandatory rules and regulations for
accident prevention in the country and place of use of the machine the generally
recognized technical rules for safe and proper working are also to be observed.
The Jensen Company wishes a failure-free working for all operators.
But for all that if there questions or troubles we effort to eliminate these as fast as
possible.

1. Safety instructions
1. Safety instructions
1.1 General safety instructions
It is only allowed to use the woodchipper for the designated feeding! The designated
feeding can be found in the technical data of this manual.
There can be conflicting information because of differences in machine types. The
essential information in this case is the one that is favorable for the machine safety!
The woodchipper is constructed according to present technical standards. It is
reliable in operation. There can be dangers by using the machine contrary to the
designated use.
Each person that attends to work on or with the machine (e.g. maintenance,
operation, assembly etc.) has to read and follow the operating instructions.
Breakdowns and damage of/on the woodchipper that can be traced back to
insufficient knowledge or non-observance of the operating instructions are not part of
the warranty and guarantee.
It is only allowed to chip trunk or brush wood with the woodchipper unless there is a
different specification in the operating instructions. The maximum trunk diameter can
be found in the technical data. Every use that differs from the designed use is not
allowed. The manufacture takes no responsibility for damage that result from misuse.
The risk by misuse is in charge of the operator.
The prescribed assembly-, operation- and service-instructions are also part of the
intended use. Modifications of the machine cause the loss of the warranty and
guarantee.
All work in connection with assembly, operation, service and adaption must only be
carried out by specially trained personnel or specialist companies.
The technical safety instructions have to be followed at all times. The general safety
and accident prevention instructions of the employer's liability insurance coverage
apply for the operation of the woodchipper in every case.
Basic rule
The operator has to instruct every user concerning the operation and service of the
machine. Applicable regulations of the labor protection law should be considered.
Check the road and operation safety before starting up the machine!

1. Safety instructions
1.2 Setting up the machine
The following points need to be followed when setting up the machine:
1. The woodchipper needs to be placed stable on a flat and firmly ground!
2. Stable stand of the machine with chassis frame with additional support legs:
lower support legs and use wheel chocks.
3. It is only allowed to use the machine with mounted exhaust chute!
4. Positioning of exhaust chute and exhaust trap: averted from the operator and
that no one gets in danger by ejected chips.
5. Persons are not permitted to be present in the danger zone of the machine!
6. Ensure that no persons are present in the danger zone of the machine.
7. Ensure that the operator has an operating range of min. 4 meters.
8. The location must be chosen so that the safety devices do not get affected.
9. The properties of the operating area must be such that there are no dangers
for the operator (e.g. trip hazard, slipping, etc.).
10. The infeed chute must be positioned in a way so that the function of the safety
shut-down is not affected. For machines that have the safety bar below the
infeed chute the operator has to ensure that there is a min. clearance of 600
mm between the ground and the bottom of the infeed chute. (according to
Accident Prevention Regulations)
11. For machines that are designated for mounting on truck platform must be
lashed on the platform with the four fastening eyes.
It is not allowed to use the fastening eyes for lifting operations.
12. For machines that are designated for crane use the operator must be outside
the danger zone or in the cab of the crane/machine. The danger zone is
defined by the crane.
The operator is responsible that there is no one in the danger zone while
working with the machine/crane.
13. Ensure that there is always enough clearance to power lines of all types.
